On suppose que l’opérateur linéarisé à l’origine Lε a un spectre essentiel sur l’axe réel et une valeur propre simple en 0. La bifurcation étudiée vient du fait que Lε possède une paire de valeurs propres simples imaginaires pour ε > 0. On donne les hypothèses sur Lε et sur le terme non linéaire qui précisent cette situation. Avec ces hypothèses, on montre l’existence d’une famille de solutions homoclines aux solutions d’équilibre près de l’origine. Ces solutions homoclines sont symétriques et leur décroissance à l’infini est algébrique. Elles sont approchées à l’ordre principal par l’onde solitaire de Benjamin-Ono. On montre également l’existence d’une famille à deux paramètres de solutions périodiques qui sont solutions à l’ordre principal de l’équation de Benjamin-Ono pour les fonctions périodiques. Ces résultats s’appliquent en théorie des vagues pour la recherche d’ondes progressives dans deux couches superposées de fluides parfaits, la couche inférieur étant de profondeur infinie, la couche supérieure étant bornée par une surface rigide ou ayant une surface libre avec une grande tension de surface. On obtient ainsi une famille d’ondes solitaires ainsi qu’une famille à deux paramètres de vagues périodiques.

The body of mortal creatures, the body politic, the body of letters and of laws, the “mystical body of Christ”—all these (and others) are incorporated in the word Corpus, the title and topic of Jean-Luc Nancy’s masterwork. Corpus is a work of literary force at once phenomenological, sociological, theological, and philosophical in its multiple orientations and approaches. In thirty-six brief sections, Nancy offers us at once an encyclopedia and a polemical program—reviewing classical takes on the “corpus” from Plato, Aristotle, and Saint Paul to Descartes, Hegel, Husserl, and Freud, while demonstrating that the mutations (technological, biological, and political) of our own culture have given rise to the need for a new understanding of the body. He not only tells the story of this cultural change but also explores the promise and responsibilities that such a new understanding entails. The long-awaited English translation is a bold, bravura rendering. To the title essay are added five closely related recent pieces—including a commentary by Antonia Birnbaum—dedicated in large part to the legacy of the “mind-body problem” formulated by Descartes and the challenge it poses to rethinking the ancient problems of the corpus. The main object is the analysis of the small eigenvalues (as $h \mapsto 0$) of the Laplacian attached to the quadratic form $C_0^\infty (\Omega )\ni v \mapsto h^2 \int _{\Omega}\left \nabla v (x)\right ^2 e^{-2f(x)/h} dx$, where $\Omega $ is a bounded connected open set with $C^\infty $-boundary and $f$ is a Morse function on $M=\overline {\Omega }$. The previous works were devoted to the case of a manifold $M$ which is compact but without boundary or $\mathbb{R}^n$. The authors' aim here is to analyze the case with boundary. After the introduction of a Witten cohomology complex adapted to the case with boundary, they give a very accurate asymptotics for the exponentially small eigenvalues. In particular, they analyze the effect of the boundary in the asymptotics.
