Book excerpt: Big Kids Coloring Book: Restored District Williamsburg VA Geographic Area Gray Scale Photos to Color - Holiday Wreaths and Décor THIS BOOK IS Volume 2 of 9 - 2017 If you love to color beautiful Gray Scale photos, and love the restored colonial area of the city of Williamsburg, VA, you will adore this series of books of the 2017 holiday décor and decorations around the area. The artist/photographer took a walking tour of the streets and buildings in December throughout the beloved restored area to document the stunningly beautiful 2017 door wreaths and holiday decorations. In creating the wreaths and décor, restrictions and instructions were the elements of each holiday design had to be created with materials in existence during the colonial era. The wreaths and décor are predominantly made of natural materials - dried fruit, flowers, and vegetables, magnolia leaves, sycamore tree seed balls, artichokes, dried okra pods, apples and pineapples, persimmons, oyster shells, evergreen boughs and fresh or dried leaves, oranges spiked with cloves, lotus pods, apples, wheat and corn husks, baskets, feathers, and pine cones. The holiday designers added 'trades-related' elements to some wreaths such as dried tobacco leaves and clay pipes, toys and soaps, cotton-bolls and threads, tankards and playing cards, a miniature anvil and hammer, nutmeg graters and walnuts, musical flutes and song sheets, a tiny yule log surrounded by straw and wheat stars, miniature wigs and shoe soles, wooden spoons and dried orange slices, twisted paper (into rolls or roses), and shiny tin leaves, to name a few. What is even better than getting black and white grayscale photos to color? The original photos in full glorious color are also available on the Author / Photographer's Etsy shop as reference for when you color the illustrations at: www.etsy.com/people/DawnDBoyer Whether you are a floral designer or a home-based crafter, these beautiful photos in black and white and the matching (Etsy store available) full-color illustrations provide incentive, inspiration, and creative ideas for you to design and create your own colonial-era inspired holiday décor! Download or read book World Development Report 2009 written by World Bank and published by World Bank Publications. This book was released on 2008-11-04 with total page 410 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rising densities of human settlements, migration and transport to reduce distances to market, and specialization and trade facilitated by fewer international divisions are central to economic development. The transformations along these three dimensions density, distance, and division are most noticeable in North America, Western Europe, and Japan, but countries in Asia and Eastern Europe are changing in ways similar in scope and speed. 'World Development Report 2009: Reshaping Economic Geography' concludes that these spatial transformations are essential, and should be encouraged. The conclusion is not without controversy. Slum-dwellers now number a billion, but the rush to cities continues. Globalization is believed to benefit many, but not the billion people living in lagging areas of developing nations. High poverty and mortality persist among the world's 'bottom billion', while others grow wealthier and live longer lives. Concern for these three billion often comes with the prescription that growth must be made spatially balanced. The WDR has a different message: economic growth is seldom balanced, and efforts to spread it out prematurely will jeopardize progress. The Report: documents how production becomes more concentrated spatially as economies grow. proposes economic integration as the principle for promoting successful spatial transformations. revisits the debates on urbanization, territorial development, and regional integration and shows how today's developers can reshape economic geography.

This book was released on 2016-12-15 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you love to color colonial architecture from the nation's revolutionary city capital in the Williamsburg Virginia Geographic Area and the Historic Restoration district, this book is a definite 'must buy!' If you love to color the holiday decorations, you can't wait to purchase this book! Historically, the colonists did not decorate for the holidays as Americans do today. But, in keeping with the guidelines of the local building codes of the area, residents can decorate for the holidays, but are only allowed to use natural materials that could be found or were present at the time of the early revolutionary era. The amazing wreath designs are stunning in their simplicity and variety of beautiful materials. This coloring book also has a companion resource book available via the author's Etsy store where buyers can view the original full-color photographs to resource the colors and more details to the materials in each wreath (etsy.com/people/DawnDBoyer) The book is filled with 50+ Gray Scaled Photographs of the 2016 Holiday Wreathes and Dcor you will find if you visit the area. This is one of four volumes of Gray Scale photos that concentrate on Holiday Wreathes and Dcor. There are at least two creative ways you can use the illustrations in this book and the other three volumes: As a Coloring Book - pull the pages out, get out your crayons and colored pencils, and 'go to town' in adding your interpretation of what materials the colonists used if they were inclined to decorate their windows and doors during the holiday season. As a Scavenger Game - look through the book and see if you can identify the location of all the illustrations throughout the book. Mark the location page with the longitude and latitude coordinates. Buy more books for your friends and family and see who can identify all the locations of the structures in the book first! Download or read book A Patriot s History of the United States written by Larry Schweikart and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2004-12-29 with total page 1373 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For the past three decades, many history professors have allowed their biases to distort the way America’s past is taught. These intellectuals have searched for instances of racism, sexism, and bigotry in our history while downplaying the greatness of America’s patriots and the achievements of “dead white men.” As a result, more emphasis is placed on Harriet Tubman than on George Washington; more about the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II than about D-Day or Iwo Jima; more on the dangers we faced from Joseph McCarthy than those we faced from Josef Stalin. A Patriot’s History of the United States corrects those doctrinaire biases. In this groundbreaking book, America’s discovery, founding, and development are reexamined with an appreciation for the elements of public virtue, personal liberty, and private property that make this nation uniquely successful. This book offers a long-overdue acknowledgment of America’s true and proud history.
