Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This segment of the beginning of Ma'atic Balance: The Law of Unity of Opposites demonstrates throughout each chapter the composer's dexterous ability to be in sync and command of his acute intellectual quality of intuition. A phenomenal craftiness of a unique, dramatic, and poetic style of harmony and balance that is based solely on how our souls, or that spirit mind (consciousness), is in accord or synchronized with our equilibrium, which is a state of balance between two opposing forces, powers, or influences that's correlative to one another, and neither one cannot function as a whole without the other. Or, for example, physics—Sir Albert Einstein's two-part theory that mass and energy are equivalent, that space and time are relative concepts, and that gravitational and inertial forces are equivalent. I think Mr. Stein called it relativity! Yeah. Re-la-ti-vi-ty. A new sense of acuteness cannot be attained without its essence being provoked to intercede through meditation, relaxation, and uttermost erudition of phenomenal intuition that's beyond normal sensory perception or contact; which is said and understood as the unification (or whole) of the self with the supreme being. An unfortunate event; and heavy-hearted disconcerted conditions propelled evincible. Shiny emerald – trimmed gold! Showcasing ma'atic balance.

Book Unity Of Nature The Wholeness And Disintegration In Ecology And Science

Download or read book Unity Of Nature The Wholeness And Disintegration In Ecology And Science written by Alan Marshall and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2002-10-04 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The idea behind The Unity of Nature is a strong theoretical theme in a number of scientific and environmental fields from ecosystems ecology, through quantum physics to environmental philosophy and ecopolitics giving rise to an inspiring, optimistic, socially-responsive and environment-friendly worldview. The fields of science and environmentalism have inherited this theme of natural unity through an intellectual lineage that encompasses many non-scientific and non-environmental fields such as sociology, theology and political philosophy. Many of these fields have used natural unity in a way which is in stark opposition to the metaphysical and political desires of those who promulgate the unity of nature for progressive social change. This book discusses how this has transpired and examines the social and intellectual processes that have been at work. These include the social construction of the Organicism versus Mechanicism debate in ecology, the intellectual links between neo-classical economic principles and the ‘New Sciences’, the techno-scientific background of Gaia theory, and the social conservatism of ecological functionalism.

Book Vestments for All Seasons

    Book Details:
  • Author : Barbara Dee Bennett
  • Publisher : Church Publishing, Inc.
  • Release : 2002-12-01
  • ISBN : 0819225347
  • Pages : 151 pages

Download or read book Vestments for All Seasons written by Barbara Dee Bennett and published by Church Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2002-12-01 with total page 151 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A complete guide to what clergy wear, including the various cloths, a brief history, and theology of each liturgical garment. Vestments—the robes, stoles or other items worn by clergy, or cloths used at the altar—not only add beauty to a worship service, but are visual clues to the liturgical season and to the tone of a particular service. The most beautiful and meaningful vestments are often those made for a particular priest, serving in a specific sanctuary. But many shy away from trying to sew vestments, which seem too complicated and difficult to make. In Vestments for All Seasons, Barbara Baumgarten demystifies the making of vestments—from designing and fitting patterns, to fabric and color selection, to putting on the finishing touches. She provides patterns and directions for producing special vestments for Advent and Lent, Easter, and Pentecost, and general instructions for designing and making vestments completely from scratch. A history of the development of vestments from Roman times to the present is included, as well as a full glossary describing the various vestments worn by clergy, bishops, deacons, and choir.

Book Pursuit of Unity

Download or read book Pursuit of Unity written by Michael Perman and published by Univ of North Carolina Press. This book was released on 2010-01-01 with total page 407 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Pursuit of Unity, Michael Perman presents a comprehensive analysis of the South's political history. In the 1800s, the region endured almost continuous political crisis--nullification, secession, Reconstruction, the Populist revolt, and disfranchisement. For most of the twentieth century, the region was dominated by a one-party system, the "Solid South," that ensured both political unity internally and political influence in Washington. But in both centuries, the South suffered from the noncompetitive, one-party politics that differentiated it from the rest of the country. Since the passage of the Voting Rights Act in 1965, Perman argues, the South's political distinctiveness has come to an end, as has its pursuit of unity.

Book excerpt: Presenting cutting-edge insights into the current state of EU legislation, this book addresses the profound changes that the EU’s legislature has undergone in recent years and how these shape the development of EU law. Book Negotiating Unity and Diversity in the European Union

Download or read book Negotiating Unity and Diversity in the European Union written by Florian Bieber and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-10-21 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores how the European Union has been responding to the challenge of diversity. In doing so, it considers the EU as a complex polity that has found novel ways for accommodating diversity. Much of the literature on the EU seeks to identify it as a unique case of cooperation between states that moves past classic international cooperation. This volume argues that in order to understand the EU’s effort in managing the diversity among its members and citizens it is more effective to look at the EU as a state. While acknowledging that the EU lacks key aspects of statehood, the authors show that looking at the EU efforts to balance diversity and unity through the lens of state policy is a fruitful way to understand the Union. Instead of conceptualising the EU as being incomparable and unique which is neither an international organisation nor a state, the book argues that EU can be understood as a polity that shares many approaches and strategies with complex and diverse states. As such, its effort to build political structures to accommodate diversity offers lessons to other such polities. The experience of the EU contributes to the understanding of how states and other polities can respond to challenges of diversity, including both the diversity of constituent units or of sub-national groups and identities.

Book The New State

    Book Details:
  • Author : Mary Parker Follett
  • Publisher :
  • Release : 1920
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 414 pages

Download or read book The New State written by Mary Parker Follett and published by . This book was released on 1920 with total page 414 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Having organized neighborhood discussion groups before World War I, Follett traces the dynamics she noticed in these forums and develops some core concepts useful for those working on questions of public deliberation today. She also shows how deliberation informs debates that raged in political theory during her own era. She discusses the works of pluralists (Harold Laski), idealists (T. H. Green and Bernard Bosanquet), and pragmatists (William James) and makes important arguments about the relationship between socialism and democracy. Her work is marked by rigorous thinking about the implications of democratic principles as they relate to political and socioeconomic organization. This book articulates the formation of a so-called new state, growing out of the local activities of citizens and renews the American idea of federalism in order to balance local activities and national purposes.

Book excerpt: Creative Art: Methods and Materials educates readers about a variety of art methods and the ways different civilizations have used them in artistic expression. Each of the fourteen chapters is designed around a specific art method and material, and includes examples of art works and the artists who created them. Students learn about bronze casting, stone carving, clay sculpture, woodcuts and posters, glass work, and installation art. Each method is matched to artists both ancient and modern. Rather than adhering to a standard approach that focuses on white, male, European artists, the book broadens the student's perspective by including often overlooked female artists. Global in approach and comprehensive in coverage of arts forms, representations, and styles throughout history, Creative Art has been developed for sixteen-week courses in art appreciation, or introductory survey courses in art history.
