Book Begriffswelt der Feldtheorie

Download or read book Begriffswelt der Feldtheorie written by André Moliton and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006 with total page 513 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Optoelectronic devices are currently being developed at an extraordinary rate. Organic light-emitting diodes, photovoltaic devices and electro-optical modulators are pivotal to the future of displays, photosensors and solar cells, and communication technologies. This book details the theories underlying the mechanisms involved in the relevant organic materials and covers, at a basic level, how the organic components are made. The first part of the book introduces the fundamental theories used to describe ordered solids and goes onto detail on concepts applicable to localised energy levels. Then the methods used to determine energy levels particular to perfectly ordered molecular and macromolecular systems are discussed along with a detailed consideration of the effects of quasi-particles. The function of excitons and their transfer between two molecules is studied and, in addition, the problems associated with interfaces and charge injection into resistive media are presented. More technological aspects are covered in the second part, which details the actual methods used to fabricate devices based on organic materials, such as dry etching. The principal characterisation techniques are also highlighted. Specific attention is paid to visual displays using organic light-emitting diodes; the conversion of photons into electrical energy (the photovoltaic effect); and for communications and information technologies, the electro-optical modulation of signals.

Download or read book Field Theory Concepts written by Adolf J. Schwab and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Field Theory Concepts" is a new approach to the teaching and understanding of field theory. Exploiting formal analo- gies of electric, magnetic, and conduction fields and introducing generic concepts results in a transparently structured electomagnetic field theory. Highly illustrative terms alloweasyaccess to the concepts of curl and div which generally are conceptually demanding. Emphasis is placed on the static, quasistatic and dynamic nature of fields. Eventually, numerical field calculation algorithms, e.g. Finite Element method and Monte Carlo method, are presented in a concise yet illustrative manner.

Book Electrical Machines

Download or read book Electrical Machines written by Dieter Gerling and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2014-09-17 with total page 479 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electrical Machines and Drives play a vital role in industry with an ever increasing importance. This fact necessitates the understanding of machine and drive principles by engineers of many different disciplines. Therefore, this book is intended to give a comprehensive deduction of these principles. Special attention is given to the precise mathematical deduction of the necessary formulae to calculate machines and drives, and to the discussion of simplifications (if applied) with the associated limits. So the book shows how the different machine topologies can be deduced from general fundamentals, and how they are linked. This book addresses graduate students, researchers and developers of Electrical Machines and Drives, who are interested in getting knowledge about the principles of machine and drive operation and in detecting the mathematical and engineering specialties of the different machine and drive topologies together with their mutual links. The detailed, but compact mathematical deduction, together with a distinct emphasis onto assumptions, simplifications and the associated limits, leads to a clear understanding of Electrical Machine and Drive topologies and characteristics.

Two approaches were taken: computer simulations of the occurring electromagnetic field distributions and in-vitro experiments using phantoms in real MRI devices, both for conventional bore-hole and new open MRI systems. Using the open MRI, the observed heating could be reduced significantly.

Book Electronic Chips Systems Design Languages

Download or read book Electronic Chips Systems Design Languages written by Jean Mermet and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electronic Chips & Systems Design Languagesoutlines and describes the latest advances in design languages. The challenge of System on a Chip (SOC) design requires designers to work in a multi-lingual environment which is becoming increasingly difficult to master. It is therefore crucial for them to learn, almost in real time, from the experiences of their colleagues in the use of design languages and how these languages have become more advanced to cope with system design. System designers, as well as students willing to become system designers, often do not have the time to attend all scientific events where they could learn the necessary information. This book will bring them a selected digest of the best contributions and industry strength case studies. All the levels of abstraction that are relevant, from the informal user requirements down to the implementation specifications, are addressed by different contributors. The author, together with colleague authors who provide valuable additional experience, presents examples of actual industrial world applications. Furthermore the academic concepts presented in this book provide excellent theories to student readers and the concepts described are up to date and in so doing provide most suitable root information for Ph.D. postgraduates.
