Book Betriebliche Gesundheitsf rderung BGF Aktuelle Schwierigkeiten und Herausforderungen

Download or read book Betriebliche Gesundheitsf rderung BGF Aktuelle Schwierigkeiten und Herausforderungen written by Hannah Rauth and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2018-03-13 with total page 21 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Arbeit und Gesundheit Betriebliche Gesundheitsf rderung und betriebliches Gesundheitsmanagement Auswirkungen der st ndigen Erreichbarkeit written by and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2023-09-26 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Unhealthy Work written by Peter Schnall and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-02-06 with total page 381 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Work, so fundamental to well-being, has its darker and more costly side. Work can adversely affect our health, well beyond the usual counts of injuries that we think of as 'occupational health'. The ways in which work is organized - its pace and intensity, degree of control over the work process, sense of justice, and employment security, among other things - can be as toxic to the health of workers as the chemicals in the air. These work characteristics can be detrimental not only to mental well-being but to physical health. Scientists refer to these features of work as 'hazards' of the 'psychosocial' work environment. One key pathway from the work environment to illness is through the mechanism of stress; thus we speak of 'stressors' in the work environment, or 'work stress'. This is in contrast to the popular psychological understandings of 'stress', which locate many of the problems with the individual rather than the environment. In this book we advance a social environmental understanding of the workplace and health. The book addresses this topic in three parts: the important changes taking place in the world of work in the context of the global economy (Part I); scientific findings on the effects of particular forms of work organization and work stressors on employees' health, 'unhealthy work' as a major public health problem, and estimates of costs to employers and society (Part II); and, case studies and various approaches to improve working conditions, prevent disease, and improve health (Part III).

Such work draws on a style of investigation traditionally used by social anthropologists and included methods such as participant observation, unstructured interviews and documentary evidence. This range of research methods is commonly included under the term field research and qualitative methodology. It is the intention of these research annuals on qualitative research to take up issues and debates in this area that related to: methodology, the relationship between data collection and data analysis, the relationship between theory and method and the implications of qualitative research for social policy and evaluation."--Publisher's website.

This book was released on 2014-07-12 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Lifestyle-integrated Functional Exercise (LiFE) program is a way of reducing the risk of falls by integrating balance and strength activities into regular daily tasks. Unloading the dishwasher becomes an opportunity to improve strength. Brushing your teeth becomes an opportunity to improve balance. In the LiFE program, every daily task becomes an opportunity to improve balance and strength. This is a different approach to a traditional program where you would be required to complete a series of exercises a certain number of times a day for a set number of days each week. The trainer's manual outlines the principles of the LiFE program and provides a step-by-step guide for therapists and trainers to implement the program with their clients. It should be used in conjunction with the participant's manual so that the program is fully understood from both the trainer's and participant's perspectives.

Book Water Governance in the Netherlands

Download or read book Water Governance in the Netherlands written by Oecd and published by . This book was released on 2014-03-17 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report assesses the extent to which Dutch water governance is fit for future challenges and sketches an agenda for the reform of water policies in the Netherlands. It builds on a one-year policy dialogue with over 100 Dutch stakeholders, supported by robust analytical work and drawing on international best practice. The Netherlands is a pioneer country in water management. It is widely known for its track record in reclaiming land from the sea, as well as its world-class engineering, strong water industry, and agricultural performance. But are these assets enough to cope with current and future challenges? Or do these challenges call for different organisational settings? It is the purpose of the OECD-Netherlands water policy dialogue to address this question,by applying a lens to the current state of play in Dutch water management and identifying ways in which the governance framework can be adjusted so that it is "fit for the future". This report on the outcomes of the policy dialogue focuses on the close interconnection between water governance and water security, both now and in the future. It outlines an agenda for future water policies in the Netherlands, which can improve the country's capacity to cope with future trends driven by climate change, economic growth, demographic patterns or innovation.
