Ivanova is a professional illustrator, visual artist, fashion designer, and the author of fashion drawing books (Fashion Croquis Sketchbooks and Fashion Croquis book series). To relax and have a break from the Fashion drawing routine, Irina creates illustrations and books for her grandkids. Professional illustrator and fashion designer Irina loves cats. The "Little Fashion Cats" are a mixture of mastery of a professional fashion illustration and the passion of a cat lover. When Irina is not creating fashion design and fashion drawing books, she designs journals and coloring books. From the author: "The story of this book is pretty straightforward; as a professional clothing designer and fashion illustrator who loves cats. Imagining cute cats and kittens as "fashion models" wearing stylish outfits came naturally to me. This book was a great relaxation for me, and I hope it will make you as relaxed and happy when you will color it as I was creating these illustrations. I had fun creating this book; now it is your turn to have fun coloring it."

Book excerpt: You may not like it that students forgot your talk on temptation, but remembered your mouse-trap object lesson . . . . . . but the fact remains that nothing brings a lesson to life more vividly and concretely--or wakes up a drowsy Sunday school class faster--than a good object lesson. In Everyday Object Lessons for Youth Groups the authors (who are youth workers and teachers of youth workers) pool their most effective 45 object lessons into a collection that’s perfect for both junior and senior high youth groups. Here are no-prep and low-prep object lessons for devotionals, Sunday school lessons, talks at camps and retreats--even for sermons. However you use them, you have Bible references and provocative discussion-starting questions with each object lesson to help you take it in any direction you want. Download or read book Reading Programs for Young Adults written by Martha Seif Simpson and published by McFarland. This book was released on 1997-07-15 with total page 359 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: School and public libraries often provide programs and activities for children in preschool through the sixth grade, but there is little available to young adults. For them, libraries become a place for work--the place to research an assignment or find a book for a report--but the thought of the library as a place for enjoyment is lost. So how do librarians recapture the interest of teenagers? This just might be the answer. Here you will find theme-based units (such as Cartoon Cavalcade, Log On at the Library, Go in Style, Cruising the Mall, Space Shots, Teens on TV, and 44 others) that are designed for young adults. Each includes a display idea, suggestions for local sponsorship of prizes, a program game to encourage participation, 10 theme-related activities, curriculum tie-in activities, sample questions for use in trivia games or scavenger hunts, ideas for activity sheets, a bibliography of related works, and a list of theme-related films. The units are highly flexible, allowing any public or school library to adapt them to their particular needs.

Download or read book Color Theory and Its Application in Art and Design written by George A. Agoston and published by Springer. This book was released on 2013-11-11 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My aim in this introductory text is to present a comprehensible discussion of certain technical topics and recent developments in color science that I believe are of real interest to artists and designers. I treat a number of applications of this knowledge, for example in selection and use of colorants (pigments and dyes) and light. Early in the book I discuss what color is and what its characteristics are. This is followed by a chapter on pertinent aspects of light, light as the stimulus that causes the perception of color. Then the subject of the colors of opaque and transparent, nonfluorescent and fluorescent materials is taken up. There are sections on color matching, color mixture, and color primaries. Chapter 6 introduces the basic ideas that underlie the universal method (CIE) of color specification. Later chapters show how these ideas have been extended to serve other purposes such as systematic color naming, de termining complementary colors, mixing colored lights, and demonstrating the limitations of color gamuts of colorants. The Munsell and the Ostwald color systems and the Natural Colour System (Sweden) are explained, and the new Uniform Color Scales (Optical Society of America) are described. Color specification itself is a broad topic. The information presented here is relevant in art and design, for those who work with pigments and dyes or with products that contain them, such as paints, printing inks, plastics, glasses, mosaic tesserae, etc.
