Erick is good with a sword, but he does not have the temperament to lead, and he refuses to follow. His military instructor counsels Erick that his best career choice is studying to become a wizard. All he needs is an agreeable mentor who can stay focused. A Terrible Myth Take. Kurt follows his younger brother through a rabbit hole that transports them into a primitive, alternate reality. Unable to return home, Kurt takes up the sword and tries to sort out whether he is the Chosen One. If he is, perhaps he can defeat the evil wizard and save eight interlinked worlds from disaster. Unfortunately, his quest bears little resemblance to any of the myths he knows or the epic movies he has seen. The Unicorn Dilemma. The forest dragon likes the crunchy flavor of knights after they have been flame roasted inside their armor. Perhaps a unicorn can sway the dragon's tastes to something more eclectic.

Book Constructs of Meaning and Religious Transformation

Download or read book Constructs of Meaning and Religious Transformation written by Herman Westerink and published by V&R unipress GmbH. This book was released on 2013 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the major trends in the psychology of religion is the growing interest in religious and spiritual meaning making in relation to religious and spiritual transformation processes, notably as the aftermath of traumatic experiences and in situations of crisis, stress or disease when personal well-being is at stake and coping activities and skills are enhanced. This volume covers this broad and complex area of interrelated issues. The contributions focus on religious and spiritual meaning making and transformation. They do not compose an integrated perspective on religious meaning making and transformation processes. Rather, this volume assembles and presents the current state of research on this complex of issues. Thus it not only provides an excellent overview of the psychological study of constructs of meaning and religious transformation, but also contributes to our knowledge of contemporary religious life in the context of socio-cultural transformation processes (pluralisation, globalization).

No, Brad's big issue is that he sees dead people. And those dead people are starting to fight back. Brad is a paranormal investigator who uses his powers to shepherd the lost souls of the newly-departed to the light on the other side. In return for a fee. Naturally. But when a case goes badly wrong, Brad finds himself the prisoner of those he'd usually be hunting. Can he use his unique talents to save not only his own skin, but all of humanity? Because Brad Burns is the Paranormal Desperado. And he'll be damned if he'll let a bunch of pesky ghosts get in between him and those he loves. Although maybe "damned" is tempting fate a bit too much... Love Is Dead(ly) is the brand new paranormal thriller from Gene Kendall. If you like snarky characters, ghosts who do more than go "bump" in the night, and terrifying apocalypses, then you'll love Love Is Dead(ly)!

Book Verb Clusters

Download or read book Verb Clusters written by Katalin É. Kiss and published by John Benjamins Publishing. This book was released on 2004-05-28 with total page 520 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many languages have constructions in which verbs cluster. But few languages have verb clusters as rich and complex as Continental West Germanic and Hungarian. Furthermore the precise ordering properties and the variation in the cluster patterns are remarkably similar in Hungarian and Germanic. This similarity is, of course, unexpected since Hungarian is not an Indo-European language like the Germanic language group. Instead it appears that the clustering, inversion and roll-up patterns found may constitute an areal feature. This book presents the relevant language data in considerable detail, taking into account also the variation observed, for example, among dialects. But it also discusses the various analytical approaches that can be brought to bear on this set of phenomena. In particular, there are various hypotheses as to what is the underlying driving force behind cluster formation: stress patterns, aspectual features, morpho- syntactic constraints? And the analytical approaches are closely linked to a number of questions that are at the core of current syntactic theorizing: does head movement exist or should all apparent verb displacement be reduced to remnant movement, are morphology and syntax really just different sides of the same coin?
