Book Static and Dynamic Properties of Baryons and Hypernuclei

Download or read book Static and Dynamic Properties of Baryons and Hypernuclei written by Vinodkumar P C and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2015-06-05 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Baryons are not only the interesting systems to study the quark dynamics and their properties but are also interesting from the point of view of simple systems to study three body interactions. Baryon spectroscopy remains an active and lively field. The primary goal of hadron physics today is to determine the relevant degrees of freedom that govern the hadron phenomena at all scales, to establish the connection of degrees of freedom to the parameters and fundamental fields of QCD to quantitatively describe a wide array of hadron phenomena, ranging from its spectroscopy to their decay properties. Present work is particularly addressed to the baryons, hypernuclei and their properties.

Book Decay of Doubly Strange Hypernuclei

Download or read book Decay of Doubly Strange Hypernuclei written by Jordi Maneu Victoria and published by . This book was released on 2020 with total page 129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Double § hypernuclei are bound systems of several nucleons and two § hyperons. These systems are unstable with respect to the weak interaction and chiefly decay through two-body processes that conserve neither parity, isospin or strangeness. Among such processes we can find those mediated by the§N ! NN, §§ ! §n and §§ ! ßN reactions but also, thanks to the baryon channel mixing (§N ° ßN, §§ ° •N,§§ ° ßß) made possible by the strong interaction, the weak ßN ! NN, •N ! §n, •N ! ßN, ßß ! §n and ßß ! ßN channels. This work completes the study of the decay of double-§ hypernuclei by taking into account the microscopic effects of the strong interaction on two baryon states in strangeness sectors -2, -1 and 0, pertaining to the possible baryon-baryon states appearing in the initial and final states, as previously stated. The initial strangeness °2 wave function is obtained from the solution of a G-matrix equation with the input of realistic strong baryon-baryon potentials, while the final hyperon-nucleon wave functions are derived analogously from a microscopic T-matrix calculation. Consequently the opening of the channel induced by the •N pair (with a lower energy threshold than that corresponding to the ßß pair) had to be considered. In order to evaluate these new decay channels the potential that governs the •N interaction with a strangeness variation" -- TDX.

Book Strangeness Nuclear Physics Proceedings Of The Apctp Workshop Snp 99

Download or read book Strangeness Nuclear Physics Proceedings Of The Apctp Workshop Snp 99 written by Il-t Cheon and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2000-09-27 with total page 462 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The unique role of strangeness in nuclear physics has recently attracted much attention, from both the theoretical and experimental viewpoints. This is due not only to the broad spectrum of possible hadron many-body systems with strangeness, but also to the fact that strangeness gives us an opportunity to study fundamental baryon-baryon interactions in a new perspective. Our knowledge of this subject has widened as the scope of hypernuclear experiments has expanded from strangeness exchange and the associated production reactions to hypernuclear weak decays, β decays, cascade hypernuclei, double-Λ events, electroproduction of strangeness, etc. This trend will be accelerated by the full operation of new laboratories such as TJLab, COSY, DAΦNE, JHF, MAMI, and others. Various aspects of those important and exciting topics are discussed in this book in order to get a perspective of this fast developing area of nuclear physics.

Download or read book Mesons and Baryons written by A. V. Anisovich and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2008 with total page 603 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is devoted to the investigation of the strongly interacting hadrons ? to a quark model operating with effective color particles, constituent quarks, massive effective gluons and diquarks. The study of strong interactions based on effective constituent particles requires a solid ground of experimental data, which we now have at our disposal with the serious progress made in the investigation of hadrons, especially meson states. The present understanding of QCD applied to strong interactions can be distorted by prejudices. Therefore, the way followed by the quark model is to rely on the experiment and to restore the effective Hamiltonian on the basis of QCD on the one hand, and, on the other, of the spectral integral method.Baryon-baryon and antibaryon-baryon interactions are studied with the purpose of unambiguous applications of the written formulae to the interpretation of experimental data ? to the observation of new meson and baryon resonances. The technique used is the spin-orbital momentum expansion of the amplitude. This method is our basic approach to the proper treatment of experimental data. The photon-induced reactions are also considered and the problem of form factors is discussed.
