Download or read book Mesospheric Models and Related Experiments written by G. Fiocco and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In July 1967 ESRIN and ESLAB, the two ESRO laboratories primarily concerned with basic research, held a joint symposium on Satellite and Rocket Measurements of Corpuscular Radiation from Outer Space. This was followed in September 1968 by a second symposium: Low-Frequency Waves and Irregularities in the Ionosphere; and in September 1969 by a third: Intercorrelated Satellite Observations Related to Solar Events. A fourth symposium, on upper atmospheric models and related experiments, took place in Frascati, 6-10 July 1970. The main aim of the symposium was to ~ssess current experimental work - both field and laboratory - related to mesospheric struc ture and composition, in the light of theoretical work on atmospheric models and atomic and molecular processes. To foster an interdisciplinary approach, the meeting brought together approximately 50 scientists working with different techniques but having a common interest in the interpretation of meso spheric phenomena. Recent work such as that presented at the symposium has deepened our knowledge of upper atmospheric composition, and increased our understanding of upper atmo spheric temperature and dynamics. In particular, it has shown that the concentration of minor species in the atmosphere is somewhat different than expected. Theoretical models have not yet considered many of the minor constituents and have generally not included dynamical effects. It is now time to reconsider these models and elaborate them in the light of recent knowledge.

Download or read book How Awesome Is This Place Genesis 28 written by E. Donald Osuna and published by eBookIt.com. This book was released on 2011-06-07 with total page 135 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "How Awesome Is This Place" is the story of how the Cathedral in Oakland California became a "liturgical Mecca with a national reputation." It unfolded in the l960s through the 1980s, decades fraught with turmoil within the country and the Catholic Church. Father Don Osuna, cathedral music and worship director for nineteen years (ten as rector) recalls in graphic and entertaining detail how one congregation successfully gave a form and face to the radical reforms of the Second Vatican Council. His memoir is a fascinating snapshot into the soul of a community struggling to realize Pope John XXIII's vision of the Church in the modern world. The creative liturgical "experiments" embraced all the arts, including film, choreography and electronic music, in the service of worship. This combination of art and rubric, innovation and tradition was not without controversy. Nor were some of the principal players. But not even a clerical "scandal" and a Prodigal Son "sequel" was able to destroy a parish and a people that learned to pray, minister and grow spiritually together. It took an unexpected act of God to bring down the "awesome place."

Download or read book Nailing It written by Robert L. Dilenschneider and published by Citadel. This book was released on 2021-12-28 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This inspiring and encouraging book from respected consultant Robert L. Dilenschneider provides 25 fascinating and diverse profiles of iconic men and women that show where they were at or near age 25—and how they built their legacies across a range of careers, including the arts, business, science, and government. With a foreword from U.S. Ambassador Donald Blinken. Do you think Albert Einstein had his act together by his mid-20s? Think again. Would you assume style icon and humanitarian Audrey Hepburn’s life was always as beautiful as she was? Far from it. At the other end of the spectrum is the revolutionary Steve Jobs, who was at the top of his game by age 25. But Jobs’s beginnings were marked by his adoption, displacement, bullying, and then a rocky personal life. This absorbing book examines the trajectories of 25 iconic figures—from Toni Morrison to Albert Einstein and Golda Meir to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart—to reveal where they were in their lives in their mid-twenties and the choices that enabled them to make their historic marks. For those who are coming of age now, and for those who care about them and their futures, these captivating profiles provide inspiration, instruction, and encouragement. The profiles in Path to Greatness will be real-life examples of the fact that the turning points that lead to success and happiness come at different times and as a result of different conditions. Some people create their own turning points, other people build on what happens to them. Many people who seemed to "have their act together" at age 25, had already weathered difficult beginnings to their lives; their turning points came early. And other people who didn't even have an act at age 25, went on to make profound contributions to the world; their turning points came with maturity. This book will remind readers that it is never too late to make an impact.
