Download or read book Barker s Grub written by Rudy Edalati and published by Crown. This book was released on 2010-02-17 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Canine Cooking That Will Have Them Begging for More Which do you think your dog would prefer: dry kibble, mushy canned food, or a nice, nutritionally sound helping of Tuna Togetherness? Not surprisingly, most dogs would be happier -- and healthier -- with the latter, considering the dangerous preservatives, questionable ingredients, and mysterious flavoring agents often used in commercial dog food. That's why Rudy Edalati cooked up Barker's Grub, a cookbook filled with wholesome, easy-to-prepare meals for your mutt or your pedigreed pooch -- and you'll find all the necessary ingredients in your fridge or at the local supermarket. She includes not only fun everyday meals, but healing meals for specific health problems, as well as special diets for different life stages, such as: * Lo Mein Barking Style: the doggie alternative for Chinese takeout * Beef Puppy Food: just the right mix for a growing dog * Davie's Juicy Jiggly-Wiggly Anemia Diet: a blood-boosting dish of liver, rice, and spinach Barker's Grub is informative (there's lots of canine nutritional information to chew on), inspiring, and just plain fun. The recipes are simple and quick -- after all, it's not just about health and longevity, it's about making the most of the time you and your dog spend together.

Book excerpt: This Text-book traces the evolution of the newspaper, documenting its changing form, style and content as well as identifying the different roles ascribed to it by audiences, government and other social institutions. Starting with the early 17th century, when the first prototype newspapers emerged, through Dr Johnson, the growth of the radical press in the early 19th century, the Lord Northcliffe revolution in the early 20th century, the newspapers wars of the 1930s and the rise of the tabloid in the 1970s, right up to Rupert Murdoch and the online revolution, the book explores the impact of the newspapers on our lives and its role in British society. Using lively and entertaining examples, Kevin Williams illustrates the changing form of the newspaper in its social, political, economic and cultural context. As well as telling the story of the newspaper, he explores key topics in detail, making this an ideal text for students of journalism and the British newspaper. Download or read book The Sublime Secret written by Sal Godinho and published by Archway Publishing. This book was released on 2021-10-25 with total page 351 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1919, a young man, Barker, returns to his family farm in historic South Carolina, near a quince plantation. He is searching for the answers to the pain he feels from the loss of his parents in a tragic accident. Inspired by the legendary properties of quince, the forgotten fruit, Barker seeks insight into not only his own misfortune, but also, as it turns out, all gun-inflicted tragedies, from war to children at schools, marring an otherwise peaceful society. Such quest is increased by his captivation of a beautiful heiress, Polly, the owner of the quince farm, who happens to be friends with an elderly man, Gunter, known as the quince prophet. Gunter advocates a way of life designed to preserve the living Earth and eliminate further tragedies. Barker’s exalted love for Polly undergoes radical changes as he, along with her, absorb deeper knowledge. The striking unexpected resolution of Barker’s quest for enlightenment and peace and finding his place in the spirit of the Universe is revealed in the prescient pages of The Sublime Secret.
Download or read book A Biographical Dictionary of Actors Volume 1 Abaco to Belfille written by Philip H. Highfill, Jr. and published by SIU Press. This book was released on 1973-12 with total page 472 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tobe completed in 12volumes, this monumental work here begins publication with the first two volumes--Abaco to Bertie and Bertin to Byzard. When completed, it is expected that the biographical dictionary will include information on more than 8,500 individuals. Hundreds of printed sources have been searched for this project, and dozens of repositories combed, and the names of personnel listed have been filtered through parish registers whenever possible. From published and unpublished sources, from wills, archives of professional societies and guilds, from records of colleges, universities, and clubs, and from the contributions of selfless scholars, the authors have here assembled material which illuminates theatrical and musical activity in London in the 1660-1800 period. The information here amassed will doubtless be augmented by other specialists in Restoration and eighteenth-century theatre and drama, but it is not likely that the number of persons now known surely or conjectured finally to have been connected with theatrical enterprise in this period will ever be increased considerably. Certainly, the contributions made here add immeasurably to existing knowledge, and in a number of instances correct standard histories or reference works. The accompanying illustrations, estimated to be some 1,400 likenesses--at least one picture of each subject for whom a portrait exists--may prove to be a useful feature of the Work. The authors have gone beyond embellishment of the text, and have attempted to list all original portraits any knowledge of which is now recoverable, and have tried to ascertain the present location of portraits in every medium.
