Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Real Self People are instilled with Spiritual Elements (e.g. Unconditional Love) pre-Earthly birth + with their Unconscious Minds yoked to God's Mind. As newborns, they possess the Selfhood Synthesis Duality Coin of their Higher (Divinity) Self being partnered to a purified Lower (Animalistic) Self. Both assist as "Force Multipliers" in making Foundational building blocks for Right Life Thinking/Living out of ingredients produced by the God/Human yoking. Because each building block contains God's Substance-any part of a block is a Sample, called an Attribute--a Spiritual Essence. By containing God's intelligent active Spirit, each Attribute is a Force above humans' comprehension. Each serves as a Standard for humans to compare against what is thought, felt, said, or done. Every Essence has Essentials called Character, Traits, Features, and Characteristics-none able to be separated into simpler parts-all remain Unity interconnected throughout evolution. Attributes can be arranged/rearranged, combined/re-combined to fashion ways for handling life's worst problems within African Tradition's Subjective/Objective Science context processes. The orchestrating "tools" are ones Pre-Birth Emotions/Intellect. Resultant products contribute to any Spiritual, Spiritual/Metaphysical, Spiritual/Metaphysical/Physical Creation, Invention, Discovery, or Innovation required. Those products are applied to forming Human Ideals-first, for Creating, Enhancing, and Maintaining Harmony; second, for assisting in Reducing, Preventing, and/or Defending against Disharmony. By remaining in the flow of Cosmic Laws, one makes "ME/WE" gifts for all needed by ones Self and the "WE," including the yet unborn. One uses them to design Right Life Thinking/Living stepping stones to Uplift "ME/WE" family patterns + lead to "ME/WE" Thriving and Well-Being.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A student's entire journey along the educational spectrum is affected by what occurs—and, crucially, by what does not occur—before the age of eight or nine. Yet early learning has never received the attention it deserves and needs. In his latest book, education expert Gene Maeroff takes a hard look at early learning and the primary grades of schooling. Building Blocks offers a concrete and groundbreaking strategy for improving early education. Filled with colorful descriptions and anecdotes from Maeroff's visits to schools around the country, Building Blocks creates a rich portrait of education in America, ranging from math lessons imported from Singapore in Massachusetts to serious but joyful kindergartens in California. He speaks of the need for schools to prepare for the burgeoning enrollment of youngsters from immigrant families and for all children to acquire the habits and dispositions that will make them committed and productive students. Maeroff issues a call to action for policy makers and parents alike.

Book Approaches to Lucretius

Download or read book Approaches to Lucretius written by Donncha O'Rourke and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2020-07-16 with total page 339 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Both in antiquity and ever since the Renaissance Lucretius' De Rerum Natura has been admired – and condemned – for its startling poetry, its evangelical faith in materialist causation, and its seductive advocacy of the Epicurean good life. Approaches to Lucretius assembles an international team of classicists and philosophers to take stock of a range of critical approaches to which this influential poem has given rise and which in turn have shaped its interpretation, including textual criticism, the text's strategies for engaging the reader with its author and his message, the 'atomology' that posits a correlation of the letters of the poem with the atoms of the universe, the literary and philosophical intertexts that mediate the poem, and the political and ideological questions that it raises. Thirteen essays take up a variety of positions within these traditions of interpretation, innovating within them and advancing beyond them in new directions.

  • Author : Jean-Michel Muller
  • Publisher : Birkhäuser
  • Release : 2016-11-16
  • ISBN : 1489979832
  • Pages : 297 pages

Download or read book Elementary Functions written by Jean-Michel Muller and published by Birkhäuser. This book was released on 2016-11-16 with total page 297 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This textbook presents the concepts and tools necessary to understand, build, and implement algorithms for computing elementary functions (e.g., logarithms, exponentials, and the trigonometric functions). Both hardware- and software-oriented algorithms are included, along with issues related to accurate floating-point implementation. This third edition has been updated and expanded to incorporate the most recent advances in the field, new elementary function algorithms, and function software. After a preliminary chapter that briefly introduces some fundamental concepts of computer arithmetic, such as floating-point arithmetic and redundant number systems, the text is divided into three main parts. Part I considers the computation of elementary functions using algorithms based on polynomial or rational approximations and using table-based methods; the final chapter in this section deals with basic principles of multiple-precision arithmetic. Part II is devoted to a presentation of “shift-and-add” algorithms (hardware-oriented algorithms that use additions and shifts only). Issues related to accuracy, including range reduction, preservation of monotonicity, and correct rounding, as well as some examples of implementation are explored in Part III. Numerous examples of command lines and full programs are provided throughout for various software packages, including Maple, Sollya, and Gappa. New to this edition are an in-depth overview of the IEEE-754-2008 standard for floating-point arithmetic; a section on using double- and triple-word numbers; a presentation of new tools for designing accurate function software; and a section on the Toom-Cook family of multiplication algorithms. The techniques presented in this book will be of interest to implementers of elementary function libraries or circuits and programmers of numerical applications. Additionally, graduate and advanced undergraduate students, professionals, and researchers in scientific computing, numerical analysis, software engineering, and computer engineering will find this a useful reference and resource. PRAISE FOR PREVIOUS EDITIONS “[T]his book seems like an essential reference for the experts (which I'm not). More importantly, this is an interesting book for the curious (which I am). In this case, you'll probably learn many interesting things from this book. If you teach numerical analysis or approximation theory, then this book will give you some good examples to discuss in class." — MAA Reviews (Review of Second Edition) "The rich content of ideas sketched or presented in some detail in this book is supplemented by a list of over three hundred references, most of them of 1980 or more recent. The book also contains some relevant typical programs." — Zentralblatt MATH (Review of Second Edition) “I think that the book will be very valuable to students both in numerical analysis and in computer science. I found [it to be] well written and containing much interesting material, most of the time disseminated in specialized papers published in specialized journals difficult to find." — Numerical Algorithms (Review of First Edition)

Book The Nonlinear World

    Book Details:
  • Author : Yoshitsugu Oono
  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 2012-10-30
  • ISBN : 4431540296

Download or read book The Nonlinear World written by Yoshitsugu Oono and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-10-30 with total page 307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The most important characteristic of the “world filled with nonlinearity” is the existence of scale interference: disparate space–time scales interfere with each other. Thus, the effects of unknowable scales invade the world that we can observe directly. This leads to various peculiar phenomena such as chaos, critical phenomena, and complex biological phenomena, among others. Conceptual analysis and phenomenology are the keys to describe and understand phenomena that are subject to scale interference, because precise description of unfamiliar phenomena requires precise concepts and their phenomenological description. The book starts with an illustration of conceptual analysis in terms of chaos and randomness, and goes on to explain renormalization group philosophy as an approach to phenomenology. Then, abduction is outlined as a way to express what we have understood about the world. The book concludes with discussions on how we can approach genuinely complex phenomena, including biological phenomena. The main target of this volume is young people who have just started to appreciate the world seriously. The author also wishes the book to be helpful to those who have been observing the world, but who wish to appreciate it afresh from a different angle.

Book English in Modern Times

Download or read book English in Modern Times written by Joan C Beal and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-02-24 with total page 281 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: English in Modern Times describes the development of the English language from 1700 until 1945, and argues that it is in the course of this later modern English period that the characteristics of 'modern' English evolved. This is the first undergraduate text to cover the whole of this important period, which has been called the 'Cinderella' of English historical linguistics because of its lack of representation in scholarly literature. This book is sociohistorical in orientation, arguing that social changes in the Anglophone world need to be taken into account if we are to understand the linguistic changes that occurred during this period. Further chapters deal with changes in vocabulary, syntax and morphology and phonology and with the attempts of lexicographers, grammarians and elocutionists to arrest and control these changes by codifying the language. Unlike many earlier histories of English, 'English in Modern Times' does not define 'English' as confined to Standard (English) English, but also considers the development of extraterritorial Englishes and non-standard varieties of British English in the Later Modern period.
