But instead of updating the whole book to the new source code editor proposed by Autodesk, I have decided to publish this new one, the "AutoCAD 2021 VS Code Update" so the readers of "AutoCAD Expert's Visual LISP" can begin to get used to this new environment with all its new features. The Visual LISP books will eventually be updated, but I believe we should wait to see if this is the definitive solution.

Autodesk propone sustituir el antiguo VLIDE con un editor de código fuente desarrollado por Microsoft bajo el nombre de VS Code. Este es un programa open-source que se puede utilizar para el desarrollo de programas en casi todos los lenguajes conocidos. El soporte para los diferentes lenguajes se proporciona mediante la instalación de extensiones disponibles en el Marketplace de VS Code. Este editor ofrece la función de autocompletado IntelliSense, resaltado de sintaxis, correspondencia de paréntesis, sangría automática, selección en bloque, inserción fragmentos de código (snippets) y más. También incluye un depurador de código interactivo, que permite recorrer el código fuente, inspeccionar variables, ver pilas de llamadas y ejecutar comandos en la consola.
