Book Rolls Royce Silver Cloud The Complete Story

Download or read book Rolls Royce Silver Cloud The Complete Story written by James Taylor and published by The Crowood Press. This book was released on 2021-11-22 with total page 363 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Rolls-Royce company acquired Bentley Motors in 1931 and, although models continued to be produced with the Bentley name, they increasingly used many Rolls-Royce components. By the time the Silver Cloud and Bentley S were released in 1955, they were really differently badged versions of the same design. Yet the sporting tradition of the Bentley marque was upheld with the exotic Continental models that were derived from them. The Silver Cloud family represents a pinnacle for the Rolls-Royce company. The cars all had and still have a very special presence, and the standard saloons have an unsurpassed elegance and rightness of line. The special-bodied cars, meanwhile, are reminders of an age when the skill of the best coachbuilders was something deserving of universal admiration. With around 190 photographs, this book features: The story of the design and development of the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud and Bentley S Type; A look at the production development of these cars between 1955 and 1965; An examination of the Bentley Continental models that were derived from Silver Cloud and S Type design; The history of the Phantom V and Phantom VI limousine chassis introduced in 1959 and destined to last until 1990; Full technical specifications, including paint and interior trim choices; Production figures and chassis codes and finally, a chapter on buying and owning one of these wonderful classic cars.

Book Inside Relational Databases with Examples in Access

Download or read book Inside Relational Databases with Examples in Access written by Mark Whitehorn and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-04-06 with total page 376 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Contents Should we tell you the whole story? Of course, there is an inevitable tension in trying to work like this. For example, in Chapter 16 we talk about referential integrity. There are - sentially six different flavors of referential integrity but Access only s- ports four of them (they are the most important ones however, so you aren’t missing out on too much). The problem is this. Should we tell you about the other two? If we do, as an Access user you have every right to be annoyed that we are telling you about a feature you can’t use. On the other hand, the six different types that we describe are part of the re- tional world and this book is about that world – we are not trying to teach you how to use Access, we are simply using Access to illustrate the relational model. Ultimately we decided to risk your ire and to describe all of the features of the relational model as we see it, even if Access doesn’t support all of them. One advantage of this approach is that if you need to use a different database engine you will almost certainly find the extra information useful. Incidentally, this is not meant to imply that Access is somehow lacking as a relational database engine. The reason we chose it for the first book is that it is such a good example of a relational database tool.

Book Klemantaski

Download or read book Klemantaski written by Paul Parker and published by Motorbooks. This book was released on 2015-06-16 with total page 275 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: See the golden age of racing through hundreds of famed motorsports photographer Louis Klemantaski's greatest images, including many that have never been previously published. The next best thing to attending a race in person is the opportunity to relive it through high-quality photography. Most images merely document the event--rare are those photographs that capture the event. These are the photos that fans turn to again and again. Louis Klemantaski inserted himself into the action - whether that meant standing just off-course in a corner, roaming the paddock and infield, or riding shotgun in a Mille Miglia race car. In the process, he captured some of the most iconic images in motorsports, preserving these exciting events for all time. Louis Klemantaski is one of history's greatest motorsports photographers. The immediacy and excitement his images evoke are unsurpassed. He worked during what is often considered racing's golden era, that period immediately just prior to WWII through the early 1970s when the sport was still the province of passion and daring, before huge budgets and massive sponsorship forever changed its tenor. Klemantaski's subjects spanned road racing, Grand Prix, and F1 competition. Klemantaski: Master Motorsports Photographer is the only book in print devoted to the photographer's full body of work. Hundreds of the best Klemantaski images have been collected to provide the only opportunity to own and enjoy his key work in a single volume. No racing or photography fan will want to miss this book!
