Book Awaken and Stir up the Gift of Love

Download or read book Awaken and Stir up the Gift of Love written by Elnora Wilson and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2017-12-14 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Awaken and Stir Up the Gift of Love will reveal what love is and what it is not. It is a tool to challenge your ability to love others the way you would like to be loved. Elnora Wilson wants to show you the different types of love and the experiences you may face. Eros: sexual passion Phileo: brotherly love Storge: love for a child Theres nothing wrong with these emotions of love when expressed in their place. Unfortunately, when people aim to fulfill their lives by searching for love in physical relationships, it could suggest that something greater is missing from their spiritual lives. This book will help you understand that passion may fade in time, friendships may fail over a period of time, and children will leave home in due time. Therefore, the eternal love of agape is the only way to truly satisfy an empty soul.

Book excerpt: As I read this book, there was a stirring that began to take place deep within my spirit. The fire within me was being rekindled! A passion and an overwhelming desire to see God awaken not only myself but also my family, my church, my community, and the world filled my heart. I was reminded of what is missing in the Church: the truth of Gods Word coming forth that would bring conviction to the hearts of man. Pastor Billy Keller Senior Pastor, Trinity Church of God Winchester, KY Anderson makes the case that God has set aside some in this generation who will rise up as Samuel did in ancient Israel to replace the current leaders of the Church to help purify the Bride of Christ for His Return. And do we ever need that! Christians need to wake up and begin functioning in the full power of the Holy Spirit. You will know, as you read this book, exactly where you are and find out what you need to do next. Christopher Mantei Managing Director, Wings of the Eagle Resist the Beast

"Thank you, Pastor Garcia, for writing a book that addresses a crisis in progress for both youth and adults. It is saddening to read that, "Thirty-three percent of all married born-again believers experience divorce, nearly the same as the 34 percent of non born-again adults." This book is both thorough and thought-provoking. It offers solutions and guidelines that are very helpful. Your research and insights as to how faulty patterns in courtship and marriage are developed, and how children and parents can pursue a godly strategy together is a must read for all youth, parents, and those in the ministry." ~Bill Bright, Found and Chairman, Campus Crusade for Christ "Thanks to Pastor Garcia for doing a masterful job of addressing this vital subject and for offering step-by-step help for all to follow the teachings of our Lord concerning dating, courtship, and marriage. ~Evan Paul, Editor, Global Pastors Network

Book The Complete Works of C H Spurgeon Volume 7

Download or read book The Complete Works of C H Spurgeon Volume 7 written by Spurgeon, Charles and published by Delmarva Publications, Inc.. This book was released on 2015-02-24 with total page 1234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume 7 Sermons 348-426 Charles Spurgeon (19 June 1834 – 31 January 1892) is one of the church’s most famous preachers and Christianity’s foremost prolific writers. Called the “Prince of Preachers,” he was one of England's most notable ministers for most of the second half of the nineteenth century, and he still remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations today. His sermons have spread all over the world, and his many printed works have been cherished classics for decades. In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to more than 10 million people, often up to ten times each week. He was the pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel (later the Metropolitan Tabernacle) in London for 38 years. He was an inexhaustible author of various kinds of works including sermons, commentaries, an autobiography, as well as books on prayer, devotionals, magazines, poetry, hymns and more. Spurgeon was known to produce powerful sermons of penetrating thought and divine inspiration, and his oratory and writing skills held his audiences spellbound. Many Christians have discovered Spurgeon's messages to be among the best in Christian literature. Edward Walford wrote in Old and New London: Volume 6 (1878) quoting an article from the Times regarding one of Spurgeon’s meetings at Surrey: “Fancy a congregation consisting of 10,000 souls, streaming into the hall, mounting the galleries, humming, buzzing, and swarming—a mighty hive of bees—eager to secure at first the best places, and, at last, any place at all. After waiting more than half an hour—for if you wish to have a seat you must be there at least that space of time in advance—Mr. Spurgeon ascended his tribune. To the hum, and rush, and trampling of men, succeeded a low, concentrated thrill and murmur of devotion, which seemed to run at once, like an electric current, through the breast of every one present, and by this magnetic chain the preacher held us fast bound for about two hours. It is not my purpose to give a summary of his discourse. It is enough to say of his voice, that its power and volume are sufficient to reach every one in that vast assembly; of his language, that it is neither high-flown nor homely; of his style, that it is at times familiar, at times declamatory, but always happy, and often eloquent; of his doctrine, that neither the 'Calvinist' nor the 'Baptist' appears in the forefront of the battle which is waged by Mr. Spurgeon with relentless animosity, and with Gospel weapons, against irreligion, cant, hypocrisy, pride, and those secret bosom-sins which so easily beset a man in daily life; and to sum up all in a word, it is enough to say of the man himself, that he impresses you with a perfect conviction of his sincerity.” More than a hundred years after his death, Charles Spurgeon’s legacy continues to effectively inspire the church around the world. For this reason, Delmarva Publications has chosen to republish the complete works of Charles Spurgeon.

Book Pain Passion and Faith

Download or read book Pain Passion and Faith written by Joanna Cruickshank and published by Scarecrow Press. This book was released on 2009-11-25 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pain, Passion and Faith: Revisiting the Place of Charles Wesley in Early Methodism is a significant study of the 18th-century poet and preacher Charles Wesley. Wesley was an influential figure in 18th-century English culture and society; he was co-founder of the Methodist revival movement and one of the most prolific hymn-writers in the English language. His hymns depict the Christian life as characterized by a range of intense emotions, from ecstatic joy to profound suffering. With this book, author Joanna Cruickshank examines the theme of suffering in Charles WesleyOs hymns, to help us understand how early Methodist men and women made sense of the physical, emotional and spiritual pains they experienced. Cruickshank uncovers an area of significant disagreement within the Methodist leadership and illuminates Methodist culture more broadly, shedding light on early Methodist responses to contemporary social issues like charity, slavery, and capital punishment.
