Book excerpt: For ten years of Gray Rose's life she thought no other love could measure up to her long-time beau and baby's father, Gunz Marciano, until she met Cameron Parthens Jr. He came into her life and turned everything upside down with his devastating good looks, cocky demeanor, brash attitude and unfiltered way of speaking. When they first met it was hate at first sight. She'd never met someone so rude and hood in her life. Cam made it clear he didn't want a relationship. He just wanted to smash. Never in a million years did he plan on cuffin' Gray and making her his wife but over time he found his self fallin' hard for the plus-size, blue-eyed, half black and Korean beauty. Before Gray knew it, she too started catching feelings. She quickly found herself pullin' up every time he told her to fall through. Over the course of two months, she and Cam formed a bond built on friendship, honesty, unconditional support and mind-numbing sex. Tired of Gunz playing games with her mind and nonstop cheating, Gray chucked him up the deuce and married Cam on a whim. But marriage doesn't the fix the scars Gunz left behind. It forces her to realize she's far more insecure than she thought. Cam also has leftover baggage from a previous relationship and deep dark secrets that may scare Gray away. Will Cam live up to his wedding vow and be the man Gray believes he is, or will he leave her heart even more damaged and broken than Gunz did?

Book Testosterone Enhancer Beast Mode

Download or read book Testosterone Enhancer Beast Mode written by Shawn Burke and published by Estalontech. This book was released on 2019-11-15 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Don’t Want To Be A MONSTER? No Problem Some of you might only want to put on 20-30 pounds of lean muscle. That’s totally cool. Being a monster has its perks but it’s not for everyone. When you’re properly educated about testosterone, you can add as much mass as you like faster than you could ever dream of. It would be my honor to show you how... Testosterone is fuel for the male engine. It’s what gives us the drive to conquer and protect what’s ours. Testosterone also makes it easy for men to add muscle to their frame. If you stay flabby even when you workout, there’s a good chance low-testosterone is to blame. Something most people don’t know is that testosterone also makes men happy. The horror stories about “roid rage” are greatly exaggerated. Truth is, healthy levels of testosterone brighten your mood and help combat depression. Testosterone also keeps your sex drive running in high gear. Would you rather sit on the couch and watch football than sow your wild oats? If you said “yes” you need to pay close attention to what I’m about to share with you because it could transform your life… There's a testosterone crisis in the west and it’s sucking the life out of men. This is not a conspiracy. If the same old counting calories and running on a treadmill to get in shape is what you're comfortable with, then what I’m about to show you might be a little out there for you. As I researched the following Testosterone boosting advancements they seemed strange to me too, but when I tried them I was shocked by how well they worked. This is for men who want to be stronger, faster, and feel like they’re powered by a 1,000 horsepower V12 engine. Some of what you're about to discover is controversial. If doing HIIT and eating 6 meals a day is your idea of pushing your body to its limits, this probably isn’t for you. Look, I get it. Enhancing yourself can be scary for some men. But if you're adventurous and willing to try new things your reward can be a body other men envy. Testosterone Enhancer - Beast Mode Testosterone is fertilizer for muscles. It helps them grow big and strong. But that’s not all Testosterone does… It can put you in a great mood, give you mental clarity, and help you lose body fat. Testosterone is the closest thing to the fountain of youth you’re going to find. Testosterone can also be dangerous if it’s abused. Inside the Testosterone Enhancers Guide, you will discover… How to know if you’re suffering from low testosterone - there’s more to look for than just being tired and having a low sex drive What testosterone precursors are and how they can help you The important difference between the Testosterone Patch and Transdermal Testosterone Gel A study found that after 3 months this common food increased testosterone by almost 18% The many different types of injectable testosterone Testosterone side effects The dark side of steroids - how steroids can negatively impact your health Why Bioidentical hormones are preferable to Synthetic hormones How to stop hunger in its tracks so you can stay lean and enhance your natural testosterone production This lifestyle choice ravages your endocrine systems and sends your testosterone levels plummeting - if you’re no longer a young man the impact is even worse What you should eat first thing in the morning to stop your body from craving testosterone killing carbs

Book Relational Intelligence

Download or read book Relational Intelligence written by Dharius Daniels and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2020-01-28 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Relational Intelligence is your action plan for getting smart about who you surround yourself with. Using Jesus's relational framework for choosing the twelve disciples, this book gives you the tools you need to define, discern, align, assess, and activate your relationships to unlock your greatest potential. Years of ministry leadership experience have taught Dr. Dharius Daniels that there's no such thing as a casual relationship. All of our relationships either push us forward into our God-given purposes or hold us back from who we're meant to be. If you're serious about taking your life to the next level, you should be serious about taking your relationships to the next level, too. Scripture gives us a blueprint for the way relationships should be managed, and this blueprint helps us construct and grow relationships that are fruitful. It tells us that our spiritual, physical, financial, emotional, and professional progress is greatly impacted by who we allow to be a part of our lives and what part we allow them to play. Relational Intelligence reminds us that with our destiny on the line, relationships are too consequential to nonchalantly roll the dice in managing them. Daniels shows us that relationships were part of God's design, and when we understand and apply what God has to say about them, we can finally learn to: Reflect on the people that God has placed in our lives Avoid unnecessary relational turmoil Be intentional in each of our relationships Accomplish our God-given purpose When your purpose is on the line, the cost of relational unintelligence is too great to pay. Join Daniels as you uncover the secret to gaining the relational intelligence you need to build the purposeful life that you want.

Book 1668

    Book Details:
  • Author : Peter Sahlins
  • Publisher : Princeton University Press
  • Release : 2017-11-17
  • ISBN : 1935408275
  • Pages : 497 pages

Download or read book 1668 written by Peter Sahlins and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2017-11-17 with total page 497 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Peter Sahlins’s brilliant new book reveals the remarkable and understudied “animal moment” in and around 1668 in which authors (including La Fontaine, whose Fables appeared in that year), anatomists, painters, sculptors, and especially the young Louis XIV turned their attention to nonhuman beings. At the center of the Year of the Animal was the Royal Menagerie in the gardens of Versailles, dominated by exotic and graceful birds. In the remarkable unfolding of his original and sophisticated argument, Sahlins shows how the animal bodies of the menagerie and others (such as the dogs and lambs of the first xenotransfusion experiments) were critical to a dramatic rethinking of governance, nature, and the human. The animals of 1668 helped to shift an entire worldview in France — what Sahlins calls Renaissance humanimalism — toward more modern expressions of Classical naturalism and mechanism. In the wake of 1668 came the debasement of animals and the strengthening of human animality, including in Descartes’s animal-machine, highly contested during the Year of the Animal. At the same time, Louis XIV and his intellectual servants used the animals of Versailles to develop and then to transform the symbolic language of French absolutism. Louis XIV came to adopt a model of sovereignty after 1668 where his absolute authority is represented in manifold ways with the bodies of animals and justified by the bestial nature of his human subjects. 1668: The Year of the Animal in France explores and reproduces the king’s animal collections — in printed text, weaving, poetry, and engraving, all seen from a unique interdisciplinary perspective. Sahlins brings the animals of 1668 together and to life as he observes them critically in their native habitats — within the animal palace itself by Louis Le Vau, the paintings and tapestries of Charles Le Brun, the garden installations of André Le Nôtre, the literary work of Charles Perrault and the natural history of his brother Claude, the poetry of Madeleine de Scudéry, the philosophy of René Descartes, the engravings of Sébastien Leclerc, the trans_fusion experiments of Jean Denis, and others. The author joins the non_human and human agents of 1668 — panthers and painters, swans and scientists, weasels and weavers — in a learned and sophisticated treatment that will engage scholars and students of early modern France and Europe and readers broadly interested in the subject of animals in human history.

Book excerpt: We live in a radically skeptical age. Tough questions are being asked about Christianity. And most believers are ill-equipped to provide the answers our culture and communities desperately need. Many in today’s church do not know the Bible as well as they should and they struggle with their own “big questions” about the faith. After receiving more than four thousand questions at his Christian Thinkers Society events over the span of six years, Dr. Jeremiah Johnston began to recognize six categories of recurring, trending questions that dominated the rest. In Unanswered, he tackles these tough issues that plague the minds of believers but are rarely addressed in church, such as… Why is it that God often seems to remain silent? How can we trust in the bodily resurrection of Jesus, and what does it mean for us today? What do Christians need to understand about suicide and mental illness? How should Christians respond to spiritual darkness and the obsession with paranormal activity? Why is biblical illiteracy so dangerous for Christians and the church? Why do we experience suffering and pain? Unanswered will leave you enriched, characterized by a thinking faith, capable to communicate confidently, and committed to escape the tendency to offer trite answers to a skeptical world.

Download or read book The Color of Creatorship written by Anjali Vats and published by Stanford University Press. This book was released on 2020-09-29 with total page 358 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Color of Creatorship examines how copyright, trademark, and patent discourses work together to form American ideals around race, citizenship, and property. Working through key moments in intellectual property history since 1790, Anjali Vats reveals that even as they have seemingly evolved, American understandings of who is a creator and who is an infringer have remained remarkably racially conservative and consistent over time. Vats examines archival, legal, political, and popular culture texts to demonstrate how intellectual properties developed alongside definitions of the "good citizen," "bad citizen," and intellectual labor in racialized ways. Offering readers a theory of critical race intellectual property, Vats historicizes the figure of the citizen-creator, the white male maker who was incorporated into the national ideology as a key contributor to the nation's moral and economic development. She also traces the emergence of racial panics around infringement, arguing that the post-racial creator exists in opposition to the figure of the hyper-racial infringer, a national enemy who is the opposite of the hardworking, innovative American creator. The Color of Creatorship contributes to a rapidly-developing conversation in critical race intellectual property. Vats argues that once anti-racist activists grapple with the underlying racial structures of intellectual property law, they can better advocate for strategies that resist the underlying drivers of racially disparate copyright, patent, and trademark policy.
