Its language and terminology have been self-referential, enabling disciplinary closure but generating widening gaps with reality and lived experience. Their contributions highlight the peculiarities of the professionalization processes in variant social, economic and political environments linked together by the relays of empire, prompting reflection on both the common and disparate dynamics involved. The author studied from a postgraduate research course, MBA (Distinction, Strategic Marketing, Hull) in 1994 and Doctor of Business Administration (Strategic Management, Finance and Accounting under research and course) from 2013 to 2017. The research title of the author was on the model of “the Chartered Accountants’ propensity to stay in Singaporean Accounting Firms” (Tan, 2019)
