However, things do happen on her train ride north through Indian Territory. Her life changes directions although she does not understand why all of this is happening only to her and no one else. She meets a Chief Furry Paws who bestows the gift of knowledge and the gift of the google to Barney Bear. At the Indian village with Chief Furry Paws Barney Bear sees flashes of her future when she looks down on the platform that she is standing on while the Chief gives her instructions. She does not realize it is the future until later when she is given a puppy named 4-Paws, a horse named Patience, and after Grandma Bear has sewn a riding outfit for her. The Silverback Bears who reside on Magic Mountain are friends with Chief Furry Paws. Book Uncle Fuddy Duddy and the Big Bad Bear

Download or read book Uncle Fuddy Duddy and the Big Bad Bear written by Roy Windham and published by Trafford on Demand Pub. This book was released on 2010-04 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a book for children about an imaginary rabbit named Uncle Fuddy-Duddy. Uncle Fuddy-Duddy is a very large rabbit, very wise, and can do many things that other rabbits (and many people) cannot. He has had many adventures and loves to gather his children and grandchildren around him and tell them some of his stories. Each story ends with a short moral statement that children can understand, and can learn good values. In this book, he is confronted by a bear. He is not afraid of anything. He plays games with his grandchildren, ice skates, uses his medical skills to fix a dove's broken wing, and has many other adventures. He looks out for all the animals in the forest and makes sure they are safe. The first two books in this series are "Uncle Fuddy-Duddy Rabbit Tales" and "Uncle Fuddy-Duddy Learns To Fly." Children from ages four through ten enjoy them (and many adults, too). They are available from Trafford Publishing or from Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Book Creature Comfort

Download or read book Creature Comfort written by Bernie Graham and published by Prometheus Books. This book was released on 2010-10-05 with total page 342 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: . . . a collection of wonderful and encouraging stories about 'Animal Assisted Therapy.' - Stanley Coren, author of The Intelligence of DogsThis inspiring, humorous, and touching book celebrates the beneficial effects that animals have on humans and describes how their healing potential is being increasingly acknowledged by the medical community. Animal Assisted Therapy, an important new development in health care, has already shown that people are statistically less likely to suffer an early heart attack if they have a pet, and that stroking an animal actually reduces stress levels. This, however, is only the tip of the iceberg, says environmental psychologist Bernie Graham. Animal Assisted Therapy is now achieving amazing results in treating children with physical and mental disabilities by using trained dolphins in acquatic therapy. There are also programs that teach dogs to help the disabled by taking laundry out of the washing machine; selecting, unpacking, and paying for items in the supermarket; and even withdrawing money from the bank. Cats, rabbits, and dogs are now taken into hospitals to comfort the patients, and more exotic animals such as ferrets, donkeys, guinea pigs, monkeys, and even tigers are being used to bring hope to individuals, thereby enhancing human efforts.Written with warmth and compassion, Creature Comfort looks at all aspects of Animal Assisted Therapy, including the theories behind it, to provide both a practical guide and a moving account of the many rewarding human-animal interactions. A must for pet lovers, health care workers, and anyone who wishes to benefit from this most holistic of therapies.Bernie Graham, an environmental psychologist, is a member of the British Psychological Society, the International Society for Anthrozoology, and the Society for Companion Animal Studies.
