Les collections patrimoniales que compte la Bibliothèque nationale de France, riches de manuscrits et incunables arméniens inconnus du grand public et trop peu connus des spécialistes, se trouvent ici révélées, à côté des pièces exceptionnelles provenant du musée d'Histoire d'Arménie et de l'institut des Manuscrits anciens d'Erevan, dit Matenadaran. Cet ouvrage collectif dresse ainsi une typologie des voies empruntées d'un continent à l'autre par les courants de pensée, les croyances, les mouvements littéraires, les modes, les produits commerciaux ou les conceptions politiques et stratégiques. Il établit un tableau dynamique des courants d'échanges et des apports réciproques entre Orient et Occident.
