Book Chasing the Thrill

Download or read book Chasing the Thrill written by Daniel Barbarisi and published by Vintage. This book was released on 2021-05-18 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Daniel Barbarisi plunges into an adventure from another era when he goes in search of buried treasure, guided only by a cryptic poem, a mischievous art collector, and the footsteps another pursuer who died on the quest… Every page draws you deeper into this no-man’s-land where fortune—or tragedy—awaits.” —Christopher McDougall, author of Born to Run When Forrest Fenn was given a fatal cancer diagnosis, he came up with a bold plan: He would hide a chest full of jewels and gold in the wilderness, and publish a poem that would serve as a map leading to the treasure's secret location. But he didn't die, and after hiding the treasure in 2010, Fenn instead presided over a decade-long gold rush that saw many thousands of treasure hunters scrambling across the Rocky Mountains in pursuit of his fortune. Daniel Barbarisi first learned of Fenn's hunt in 2017, when a friend became consumed with decoding the poem and convinced Barbarisi, a reporter, to document his search. What began as an attempt to capture the inner workings of Fenn's hunt quickly turned into a personal quest that led Barbarisi down a reckless and potentially dangerous path, one that found him embroiled in searcher conspiracies and matching wits with Fenn himself. Over the course of four chaotic years, several searchers would die, endless controversies would erupt, and one hunter would ultimately find the chest. But the mystery didn't end there. Full of intrigue, danger, and break-neck action, Chasing the Thrill is a riveting tale of desire, obsession, and unbridled adventure.

Book Free Money Investing Strategies Step by Step Start Up Guide for Beginners Market Crash Survival Guide 101

Download or read book Free Money Investing Strategies Step by Step Start Up Guide for Beginners Market Crash Survival Guide 101 written by Mandi Ward and published by Mandi Ward. This book was released on 2020-04-24 with total page 65 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Morpheus knew before all of us did. He knew the reality we created for ourselves is a lie. We are being used. We are the cogs in someone else's plan. Well, friends, I'm here to tell you that your SALARY or hourly rate is the BRIBE they give you to forget your dreams. Are you going to keep sleeping? Are you going to take a different path that freaks you the fuck out? The time to decide is right now. I don't need to tell you the world is falling apart but, do you see what a virus is doing to us humans? Do you know the way each country responds? Do you have toilet paper? I am in no way making an argument for mutiny. I love my country. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else except on a beach with a fishing rod and a never-ending drink, but that's another story. My goal is to open one of your eyes to investing. Hopefully, you will open the other eye! Then maybe with two eyes open, you can create your path. What does this mean for investing? Simple, what goes up must come down. If you are juggling flaming knives, when one is tossed up, another is aimed at you. Now, picture a trusted friend helping you with these flaming knives. Their job is to catch the knives and toss them in cold water to put out the flame. As it turns out, you can do this same thing with flaming stocks and their icy, bitter twins. These types of stocks are played against each other. When one is up, the other is down. Play the downturn loser, not the winner. Why buy the inverse stock that is running up? You probably think it is a done deal. Buy the winner hitting 15% today! Hold till tomorrow........ BUST. Often new traders have timing issues that cause them to enter into a position that suddenly drops after purchase. Instead, watch the inverse stock fall off the face of a cliff. Wait until the RSI is dirty low before buying in. Wait some more on purchasing the inverse until you see the running up stock flip (aka turn red or decrease in gains). The inverse chart will begin to show green tickers on the one day one minute chart. DO NOT PLAY INVERSE ETF'S ON ANYTHING BUT A DAY TRADE. You will lose everything and be stuck bad holding a L O S E R for a long time. I've done this. Don't do this; it sucks watching a $100 stock go to $30. You can cut your losses and take it in the rear. Or bag hold for who knows how long. When investing, you want to wait for the potential purchase to show you its actual value. A Floridian will buy shrimp off of some dude's pickup truck but, we won't dangle our feet off a dock because we know the hidden dangers under the water. Just as in investing, there are dangers you can only see when you truly take the time to look. Or you learn first hand when you get bit in the ass by a stock you had no business buying without a clear cut plan of entry and exit. You must learn to see the stocks for what they are—a shell game.

Book Oak Island and its Lost Treasure

Download or read book Oak Island and its Lost Treasure written by Graham Harris and published by James Lorimer & Company. This book was released on 2019-05-07 with total page 328 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Oak Island poses two different challenges for these treasure seekers. First, there is a deep mine shaft — the Money Pit — at the bottom of which the treasure lies. This book offers evidence that this treasure came from the wreck of a seventeenth-century Spanish galleon. Then there is the elaborate flood tunnel which links the mine shaft to the ocean. Construction on this tunnel would have been complex and expensive, requiring a labour force of over 100 men, and it would have taken almost two years to complete. Discover the previously untold story of the British military who commanded this labour force in building the underground structure. The island's Money Pit and the tunnel, combined with adverse geological conditions, have ensured that all efforts to uncover the treasure have been unsuccessful to this day. Civil engineers Graham Harris and Les MacPhie spent over a decade investigating the enigma of Nova Scotia's Oak Island. In this book, they draw on the documentary record to present a compelling and historically accurate description of two centuries of treasure hunting on Oak Island.
