For this research, 35 papers are taken into consideration. An extensive literature review is conducted to examine the factors affecting the disruptions in the food supply chain. The findings reveal that stringent measures such as restriction on the movement of workers, change in consumer behavior, and implementation of export bans had an adverse impact on the food supply chains. Moreover, this study reveals that meat supply chains are most vulnerable to the disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, this paper provides a pathway for the managers by suggesting strategies such as adopting Industry 4.0 technologies and developing alternative resources (e.g., plant-based alternatives) to make the supply chains more resilient.
