Book excerpt: Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3-12 (NIV) The Beatitudes are 8 blessings recounted by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount in the Gospel of Matthew. The Beatitudes are spoken in two parts: the CONDITION and the RESULT. With each Beatitude, Jesus gives new meaning to the Old Testament way of life by revealing that people who were perceived as "unfortunate" are the ones truly "blessed". Jesus teaches that the unpromising circumstances people suffer are what make them promisingly favored by God. The Greek word for Beatitude is "HAPPINESS", "Happy are those who..." Each week you will cover the Beatitudes beginning with the poor in spirit. My prayer is that in the coming weeks God will breathe new life into your difficult journey. I pray that by our Heavenly Father revealing His promises for us through His Word and prayer, you are consumed by the need to walk on water alongside Jesus, never to feel like you're drowning again. God's love and complete trust in YOU is what sets you and me apart as moms of special needs children.

Book excerpt: Does your life feel empty? Is there a space nothing seems to fill? Bethany Goethe started writing poetry over twenty years ago to fill a void and find her way to a path of healing. The creativity of writing and putting words on a page became a process of looking within to experience God's healing and love. Once she began to write, she couldn't stop! Bethany emerged a stronger person centered in the fullness of Christ. Words of poetry, prayers, and laughter just kept flowing, healing her soul. The void she once experienced became a blessing in disguise. It is her desire to share this piece of her soul with you in hopes that you will experience your own personal path to healing. Reflections by Bethany is a collection of poems that encompass her poetry, prayers to God, love for her family, and silly random thoughts that make her laugh. Laugh, cry, and heal along with Bethany as you read this beautiful book of poetry. About the Author: When she was young, Bethany L. Goethe had a dream she would later understand as her calling; to tell people about the Lord. Bethany found that when God calls us to ministry, sometimes it's to minister in our own little corner of the world. Now she ministers through her poetry. Though she is an ordinary woman living an ordinary life, her relationship with Christ has made her amazingly joyful. She has been happily married to her husband Brian Goethe for 40 years. They have two grown children and three wonderful grandchildren. She has a degree in Elementary Education and Language Arts but is now semi-retired. She enjoys spending time babysitting her grandchildren and writing poetry. Her purpose is to bring joy and blessings to all of her readers.

Book excerpt: The first title for this book was called My Prayer to My Love. It has always been a book from me to God and from Him back to me. It was 1999, I was away at Bible College in Sydney, Australia and God started giving me beautiful prayers and asking me to write them down and re-read them over to myself after I was done. When I would re-read the prayers I found I was weeping every time. He was expressing to me, through my own writing, how much He loved me. So much! It was then that He started leading me to put the prayers together in a book and to share the prayers with others. I gave them to only a handful of people, and watched as God started blessing their own prayer walks through these prayers. I realized that the prayers He was giving me were not sole for my benefit, growth and encouragement, but were meant for far more than just me. I feel honored that I am now able, 10 years later, to share these prayers with you. I pray they minister to you during different seasons of your walk and relationship with Him. And that they help you to grow closer and more intimate with Him, as you seek Him and His presence for every facet of your life. He really does love youso much!

Download or read book Another Job written by G. George and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2011-10-31 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The news reports were nonstop now, and for the rest of the world, this must have seemed like they were witnessing a made-for-television drama. One news anchor person said it like this: In an unprecedented chain of events, tonight the Bethany family has been decimated. In three separate but tragic accidents, Jo and Eva Bethany have lost their four children in one night. After all this family has endured over the past year, you would think that they have had their run of bad luck. But it seems that this is not the case. Remember the scandal involving George, the youngest Bethany, with the allegations of homosexuality-That cost him a lucrative baseball career. Then there was the allegation of an extramarital affair by the older brother James. That too turned out to be bogus. We also all remember the blockbuster trial of the decade in which Destiny Bethany-Lorber was found guilty only to be vindicated in open court at her sentencing. For years, this reporter thought the Bethany family was truly blessed. I now believe that they are the modern-day version of the Kennedys. This family must be cursed! How else would you explain this bizarre chain of events? Mmmmm. Thats my commentary, and thats the news for tonight. We know you have a lot of choices. . . Thank you for watching Firsthand Account News. Good night.
