This book was released on 2019-12-16 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Diagn stico pedag gico written by Pascual Gómez, Isabel and published by Editorial UOC. This book was released on 2016-08-16 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book Qualitative and Quantitative Models in Socio Economic Systems and Social Work written by José Luis Sarasola Sánchez-Serrano and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-06-21 with total page 521 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The main purpose of this book is not only to present recent studies and advances in the field of social science research, but also to stimulate discussion on related practical issues concerning statistics, mathematics, and economics. Accordingly, a broad range of tools and techniques that can be used to solve problems on these topics are presented in detail in this book, which offers an ideal reference work for all researchers interested in effective quantitative and qualitative tools. The content is divided into three major sections. The first, which is titled “Social work”, collects papers on problems related to the social sciences, e.g. social cohesion, health, and digital technologies. Papers in the second part, “Education and teaching issues,” address qualitative aspects, education, learning, violence, diversity, disability, and ageing, while the book’s final part, “Recent trends in qualitative and quantitative models for socio-economic systems and social work”, features contributions on both qualitative and quantitative issues. The book is based on a scientific collaboration, in the social sciences, mathematics, statistics, and economics, among experts from the “Pablo de Olavide” University of Seville (Spain), the “University of Defence” of Brno (Czech Republic), the “G. D’Annunzio” University of Chieti-Pescara (Italy) and “Alexandru Ioan Cuza University” of Iaşi (Romania). The contributions, which have been selected using a peer-review process, examine a wide variety of topics related to the social sciences in general, while also highlighting new and intriguing empirical research conducted in various countries. Given its scope, the book will appeal, in equal measure, to sociologists, mathematicians, statisticians and philosophers, and more generally to scholars and specialists in related fields.

Download or read book Gender Equality written by Henri Morel (Editor) and published by Nova Science Publishers. This book was released on 2021 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "While much work has been done over the past few decades to ensure that men and women receive equal treatment in societies around the world, much more work must be done before the ideal of egalitarianism can be fully realized. This book examines the history and current status of gender equality in a variety of social contexts and proposes visions of potential future outcomes that address the systemic problems related to gender. Chapter One addresses work-care conflicts in post-industrialized societies and their effects on men, women, and children. Chapter Two includes an in-depth examination of various studies revealing biases, prejudiced thinking, cultural barriers, and the challenges that lie ahead as the global workplace evolves. Chapter Three discusses the difference between gender equality and gender equity, the policies that aim at gender equity and equality in Latin America, and the importance of policies that consider gender, race, and social class from the perspective of decolonial feminism. Chapter Four describes progressive Islamic thought related to gender justice, specifically in connection with the work done by Sa'diyya Shaikh, a professor of religious studies. Chapter Five applies the sociology of social problems to elucidate the seemingly intractable character of men's sexual harassment of women. Chapter Six explores the status of gender mainstreaming implementation in university teaching in Greek physical education and sport science faculties. Chapter Seven emphasizes the need for integrating sustainability competencies for gender equality into teacher education programs. Finally, Chapter Eight highlights the difficulties faced by adolescents who in some countries are expected to make career decisions at as young as 14 years old, and how insecurities and gender stereotypes factor into these children's decisions"--
Download or read book THEORY IN SELF DETERMINATION written by Michael L. Wehmeyer and published by Charles C Thomas Publisher. This book was released on 2003-01-01 with total page 340 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This text provides a comprehensive overview of three theoretical perspectives proposed during the past decade addressing the self-determination construct as it applies to the field of special education. The three models were selected primarily because they have focused on defining and categorizing self-determination for all students with disabilities, including students with mental retardation and other cognitive disabilities. These models are intended to provide students and practitioners a solid grounding in self-determination theory. All models have been evaluated among students with cognitive disabilities but are applicable to all students with or without disabilities. The authors research each model and have applied their own theoretical framework to special education, ensuring that interventions to promote skills like problem solving, goal setting, decision making, and self-advocacy are in place for all students. By reading this text, the reader will gain a solid, theoretically based foundation in understanding the self-determination construct which ultimately supports the development of instructional interventions that enable students with disabilities to become self-determined. It will be useful as a text in upper undergraduate and graduate courses in special education, psychology, social work/welfare, general education, vocational rehabilitation and disability studies.
