Download or read book Relationships Between Personality Traits Physical Proficiency and Cadet Effectiveness Reports of Air Force Academy Cadets written by Ernest C. Tupes and published by . This book was released on 1960 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cadets in 3 Air Force Academy classes rated each other on 20 personality traits as well as on physical ability and officer potential. For two of the classes objective measures of physical proficiency were also available. Intercorrelation matrices within each class were analyzed to determine relationships between personality trait ratings and Cadet Effectiveness Ratings, and to determine the factor structure underlying the ratings. Traits such as responsibility, perseverance, good adjustment, poise, social polish, and social intelligence were most highly related to CERs, while traits of surgency or extroversion such as talkativeness, frankness, adventurousness and sociability bore little or no relationships to CERs. The major portion of individual differences in CERs are related to these personality trait ratings. When compared with OCS candidates and majors attending Command and Staff School, the Academy cadets were found to differ little from these groups in the pattern of the personality trait versus CER relationships. Five personality trait ratings were identified which correspond closely to the five (Surgency, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Emotional Stability, and Culture) found in other analyses. A sixth factor was identified as physical ability.

Download or read book Advanced Multitrait Multimethod Analyses for the Behavioral and Social Sciences written by Jonathan Lee Helm and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2021-07-19 with total page 243 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book integrates different perspectives on MTMM data analysis; weighing the benefits and drawbacks of one approach relative to others. This contrasts with most MTMM texts, which present the merits of one approach. Brings together "current best practice" on MTMM into a single authoritative reference. General courses on structural modeling have become core courses in most graduate departments of psychology, and structural modeling is becoming ever more important for the field. This book would therefore address an important, and growing, need for more cutting-edge material in a field growing in size and importance. Global appeal - lead US author, connections to the European EAM organization, and contributors from multiple countries. Due to the nature of the content in the book will also travel well.

Book excerpt: The fourth edition of this textbook offers a scientific and practical context within which to understand and conduct clinical assessments of children’s and adolescent’s personality and behavior. The volume is unique in providing both the scientific and ethical basis to guide psychological testing, as well as providing practical advice for using specific tests and assessing specific forms of psychopathology. This new edition: Highlights how current trends in psychological classification, such as the DSM-5 and the Research Domain Criteria, should influence the clinical assessment of children and adolescents. Provides updates to professional standards that should guide test users. Discusses practical considerations in planning and conducting clinical assessments. Evaluates the most recent editions of common tests used in the clinical assessment of child and adolescent personality and behavior.
