Book Beyond Duality and Polarization

Download or read book Beyond Duality and Polarization written by Paul Koziey and published by University Press of America. This book was released on 2012 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Beyond Duality and Polarization explores an experience-based learning model, the Phenomenal Patterning approach for personal transformation. Rather than traditional prescriptive learning, methods of personal discovery help us understand how the human mind actually functions. Dr. Koziey introduces two modern Zen skills, watching and catharsis, to increase self-awareness. This frees us from habitual patterns we learned in childhood. We identify the patterns of our own thinking and behaving and see that many of the problems we face are self-created. Repressions are revealed in the shadow psyche and we are able to dissolve our negativity. The overriding message is that when we stop fighting, life starts flowing again.

Book excerpt: Are you free of prejudice? Less than five percent of us are because of the pervasiveness of dualistic, “us”/”them” thinking. In Moving Beyond Duality, Dr. Riddle draws on research from quantum physics, the life sciences, and the social sciences to describe our actual dynamic energetic reality and expose the unconscious habits that hold the harmful illusion of duality in place. She shows how we depersonalize ourselves and others (including nonhumans) through bigotry, dismissiveness, stereotyping, and objectification. Drawing on the latest research in neuroscience, she clarifies that good intentions are not enough to counter embedded habits. And she provides a series of practical strategies and exercises to uncover depersonalizing habits and create lasting change. Moving Beyond Duality reminds us that it is relationship and connectedness that define us—whether by their absence or their richness. We are all—human and nonhuman alike—part of the cosmic sea of energy that is the One Life, cherished in our diversity.

Book excerpt: In this companion volume to his critically acclaimed, Lambda Literary Award-winning book, Gay Spirituality, Toby Johnson further explicates his visionary stance that gay people's nature as outsiders gives them a uniquely powerful perspective on the nature of God and religion. By living outside gender norms, gay people are more open to seeing across boundaries of gender and gain access to a less dualistic outlook on the nature of life. Once again, Johnson approaches this potentially controversial subject matter with erudition, empathy and visionary speculation and gives meaning to gay consciousness beyond superficial issues of sexual behavior.

Book Photons in Fock Space and Beyond

Download or read book Photons in Fock Space and Beyond written by Reinhard Honegger and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2015-04-22 with total page 656 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The three-volume major reference “Photons in Fock Space and Beyond” undertakes a new mathematical and conceptual foundation of the theory of light emphasizing mesoscopic radiation systems. The quantum optical notions are generalized beyond Fock representations where the richness of an infinite dimensional quantum field system, with its mathematical difficulties and theoretical possibilities, is fully taken into account. It aims at a microscopic formulation of a mesoscopic model class which covers in principle all stages of the generation and propagation of light within a unified and well-defined conceptual frame. The dynamics of the interacting systems is founded — according to original works of the authors — on convergent perturbation series and describes the developments of the quantized microscopic as well as the classical collective degrees of freedom at the same time. The achieved theoretical unification fits especially to laser and microwave applications inheriting objective information over quantum noise. A special advancement is the incorporation of arbitrary multiply connected cavities where ideal conductor boundary conditions are imposed. From there arises a new category of classical and quantized field parts, apparently not treated in Quantum Electrodynamics before. In combination with gauge theory, the additional “cohomological fields” explain topological quantum effects in superconductivity. Further applications are to be expected for optoelectronic and optomechanical systems. Key Features:On the side of Physics, “Photons in Fock Space and Beyond” extends the applicability of quantum optical notions far beyond the usual scope of the quantum optical literature by using more general optical cavities and theoretical ansatzes. By establishing a systematic conceptual frame, many fundamental questions of photon theory are clarified by mathematical argumentsOn the side of Mathematical Physics, certain parts of the theory of vector fields with boundary conditions, of operator algebras, ergodic theory, convexity, measures on dual spaces, perturbation theory and electrodynamic gauge bundles are not only treated in an introductory fashion but also supplemented in an original mannerThe unique feature of that exposition of mathematical disciplines is their integration into a comprehesive line of thought within a deductive physical theoryKeywords:Electrodynamics;Vector Analysis;Statistical Physics;Quantum Optics;Quantum Field Theory;Quantum Statistics;Solid State Physics;Superconductivity;Gauge Theory;Operator Algebras;Convexity;Topological Vector Spaces;Fiber BundlesReviews: “This three volume work on the quantum field theory of radiation combines well presented, competent mathematical foundations with actual physical applications to mesoscopic photonics.” (See Full Review) Professor Ernst Binz Universität Mannheim

Book Beyond Nihilism

    Book Details:
  • Author : Ofelia Schutte
  • Publisher : University of Chicago Press
  • Release : 1986-11-15
  • ISBN : 9780226741413
  • Pages : 254 pages

Download or read book Beyond Nihilism written by Ofelia Schutte and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 1986-11-15 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nietzsche is regarded by some as a great liberator, a thinker far more radical than Marx. For others, he is an ideologue of power, a spokesman for domination, a protofascist. Ofelia Schutte holds that these conflicting assessments result from a failure to distinguish between two paradigms of power found in Nietzsche's work: power as recurring energy and power as domination. Schutte uses this fundamental distinction to analyze comprehensively Nietzsche's metaphysics, ethics, and politics. She addresses both the positive and the negative in the whole of his thought, seeking to read Nietzsche 'without masks'--without the cultural and intellectual biases of many of his previous interpreters.

Book Dowsing Beyond Duality

Download or read book Dowsing Beyond Duality written by David Cowan and published by Weiser Books. This book was released on 2012-06-01 with total page 415 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: David Cowan’s first book, Navigating the Collapse of Time, introduced readers to the consciousness shift in “reality” that we are currently experiencing. Dowsing Beyond Duality draws on those principles and theories and presents an easy and powerful means to keep our energy balanced in this time of great change. Working with Erina Cowan, David Cowan presents a comprehensive course based on the Course in Miracles principle that we know all we need to know within our divine selves. They teach us to use the science of spiritual dowsing to access physical, mental, and emotional healing. Dowsing Beyond Duality goes well beyond just getting ‘yes and no’ answers from a pendulum. The Cowans show how to use the pendulum—not only to find lost objects or make daily decisions—but also to deepen one’s self-realization, to move beyond the duality of the third dimension, and create positive change in one’s life and in the world. With more than 75 charts, the Cowans guide readers through specific movements of the pendulum that release limiting beliefs and unconscious resistance. Dowsing Beyond Duality shows readers how to use spiritual dowsing to deepen self-realization and find truth and peace of mind in their lives.

Book Mirrors in the Earth

Download or read book Mirrors in the Earth written by Asia Suler and published by North Atlantic Books. This book was released on 2022-06-28 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A nature therapy session for the soul--encounter the benevolence of the living world through 12 essays on the Earth-healing powers of self-compassion and empathy. When healing is needed at the deepest level, nature will always call us back home--not only to the oak woods or water-filled coves, but to the homes within ourselves. In a series of 12 lyrical nature essays, herbalist, writer, and Earth intuitive Asia Suler illuminates the healing power of the living Earth--and gives us permission to nurture self-compassion and empathy as forces for personal and ecological healing. In a time of unprecedented ecological devastation, it’s easy to feel hopeless and disconnected. It’s easier still to mask our inherent goodness--to imagine that our unique and precious gifts simply aren’t enough, or forget the power of our inborn empathy. For those of us who are highly sensitive, innately attuned to the workings and whispers of the natural world, it can be hard to embody the belief that we’re enough as we are--and that can heal the Earth. Here, Suler reveals the opposite: our goodness, our empathy, our intuitive connections, and our capacity for self-compassion are more than personal traits or antidotes to despair: they are, in fact, our most potent vehicles for planetary transformation. And as we learn to more deeply nurture and accept ourselves, we unlock living, healing connections to Earth. Combining poetic nature writing with exercises and reflection prompts at the end of each essay, Mirrors in the Earth coaxes us to come as we are: to discover and tend the inherent brilliance and medicine that lives in each of us. From the manatee-calm springs of wild Florida to the flower-dotted coves of the world’s most biodiverse mountains, Mirrors in the Earth is an invitation and encounter with the benevolence of the living world--and a nature therapy session for the soul.

Book Integrated Quantum Photonics

Download or read book Integrated Quantum Photonics written by Shinichi Saito and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2023-08-31 with total page 45 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: manipulating the inherent properties of quantum mechanics to develop a wide variety of novel technologies. Photons are nearly ideal carriers of quantum information (flying quantum bits), due to their weak interaction with environments and relatively long coherence time. Owing to these outstanding characteristics, they are widely implemented not only in constructing quantum computing, but also in developing quantum communication. Quantum technologies based on photons will potentially require integrated optical architecture for improved performance, such as easy miniaturization and good scalability. Although plenty of experiments on quantum information have been performed with bulk optics, for those complicated schemes, they will inevitably suffer from severe drawbacks, such as poor stability, quite limited operation precision and rather bulky physical size etc. One promising candidate on conquering these weaknesses is to adopt miniaturized optical integrated devices. Until today, a large number of great researches on this aspect have been issued on different platforms.

Book Duality Symmetry

  • Author : Ivan Fernandez-Corbaton
  • Publisher : MDPI

Download or read book Duality Symmetry written by Ivan Fernandez-Corbaton and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2020-12-10 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Symmetry is one of the most general concepts in physics. Symmetry arguments are used to explain and predict observations at all length scales, from elementary particles to cosmology. The generality of symmetry arguments, combined with their simplicity, makes them a powerful tool for both fundamental and applied investigations. In electrodynamics, one of the symmetries is the invariance of the equations under exchange of electric and magnetic quantities. The continuous version of this symmetry is most commonly known as electromagnetic duality symmetry. This concept has been accepted for more than a century, and, throughout this time, has influenced other areas of physics, like high energy physics and gravitation. This Special Issue is devoted to electromagnetic duality symmetry and other vareities of dualities in physics. It contains four Articles, one Review and one Perspective. The context of the contributions ranges from string theory to applied nanophotonics, which, as anticipated, shows that duality symmetries in general and electromagnetic duality symmetry in particular are useful in a wide variety of physics fields, both theoretical and applied. Moreover, a number of the contributions show how the use of symmetry arguments and the quantification of symmetry breaking can successfully guide our theoretical understanding and provide us with guidelines for system design.

Book Beyond Method

    Book Details:
  • Author : Gareth Morgan
  • Publisher : SAGE
  • Release : 1983-05
  • ISBN : 9780803920781
  • Pages : 432 pages

Download or read book Beyond Method written by Gareth Morgan and published by SAGE. This book was released on 1983-05 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Research is often seen as a neutral, technical process through which researchers simply reveal or discover knowledge. A broader and more self-reflective stance is advocated in Beyond Method, one in which a knowledge of technique needs to be complemented by an appreciation of the nature of research as a distinctively human process, through which researchers make knowledge. Such an appreciation requires a reframing of understanding and debate about research, in a way that goes beyond considerations of method alone.
