Book Avoid the Path to Pisgah

Download or read book Avoid the Path to Pisgah written by Abayomi Akinyemi and published by Charisma Media. This book was released on 2008 with total page 127 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When Moses stood on Mount Pisgah, he looked over the Promised Land, a destiny that he would never reach because of his disobedience. Author Abayomi Akinyemi uses Moses’ path to Pisgah as a metaphor to describe the tactics Satan uses to deceive, distract, weaken, and tempt people away from God’s will for their lives. The path to Pisgah represents a place of destroyed destiny, unrealized dreams, passionate pleas, failure at the edge of breakthrough, loss of the fruit of your labor, and substitution or replacement. Author Akinyemi describes how you can avoid these pitfalls to live a fulfilled life, increase your effectiveness in ministry, experience a heightened awareness of Satan’s schemes and knowledge of how to overcome them, and enjoy an unhindered relationship with God. Special prayers at the end of each chapter help guide readers into achieving freedom from past and potential mistakes. This book is an eye-opener that reveals how Satan seeks to cut short and destroy the destiny of every believer. Author Information Abayomi “Yomi” Akinyemi is a willing vessel in God's hands and a testimony to what God can do with an ordinary person. An evangelist by calling and a teacher of the Word, Yomi has served in various church ministries, including that of prayer and deliverance. Yomi is the founder of Kingdom for the Forceful Ministries. He has a bachelor of science degree from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and was pursuing a masters degree in business administration at the university of Nevada, Reno, prior to accepting God’s call to go to Bible college. He is currently pursuing his MBA at Ashland University. He is married to Toyin, and they are blessed with three children. They currently reside in Columbus, Ohio.

Book Called Along the Way

Download or read book Called Along the Way written by Stephen W. Hiemstra and published by T2Pneuma Publishers LLC. This book was released on 2017-12-21 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When did you first hear God’s call? Called Along the Way describes the author’s faith journey from unbeliever to believer, from cultural Christian to active disciple, from disciple to realization of call, and from seminary to early ministry. Unlike Adam and Eve, this story does not begin the Garden of Eden. If you too have struggled with your faith walk, then this story may offer solace. Even in our baby steps of faith, God promises to walk with us. Hear the words; Walk the steps; Experience the joy! The cover image comes from a woodcut called a Nauis Socialis Mechanicorum (Social Ship of Mechanics) attributed to the artist Albrecht Dürer. This woodcut is better known as the Ship of Fools. Author Stephen W. Hiemstra (MDiv, PhD) is a slave of Christ, husband, father, volunteer pastor, writer, and speaker. He lives with Maryam, his wife of 30+ years, in Centreville, VA and they have three grown children. Keywords include: Christian memoir, faith, discipleship, pastoral call, personal memoir, autobiography, memoir, federal service, education.

Download or read book Spiritual Trilogy written by Stephen W. Hiemstra and published by T2Pneuma Publishers LLC. This book was released on 2018-02-16 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This trilogy combines three books published previously: A Christian Guide to Spirituality, Life in Tension, and Called Along the Way. Together they chronicle a spiritual journey during the period from 2013 through 2017. The first two books focus on the question—who is God?—while the third book focuses on the question—who are we? The call to faith and ministry is personal but it is also corporal, being informed by the community of faith at one time and in one place. The original books have been reproduced as published. Offering them together makes them available more economically and draws attention to their common purpose. Because spirituality is lived belief, it is important to reflect on what we say we believe and what we actually practice. This reflective process is inherently stressful but it is a normal part of our Christian journey as we prepare in this life for the next. Hear the words; walk the steps; experience the joy! Author Stephen W. Hiemstra (MDiv, PhD) is a slave of Christ, husband, father, tentmaker, writer, and speaker. He lives with Maryam, his wife of 30+ years, in Centreville, VA and they have three grown children. Key words for this book include: Beatitudes, Christianity, spirituality, memoir, Christian memoir, Jesus, Bible, devotion, spiritual growth, and faith. Other books by T2Pneuma Publishers LLC include: A Christian Guide to Spirituality (2014) Una Guía Cristiana a la Espiritualidad (2015) My Travel Through Life (2016) Oraciones ( 2016) Prayers (2016) Life in Tension (2016) Prayers of a Life in Tension (2016) Called Along the Way (2017) See: T2Pneuma.com for more details. ****************** What people are saying... Book excerpt: The story of an amazing journey to one of the remotest, most mysterious places on earth Until 1934 the Nanda Devi Sanctuary had never been visited by human beings. Surrounded by 20,000 foot peaks which effectively seal off the mountain at their centre it is virtually impenetrable. But in 1934 Eric Shipton and Bill Tilman solved the problem in the first of their great Himalayan expeditions by forcing a way up the river gorge. The onset of war meant that the Sanctuary remained un-visited for many years and it was then closed to travellers for political reasons. After a brief period in the seventies when it was opened for expeditions the Indian Government again closed the Sanctuary. In 2000 the Sanctuary was entered for one single visit. Hugh Thomson was offered a place on this unique expedition led by Eric Shipton's son, John Shipton and the great Indian mountaineer, Colonel Kumar. This journey forms the basis of the book. Woven through it are all the amazing stories that surround the mountain - a powerful blend of myths and politics.
