This book was released on 1985 with total page 65 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In October 1984, Harding Lawson Associates (HLA) was contracted by the City of Desert Hot Springs (City) to assess and explore the geothermal resources of Desert Hot Springs under a grant from the California Energy Commission (CEC). The purpose of the project was to define the areal extent and potential of the geothermal system, including the possible existence of a reservoir hotter and deeper than that which is presently being used. The study consisted of a literature/data search and evaluation, geologic mapping, geochemical and soil mercury sampling and analysis, geophysical surveying, and temperature gradient well drilling and logging. The field work was performed between November 1984 and July 1985. The results of these investigations were evaluated by our technical staff to arrive at a conceptual model of the geothermal system.
