Book excerpt: Shri Krsna and Bhgavat Dharma by Shri Jagadish Chandra Ghose written in Bengali discusses the teachings of Shri Krsna with quotes from various books of Shstras. Shri Krsna and Bhgavat Dharma discusses mainly four subjects: First the book considers Shri Krsna as Brahman, Ishvara or Bhagavn as is meant by "Ishvarah paramah Krsnah sacchidnandavigrahah" meaning "Krsna is Ishvara; He is Sat-Cit-nanda"; this has been supported by quotations from the Vednta, Purnas and Vaishnava Shstras. Second, the discussion is on Shri Krsna's divine love plays (Lil). Through these divine love plays the Bliss or nanda aspect of Shri Krsna, the Sat-Cit-nanda is expressed. These expressions are explained with quotes from the Purnas. Third, there is discussion about the main objectives of human life. Finally, the book explains what Shri Krsna taught His disciples Arjuna and Uddhava about His doctrines and Dharma using quotes extensively from Bhagavad Git and the Bhgavat. This English translation Bhagavn Shri Krsna and Bhgavat Dharma follows the format as closely as possible to the original Bengali book.

Book excerpt: In his book RādhāKrsna Sunil Gangopadhyay did not treat Krsna and Rādhā as god and goddess. He described them as common ordinary human just like us. His description of the love between Rādhā and Krsna therefore had sensual connotations following the custom of many literary publications of the past like Jayadeva's 'Gitagovinda' and many Padābali Kirtanas. However, we have to remember that Krsna is the 'Param Brahma' that is the Supreme Spirit as defined in the Hindu Dharma Shāstras. Shrimati Rādhā is his consort or his 'Shakti' that is power. The 'Prema' that is love between them is devotional and spiritual love. Krsna and Rādhā's devotional love plays are the 'Rāsa Lilā' of Bhagavān Shri Krsna and his 'Shakti' Rādhā.

Book 108 Most Important Shlokas of the Bhagavad Gita Simplified For Beginners of All Ages

Download or read book 108 Most Important Shlokas of the Bhagavad Gita Simplified For Beginners of All Ages written by Monisha K Gumber and published by Anecdote Publishing House. This book was released on 2024-08-26 with total page 135 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: About the Book - The simplification of the selected 108 shlokas of the Bhagvad Gita is not a direct translation nor an in-depth analysis. With humility and respect my endeavor is just to offer the wisdom of the Gita in regular conversational language, especially for beginners in India and beyond. If you haven't read any of the scriptures and would like to know more about our ancient civilization and history, then this might be a good place to start, though there are some brilliant minds who have dedicated their lives for dharma and desh-sewa. An excellent body of work is produced by some great personalities such as Sanjay Dikshit, Nilesh Oak, Rajeev Malhotra, Ami Ganatra, Neeraj Atri, and countless others; towards whom I humbly offer my deepest and sincerest gratitude. In this particular compilation, there are only 108 shlokas, as recommended by the ISKCON* and are aligned to the Bhakti aspect. In totality there are 700 shlokas, logically structured into 18 chapters mostly focusing on Karma Yog, Gyan Yog and Bhakti Yog. The word 'yog' or 'yoga' doesn't have a single meaning. In the context of Gita it means the 'path' undertaken to be united with a specific goal. The Gita starts with Arjuna's anguish just before the battle of Kurukshetra is about to begin and seeks guidance from his trusted friend and Guru, Shri Krishna. To even attempt to list down the great learnings in this sacred text, would not be possible in a single lifetime, still, this document would provide you a base to explore deeper and wider into this ocean of precious knowledge. Please also note at this stage, you could find some concepts repetitious or contradictory. Hence, you might eventually need a trusted Guru. All depends on the intensity of your desire to know more. Gita is the song of Bhagwan Himself and the essence of the Vedas. If you are reading this, probably its Krishna's will and you can consider yourself fortunate that the Gita has chosen to come to you, in whatever form. Please continue on this beautiful journey that shall open up your hearts and minds to some enchanting places in the universe. I am writing from personal experiences that all we need is devotion and He shall take care of everything. Radhey Radhey

This new accessible and only English translation in print of The Uddhava Gita offers a previously unexplored path to understanding Hinduism and Krishna’s wisdom. Written centuries apart, the ideas of the two dialogues are similar although their approach and contexts differ. The Bhagavad Gita is filled with the urgency of battle while The Uddhava Gita takes place on the eve of Krishna’s departure from the world. This book was released on 2022-02-08 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The word dharma, originally from the Sanskrit, refers to the inherent, unchanging nature of something – sugar’s dharma is to be sweet, water’s dharma is to be wet, and fire’s dharma is to emit heat and light. Dharma also refers to our natural duty. We humans have ordinary dharma and an ultimate dharma that relates to who we are at soul level. That dharma requires that we ask existential questions and then seek ultimate answers – questions such as Who am I? Why am I here? and What is my ultimate purpose? Dharma, the Way of Transcendence is a compilation of lectures on human dharma given by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in 1972 as he toured India. Here he teaches that the dharma of all humans and every other living embodied soul – is service. No one can exist for a moment without serving someone or something else, even if it’s only the mind and senses. So the question is, whom or what can we serve if we want to be truest to ourselves?

And they will reveal to you the secret of how to embark on a journey to a transcendental realm beyond space and time.
