A native of Oklahoma, Judge Doyel received his law degree (JD) from the University of Oklahoma and a master of laws (LLM) and doctorate (SJD) from the University of Wisconsin. Before going on the bench, he was a law school professor and a board certified trial and appellate lawyer. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War.
