Recent DOD measurement programs have produced inconsistent data sets. Doubt has been cast upon the accuracies and sensitiviites of current meteorological instruments which provide transmission and particle size data. The purpose of the Atmospheric Transmission and Particle Size Measurements workshop was to provide a forum for information exchange between people who have been involved in the measurements. A definition of the state of the art of present equipment and technique was obtained. An overall summary, workshop session summaries, and abstracts of presentations are included. (Author).
