Book Islam s First Arrow

Book excerpt: "This study will seek to explain the Battle of Badr as a decisive event in Islamic history. The thesis draws on the classical theorists in military history and attempts to discover what battle is and the purpose it serves. It seeks to define the mechanism that each theorist understood created decision in battle. A further analysis of modern historians and scholars are looked at in order to apply their criteria to Badr. This thesis provides a review of the events that took place at Badr in 624 in the Hijaz of Saudi Arabia. It details the battle itself, including the actions of the belligerents on either side and some of the tactics employed by both forces. This study shows how militant Islamic terrorist leaders, like Osama bin Laden, Sayyid Qutb, Ayman al-Zawahiri, and Ibn Taymiyyah, have used the rhetoric of Badr in their writings and speeches to galvanize people for their cause. The conclusions the author makes is that the Battle of Badr was a decisive battle in Islamic history because it provided immediate and long-term social and political effects. The battle's outcome provided Muhammad immediate legitimacy in the region and provided future radical ideologues with a rhetorical device to further their message. The study concludes with various methods to counter the master narrative that Badr is a part."--Abstract.

Book The Unveiling Origin of Mecca

Download or read book The Unveiling Origin of Mecca written by Mohammed Alal Khan and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2021-09-12 with total page 807 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Unveiling Origin of Mecca provides insights into the history of Kaaba (Ka’ba) in Mecca. The Ka’ba is the first house built on earth. It is one of the few and perhaps the only Islamic History books that looks at modern archaeological evidence and the Holy Quran and the history of the Quran to explore the proper location of the Ka’ba. The author notes that in the Holy Quran, Mecca, sometimes also called Becca, which words are synonymous, and signify “a place of great intercourse,” is undoubtedly one of the most ancient cities in the world. Some authors imagine it to be the Mesa, or Mesha, of the Scripture and that it deduced its name from one of Ishmael’s sons. It stands in a stony and barren valley, surrounded by mountains under the exact parallel with the Macoraba of Ptolemy, and about 40 Arabian miles from the sea 'Al Kolzom. There is a magnificent temple in the city, like the Colosseum at Rome. However, it is not made of such large stones but burnt bricks and round in the same manner. It has ninety or one hundred doors around it and is arched...upon entering the temple you descend ten or twelve steps of marble, and here and there about the said entrance there stand men who sell jewels and nothing else. Researching ancient Islam and the origin of Mecca, the author asserts that the Ka’ba is currently misplaced, contradicting the Holy Quran and Arabian geography. Although there are many Islamic scholars and Quran research Institutes throughout the world, sadly, none of them have yet verified the exact places, mountains surrounding Ka’ba, and its sacred area according to the Holy Quran.

Book excerpt: The Battle of Badr (Arabic: غَزْوَةُ بَدِرْ Arabic pronunciation: [ɣaz'wat'u ba'dir]), also referred to as The Day of the Criterion (Arabic: يَوْمُ الْفُرْقَانْ, Arabic pronunciation: [jawm'ul fur'qaːn]) in the Qur'an and by Muslims, was fought on 13 March 624 CE (17 Ramadan, 2 AH), [2] near the present-day city of Badr, Al Madinah Province in Saudi Arabia. Muhammad, commanding an army of his Sahaba, defeated an army of the Quraysh led by Amr ibn Hishām, better known as Abu Jahl. The battle marked the beginning of the six-year war between Muhammad and his tribe. Prior to the battle, the Muslims and the Meccans had fought several smaller skirmishes in late 623 and early 624. Muhammad took keen interest in capturing Meccan caravans after his migration to Medina, seeing it as repayment for his people, the Muhajirun. A few days before the battle, when he learnt of a Makkan caravan returning from the Levant led by Abu Sufyan ibn Harb, Muhammad gathered a small expeditionary force to capture it. Abu Sufyan, learning of the Muslim plan to ambush his caravan, changed course and took a longer route away from Muhammad's base at Medina and sent a messenger to Mecca, asking for help. Abu Jahl commanded an army nearly one-thousand strong, approaching Badr and encamping at the sand dune al-'Udwatul Quswa. Badr was the first large-scale engagement between the Muslims and Quraysh Meccans. Advancing from the north, the Muslims faced the Meccans. The battle began with duels between the warriors on both sides, following which the Meccans charged upon the Muslims under a cover of arrows. The Muslims countered their charge and broke the Meccan lines, killing several important Quraishi leaders including Abu Jahl and Umayyah ibn Khalaf. The Muslim victory strengthened Muhammad's position; The Medinese eagerly joined his future expeditions and tribes outside Medina openly allied with Muhammad.[3] The battle has been passed down in Islamic history as a decisive victory attributable to divine intervention, and by other sources to the strategic prowess of Muhammad.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: No topic has captured the public imagination of late quite so dramatically as the specter of global jihadism. While much has been said about the way jihadists behave, their ideology remains poorly understood. As the Levant has imploded and millenarian radicals claim to have revived a Caliphate based on the teachings of the Prophet Mohammed, the need for a nuanced and accurate understanding of jihadist beliefs has never been greater. Shiraz Maher charts the intellectual underpinnings of salafi-jihadism from its origins in the mountains of the Hindu Kush to the jihadist insurgencies of the 1990s and the 9/11 wars. What emerges is the story of a pragmatic but resilient warrior doctrine that often struggles - as so many utopian ideologies do - to consolidate the idealism of theory with the reality of practice. His ground-breaking introduction to salafi-jihadism recalibrates our understanding of the ideas underpinning one of the most destructive political philosophies of our time by assessing classical works from Islamic antiquity alongside those of contemporary ideologues. Packed with refreshing and provocative insights, Maher explains how war and insecurity engendered one of the most significant socio-religious movements of the modern era.

When he arrives in Cairo, a sphere with a source of unknown, shining like a fireball with a big explosion, descends from the sky and illuminates the whole city with its light in the uninhabited desert somewhere near the Great Pyramids. Meanwhile, John Smith, who was close to the incident, received a very important information from his friend Gregory, about analyzing the symbols and what the symbols on it were saying and when he returned to his hotel, his car stopped suddenly after that explosion. A mysterious hand touches the back of his car and he shouts 'Help!' But that night he has never even passed through his mind that the person, whom he will take in his car, is the one who will change the future and will be one of the most important figures in the history of mankind that three great religions await. At the same time, John's friend Professor Gregory Kravnik and his assistant Katya, who have been working at Archeology Institute of Cairo State University, is about to uncover the world's most mysterious sect, which has changed the history of the world and had kept a secret for 500 years. However, Gregory and John will find out before it's too late that these two big secrets with the same goal have a very important connection with the light sphere descending into the desert that night. Moreover, this Earth's Biggest Secret that they will learn that night, has the power to change all known Religions History. All these connections and codes point to a very important event that could change the world in 2036. But it won't be easy for them to learn this, a deadly hustle and bustle waiting for them will also start at the same time. All intelligence organizations around the world including Vatican, FBI and CIA, are into this incident and besides, John and his family's life are now in danger.
