Book Authenticity How My Why Me Moment Shaped My Life

Download or read book Authenticity How My Why Me Moment Shaped My Life written by Adejisola Atiba and published by Adejisola Atiba. This book was released on 2022-03-22 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book was started out of a desire to help someone else know that they are not alone in their life struggles. Having experienced multiple setbacks in all areas of my life, I know that sharing some parts of these situations would encourage someone else. The bonus about Authenticity: How My “Why Me” Moments Shaped My Life is that you get to read about other people’s experiences too. I was asking some people what Change Management means to them, and after hearing their explanations, I told them about my thoughts about it. Change management to me, is Life. We all want our life to go a certain way, but life happens how its destined nonetheless. We cannot throw in the towel because we do not like what is happening to us, so we do whatever it takes to go on. This book will motivate anyone who reads it. If we persevere, if we are consistent, focused, and intentional, we can make it through anytime and every time. All the contributors were authentic; they shared a vulnerable part of their life’s journey and how they persevered through it all, to inspire others. I was inspired, and I learnt a whole lot from this process. I hope you do too.

Book The Intentional Leader

Download or read book The Intentional Leader written by Tim Hebert and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2021-11-11 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An essential guide to the elements that create strong leadership. From those decisive moments in which a difficult decision must be made, to the unguarded moments when our emotional, authentic selves manifest themselves for better or worse – this book explores the actions and outlooks that define leadership. The Intentional Leader clarifies that openness is key to genuinely effective leadership – as Emerson wrote, “The reason why the world lacks unity, and lies broken and in heaps, is because man is disunited with himself.” We have an overabundance of 'leaders' in our world today. But those who truly stand out are the ones who lead in a way that inspires employees to rally behind the organizational cause – whether that be developing cutting-edge technologies or selling fast food. This is Intentional Leadership, which Tim Hebert defines as clear, aligned, compassionate guidance delivered with a strong core ideology. It's responsive, not reactionary. It's inclusive, not prejudiced. It's transformational, not transactional. It's innovative, daring and inspirational leadership. Drawing upon his extensive experience as a business leader and consultant, Tim Hebert provides practical advice and broadly applicable guidance that will bolster business leaders across all industries. With an engaging combination of high-profile case studies, first-hand experiences and enlightening research, The Intentional Leader is the essential guide to cultivating an authentic, effective and sustainable approach to leadership.

Book Unseen

  • Author : Sara Hagerty
  • Publisher : Zondervan
  • Release : 2017-08-29
  • ISBN : 0310339987
  • Pages : 240 pages

Download or read book Unseen written by Sara Hagerty and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2017-08-29 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How do we find contentment in God when we feel so hidden? Sara Hagerty unfolds the truths found in the biblical story of Mary of Bethany to discover the scandalous love of God and explore the spiritual richness of being hidden in him. Every heart longs to be seen and understood. Yet most of our lives is unwitnessed. We spend our days working, driving, parenting. We sometimes spend whole seasons feeling unnoticed and unappreciated. In Unseen, Sara Hagerty suggests that this is exactly what God intended. He is the only One who truly knows us. He is the only One who understands the value of the unseen in our lives. When this truth seeps into our souls, we realize that only when we hide ourselves in God can we give ourselves to others in true freedom--and know the joy of a deeper relationship with the God who sees us. Our culture applauds what we can produce, what we can show, what we can upload to social media. Only when we give all of ourselves to God--unedited, abandoned, apparently wasteful in its lack of productivity--can we live out who God created us to be. As Hagerty writes, "Maybe my seemingly unproductive, looking-up-at-Him life produces awe among the angels." Through an eloquent exploration of both personal and biblical story, Hagerty calls us to offer every unseen minute of our lives to God. God is in the secret places of our lives that no one else witnesses. But we've not been relegated to these places. We've been invited. We may be "wasting" ourselves in a hidden corner today: The cubicle on the fourth floor. The hospital bedside of an elderly parent. The laundry room. But these are the places God uses to meet us with a radical love. These are the places that produce the kind of unhinged love in us that gives everything at His feet, whether or not anyone else ever proclaims our name, whether or not anyone else ever sees. God's invitation is not just for a season or a day. It is the question of our lives: "When no one else applauds you, when it makes no sense, when you see no results--will you waste your love on Me?"

Book excerpt: With exercises, practical tools, and inspiring stories, Deeper Dating will guide you on a journey to find the love—and personal fulfillment—you long for Lose weight. Be confident. Keep your partner guessing. At the end of the day, this soulless approach to dating doesn't lead to love but to insecurity and desperation. In Deeper Dating, Ken Page presents a new path to love. Out of his decades of work as a psychotherapist and his own personal struggle to find love, Page teaches that the greatest magnet for real love lies in our "Core Gifts"—the places of our deepest sensitivity, longing, and passion. Deeper Dating guides us to discover our own Core Gifts and empowers us to express them with courage, generosity, and discrimination in our dating life. Book The Possibility Principle

Download or read book The Possibility Principle written by Mel Schwartz and published by Sounds True. This book was released on 2017-08-31 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How would you like to experience your life? It’s an intriguing question, and yet we’ve been conditioned to believe our life visions and goals are often unattainable—until now. With The Possibility Principle, psychotherapist Mel Schwartz offers a revolutionary approach to living the life we choose. Though science has vastly expanded our knowledge, it has also led us to adopt a worldview where we see ourselves as insignificant specks living in a mechanical universe. Now, insights from quantum physics reveal that our universe is, in fact, a vibrantly intelligent reality and that each of us plays a vital role in shaping it. In this groundbreaking book, Schwartz shows us how to integrate this new quantum worldview into our everyday lives, allowing us to transcend our limitations and open to infinite possibilities. The Possibility Principle reveals how we can apply the three core tenets of quantum physics—inseparability, uncertainty, and potentiality—to live the life we choose, free from the wounds of our past and the constraints of our old beliefs. You can learn to: Develop a mastery of your thinking as you free yourself from the replication of old thought patterns • Utilize the concept of wave collapse to realize that you are not imprisoned by your genes, brain chemistry, or past traumas • Overcome anxiety and depression through a shift of mind • Thrive in resilient relationships and develop powerful communication skills that foster empowerment and intimate connection • Embrace uncertainty to ride the waves of personal change

Book A Day in the Life of a Minimalist

Download or read book A Day in the Life of a Minimalist written by Joshua Fields Millburn and published by Asymmetrical Press. This book was released on 2012-11-07 with total page 165 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At age 30, Joshua Fields Millburn left his six-figure career, ditched most of his material possessions, and started focusing on life's most important aspects. Once he embraced his newfound minimalist lifestyle, he never looked back. Suffice it to say, everything has changed in Millburn's life in the last three years. After his mother died in October 2009 and his marriage ended a month later, he began questioning everything in his life: his material possessions, his career, his goals, his health, his relationships, his path in life. Soon he discovered minimalism. In the three years since the author adopted a minimalist lifestyle, he has written more than 300 essays about minimalism and intentional living. He has written about his journey, his failures, his lessons, and everything he has learned during his transformation. A Day in the Life of a Minimalist is a collection of his best, most important individual writings--rethought and edited specifically for this collection. This 208-page book contains 50 essays about living a meaningful life with less stuff, including "The Short Guide to Getting Rid of Your Crap," "The Commodification of Love," "Letting Go of Shitty Relationships," and the title essay. Collectively, these essays are purposefully organized into nine sections--lifestyle, goals, experiments, clutter, relationships, changes, philosophy, consumer culture, and work--covering a variety of topics, viewpoints, and arguments within those themes. Also included are a special forward written by Colin Wright (the man who introduced Millburn to minimalism) and an introduction by Joshua Fields Millburn, as well as two unpublished essays that can't be found anywhere else: "What If Everyone Was a Minimalist?" and "Work-Life Balance." These essays were written to encourage readers to think critically about the excess in their lives and, ultimately, to take action towards living more intentionally. This collection is short enough to be read in a few sittings, or it can be digested slowly, reading one essay a day for nearly two months, applying its principals each day to your own life.

Book Letters to My Father

Download or read book Letters to My Father written by Jean-Claude Blaise and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2023-10-27 with total page 538 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book tells the autobiography of my father, his years in Haiti, and his transition as an immigrant in foreign lands. His personal account mirrors the daily struggles one may face under the Duvaliers' regimes in the sixties through the mid of eighties to cultural shock and identity in other countries. Growing up, he experiences a lot of different emotions regarding his father's absence from the home along with dealing with his sudden death that had such an impact on his life. He tells this story in a narrative to inform his deceased father about his life. In his prime years, his dad caresses the hem of his mother's skirt, expressing how close the pair were. Hence, his mother taught him domestic chores, which is culturally catered to women. Throughout his secondary years, he expresses the demise of his teacher purposely failing him to hinder him from moving forward in the next class as well as the financial difficulties he faced during his time at Diquini, a congressional school, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Luckily, his eldest brother, whom he mentions throughout his book, was a pivotal stepping stone in his success there, along with his transition in America. In hopes of creating a family with his first love from Haiti, Dadoutte, she swindles him in hopes that they'll be reunited one day. She's destined to marry another suitor. After denying himself from women for a long time, he decided to open his heart to a girl, Samartha Mentor, who's visiting his home church, Horeb, now his wife of thirty years. His goal in Canada was to achieve a scholarship to further his studies and dreams of becoming a physician. Being isolated from his family back in Haiti, his stay there with his cousin, Gabriel, was extremely short-lived. Throughout his demise, he sought aid again from his brother Maurice in bringing himself to the United States. There, he began doing many odd jobs working in factories creating furniture pieces and being a taxi driver before being driven into the education field by a friend, Dr. Emmanuel Celestin, who saw Jean-Claude wasting his life away as a taxi driver. Taking this new job, teaching Haitians and Hispanic immigrants English at Wingate High School, has allowed him to further his career as an educator, where he retired as a school counselor, twenty-eight years and an half later at the age of sixty-two. Enjoy your reading! Nhaomie-Claudia Blaise, Daughter
