Download or read book Best Scholarships for Studying in the UK written by Rajiv Immanuel and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2015-04-14 with total page 60 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Studying in a British university can change your life and prospects. British Universities are world class. Four British universities are in the worldwide top ten best universities. Eight British universities are in the global top 50 in the 2014 QS World University Rankings. 19 are in the top 100. An impressive 71 UK universities feature in the 2013/14 QS World University Rankings. Overall, there are a total of 29 UK higher education institutions in the global top 200, and 61 in the top 700. UK degrees are highly valued by employers worldwide. Looking at universities from the student side, the majority of UK students are happy with the quality of their university course, according to the UK National Student Survey (NSS) 2014. British universities are known for research excellence. While a degree from a British university ensures you a bright future, studying at Oxford university, Cambridge University, University College London or the London School of Economics can transform your life and your job prospects. It could also be the best use of your talents. The question is: can you can afford it? How much does a British education cost? Fees paid by English students at English universities (about 9,000 per year) are the highest in Europe. Students from European Union (EU) countries have to pay whatever fees are charged to local students in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Students from outside of the EU are charged a range of fees WITH NO UPPER LIMIT! Living expenses come to about 700-1,000 a month. This depends on which town/city the university is located in. The closer to London, the higher the cost of living. What happens if you cannot afford a British education? Relax, help is at hand. Studying in a British University need not cost you a fortune! Smart students know that there are scholarships that pay for fees, living expenses, warm clothing, and return air fares. This book list some of the best scholarships an international student (both European and non-European) can get. If you want to avoid paying fees, then it is high time to find an alternative. You don't want to break the bank or make poor mum and dad pay to put you through university? Show how savvy you are by finding your own source of funding to study in the UK. Researching scholarships can take ages. Trying to find your way through the maze of web pages can leave you bewildered and ruin your eyesight. You need to save your eyes for your studies. Attempting to make sense of the range of scholarships available would resemble the plight of a man who tried to swallow the ocean in order to avoid being drowned. If you are looking for a scholarship to study in the UK, this book has what you need. In this book are listed the major scholarships that students from most nationalities can go for. These ideas work. The author, Rajiv Immanuel, ought to know. He came to the UK on a scholarship (listed in this book) fully funded for three years. They paid his fees, living expenses, cost of warm clothes and even paid his return air fare. This was in 1995. This is better than what many local British students get nowadays (in his day, local students studied for free). Now, about twenty years on, Rajiv, a British citizen, is an author of 16 books preparing foreigners for UK life. Read and save yourself a lot of money! Funding for international students and EU students with financial need is highly competitive. So go quick!"

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Coming to live in a new country can be a great adventure filled with positive experiences, but it also carries some risks. Organisations like the British Council and various British universities are engaged in showcasing the positive aspects of UK student life and attracting the foreign student to study in the UK. No Briton or government department or British university is likely to tell you the truth about life in the UK. This is because they don't want to scare you away, or because they can't be objective being British themselves. This book is slightly different. Although it does showcase the positive aspects of studying in the UK it also helps you deal with the risks and dangers of UK life. Helping make your UK life a success is the goal of the author's books. His 12 books aim to explain what life in the UK is like with honesty and fairness. It is difficult to do that if you were born in the very society you are describing. People are human and bias is inherent in our worldview. The author is helped in his writings that he is not a Briton by birth. He can be that much more honest and fair in his description of life in the UK. This book, which focuses on studying in the UK, incorporates that approach. British Universities are world class. Four British universities are in the worldwide top ten best universities. Eight British universities are in the global top 50 in the 2014 QS World University Rankings. UK degrees are highly valued by employers worldwide. The majority (86%) of UK students are happy with the quality of their university course, according to the UK National Student Survey (NSS) 2014. A degree from a British university can change your life and your job prospects. This book has answers to questions that a foreign student planning to study in the UK would typically ask. It also answers questions on the UK student visa system. Choosing a good university to study is not merely a look at its worldwide academic ranking. You need to consider crime figures too when choosing a university. Which universities are located in crime hotspots? What cities/towns in the UK are known for high crime levels? What are the crime figures for London? These and many more questions are tackled in this guide.

Book The Ultimate Guide to Scholarships for Indian Citizens Planning to Study Abroad Get Access to Scholarships for Colleges Across USA Australia Europe

Download or read book The Ultimate Guide to Scholarships for Indian Citizens Planning to Study Abroad Get Access to Scholarships for Colleges Across USA Australia Europe written by Kumar Abhishek and published by . This book was released on 2016-12-11 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Attention! Are you from India and interested in studying abroad in the US, Europe, Australia or Canada? Sick of seeing scholarships only for local residents. Studying in a foreign university in a developed country has long been seen as a gateway to a better standard of living. This is either through the increased knowledge obtained or through the increased job opportunities that result from the knowledge. Universities in Europe, US, Australia and Canada expose all their students to people from different corners of the globe. Students do learn to work with people from different cultural backgrounds as well as learn skills that will make them more employable globally. Of course, it is important that they work hard once they get there and make the right decisions; but they definitely have the opportunity to a better life. However, people from India looking to study abroad have several obstacles that they need to overcome. The biggest burden is the financial one. People from upper middle class and rich families can afford the fees needed for the high grade of education. However, everyone else must scramble. There is the opportunity for graduate research and graduate teaching assistanships. But those who are not able to get these assistanships must rely on loans taken at very high interest rate in Indian banks. Given the cost of foreign education and salaries in India, it is almost impossible to pay off the loan with an Indian salary. So, there is huge pressure to get a job in the country of schooling. This can be difficult as most jobs cater towards those with local citizenship. From personal experiences with study abroad scholarships, I realize that most of the scholarships that are shown to students require citizenship or permanent residence of the local country. When I was at Georgia Tech, there were plenty of scholarships available to local residents of Georgia, USA. Most of the local students could cover their entire tuition with the scholarships. The international students were left hanging. To address this issue, our team looked at several programs, both in India and the developed countries. There are scholarships in USA, Australia, USA and Europe that are specific to students from developing countries to help educate their workforce. There are also scholarships by private and public organizations in India that are for Indian citizens. There are several universities that provide scholarships as well. This book is a compilation of several of the most prominent scholarships that could benefit you in your studies, and make a difference in your life. As a bonus for downloading this book, you will get an extra chapter on how to carry out an effective search for a desired scholarship and tips on how you can write a winning proposal. You will also get tips on how you can avoid being scammed amongst other beneficial insight. I would encourage you to go through the entire book as you may not really know what best suits your academic needs unless you have read all through the book. What's included in this book: List of scholarships for US universities List of scholarships for UK and European universities List of scholarships for Australian Universities List of scholarships for Canadian Universities How to effectively submit an application for a scholarship (Bonus) If this sounds like what you want, then this book is for you.
