Book Automatic Control in Aerospace 2001

Download or read book Automatic Control in Aerospace 2001 written by G. Bertoni and published by Pergamon. This book was released on 2002-05-14 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Proceedings contains the papers presented at the 15th IFAC Symposium on Automatic Control in Aerospace, which was held in Bologna/Forli, Italy, from 2-7 September 2001. Even though space activity is slowing down, there are several reasons to believe that research into automatic control in aerospace will continue to be a field where the most advanced theories of automatic control are applied. One of these reasons is that, as is well known, within the next ten years the traditional navigational aids will be substituted by satellite-based systems such as GPS, GNSS etc. Consequently, there will be an intensification of studies on the control of aircraft both en route and in the terminal areas, and also on the manipulation and integration of data, as safety reasons prohibit reliance on satellite constellations alone. Moreover, satellites will play a major role in developing a global communication system. These changes and new visions require control engineers to solve many challenging and exciting engineering problems, and will encourage new ideas and practices. The Symposium and its Proceedings demonstrate that research into automatic control in aerospace has the potential to address many more problems than are mentioned above. The papers in the Proceedings present solutions to real world problems using high-level theoretical tools such as internal-model-based control of non-linear systems, adaptive control of flexible systems, tracking and surveillance systems, robust avionics dead reckoning filtering, and pursuit-evasion games. Another key aspect of the Symposium was the presentation of important applications already accomplished, or on the way to being implemented. Examples of this are space robotics for interplanetary missions, integration of conventional and satellite-based navigation, advances in missile guidance and control systems and last, but not least, the Galileo Project. The Proceedings contains over 70 papers, including plenary papers by leading world experts. This volume will be essential reading for anyone with an interest in the present state and the future development of aerospace control systems.

Book Automatic Control of Atmospheric and Space Flight Vehicles

Download or read book Automatic Control of Atmospheric and Space Flight Vehicles written by Ashish Tewari and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-08-04 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Automatic Control of Atmospheric and Space Flight Vehicles is perhaps the first book on the market to present a unified and straightforward study of the design and analysis of automatic control systems for both atmospheric and space flight vehicles. Covering basic control theory and design concepts, it is meant as a textbook for senior undergraduate and graduate students in modern courses on flight control systems. In addition to the basics of flight control, this book covers a number of upper-level topics and will therefore be of interest not only to advanced students, but also to researchers and practitioners in aeronautical engineering, applied mathematics, and systems/control theory.

Book Automatic Control in Aerospace 1992

Download or read book Automatic Control in Aerospace 1992 written by D.B. DeBra and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2017-01-11 with total page 573 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Space vehicles have become increasingly complex in recent years, and the number of missions has multiplied as a result of extending frontiers in the exploration of our planetary system and the universe beyond. The advancement of automatic control in aerospace reflects these developments. Key areas covered in these proceedings include: the size and complexity of spacecrafts and the increasingly stringent performance requirements to be fulfilled in a harsh and unpredictable environment; the merger of space vehicles and airplanes into space planes to launch and retrieve payloads by reusable winged vehicles; and the demand to increase space automation and autonomy to reduce human involvement as much as possible in manned, man-tended and unmanned missions. This volume covers not only the newly evolving key technologies but also the classical issues of guidance, navigation and control.

Book Automatic Control in Aerospace 1998

Download or read book Automatic Control in Aerospace 1998 written by Jang Gyu Lee and published by . This book was released on 1999 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the post cold war era, the role of aerospace technology has swiftly changed from military use to civilian use. The change resulted in a closer international cooperation in developing new aerospace systems, such as the Iridium project to launch a fleet of communication satellites and the European Aero International Regional (AIR) project to build a new generation of 100-seat passenger jets. Furthermore, it is envisioned in the coming century that passengers may be able to travel between Seoul and Los Angeles in two hours with the help of the emerging technologies of aeronautical and astronautical engineering. The Global Positioning System (GPS) will bring a personal navigation system that can provide navigation information with an accuracy of less than 10 metres. Satellites will take a major role in developing a global communication system. These changes and visions wait for control engineers to solve many challenging and exciting engineering problems, and invite new ideas and practices. The goal for the symposium was to bring together from different fields and applications, with the common interest of automatic control in aerospace systems. The program consisted of state-of-the-art reviews, presentations of new results, tutorials, discussions and applications in all aspects of the dynamics and control of aeronautical and space-related systems. This covered conceptual definition, design, test, verification, operations, and post-operation analysis of spacecraft, launch vehicles, aircraft, and missiles.

Book Automated Systems in the Aviation and Aerospace Industries

Download or read book Automated Systems in the Aviation and Aerospace Industries written by Shmelova, Tetiana and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2019-03-22 with total page 486 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Air traffic controllers need advanced information and automated systems to provide a safe environment for everyone traveling by plane. One of the primary challenges in developing training for automated systems is to determine how much a trainee will need to know about the underlying technologies to use automation safely and efficiently. To ensure safety and success, task analysis techniques should be used as the basis of the design for training in automated systems in the aviation and aerospace industries. Automated Systems in the Aviation and Aerospace Industries is a pivotal reference source that provides vital research on the application of underlying technologies used to enforce automation safety and efficiency. While highlighting topics such as expert systems, text mining, and human-machine interface, this publication explores the concept of constructing navigation algorithms, based on the use of video information and the methods of the estimation of the availability and accuracy parameters of satellite navigation. This book is ideal for aviation professionals, researchers, and managers seeking current research on information technology used to reduce the risk involved in aviation.

Book Active System Control

Download or read book Active System Control written by Igor Schagaev and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-09-09 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book introduces an approach to active system control design and development to improve the properties of our technological systems. It extends concepts of control and data accumulation by explaining how the system model should be organized to improve the properties of the system under consideration. The authors define these properties as reliability, performance and energy-efficiency, and self-adaption. They describe how they bridge the gap between data accumulation and analysis in terms of interpolation with the real physical models when data used for interpretation of the system conditions. The authors introduce a principle of active system control and safety - an approach that explains what a model of a system should have, making computer systems more efficient, a crucial new concern in application domains such as safety critical, embedded and low-power autonomous systems like transport, healthcare, and other dynamic systems with moving substances and elements. On a theoretical level, this book further extends the concept of fault tolerance, introducing a system level of design for improving overall efficiency. On a practical level it illustrates how active system approach might help our systems be self-evolving.
