Doc built a starship on our farm that was fifteen storys and tall and with an advanced computer system could create whatever the Doc wanted. The starship and the six children took off in 2012 as the world ends by being sucked into the sun with all the other planet, we heard all the screams of all the people of the world as it died from all the people that didn't believe the Earth wouldn't be destroyed the way Doc told them; The Doc tried to save as many as he could, but no one would believe him. Later after we watched The world being destroyed the children were put to sleep for the long journey until the starships computer could find a world that we could survive on, the children were awakened 250 billion years A.D. And landed on a planet with portals that led to twenty one different worlds with different star systems and lots of wars going on that the children get involved in to help out the friendly aliens. Download or read book More Posthuman Glossary written by Rosi Braidotti and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2022-11-03 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The notion of the posthuman continues to both intrigue and confuse, not least because of the huge number of ideas, theories and figures associated with this term. More Posthuman Glossary provides a way in to the dizzying array of posthuman concepts, providing vivid accounts of emerging terms. It is much more than a series of definitions, however, in that it seeks to imagine and predict what new terms might come into being as this exciting field continues to expand. A follow-up volume to the brilliant interventions of Posthuman Glossary (2018), this book extends and elaborates on that work, particularly focusing on concepts of race, indigeneity and new ideas in radical ecology. It also includes new and emerging voices within the new humanities and multiple modes of communicating ideas. This is an indispensible glossary for those who are exploring what the non-human, inhuman and posthuman might mean in the 21st century.

Book Art Artists and Pedagogy

Download or read book Art Artists and Pedagogy written by Christopher Naughton and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-10-16 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume has been brought together to generate new ideas and provoke discussion about what constitutes arts education in the twenty-first century, both within the institution and beyond. Art, Artists and Pedagogy is intended for educators who teach the arts from early childhood to tertiary level, artists working in the community, or those studying arts in education from undergraduate to Masters or PhD level. From the outset, this book is not only about arts in practice but also about what distinguishes the ‘arts’ in education. Exploring two different philosophies of education, the book asks what the purpose of the arts is in education in the twenty-first century. With specific reference to the work of Gert Biesta, questions are asked as to the relation of the arts to the world and what kind of society we may wish to envisage. The second philosophical set of ideas comes from Deleuze and Guattari, looking in more depth at how we configure art, the artist and the role played by the state and global capital in deciding on what art education has become. This book provides educators with new ways to engage with arts, focusing specifically on art, music, dance, drama and film studies. At a time when many teachers are looking for a means to re-assert the role of the arts in education this text provides many answers with reference to case studies and in-depth arguments from some of the world’s leading academics in the arts, philosophy and education.

Book New Earth Histories

    Book Details:
  • Author : Alison Bashford
  • Publisher : University of Chicago Press
  • Release : 2023-11-06
  • ISBN : 022682859X
  • Pages : 392 pages

Download or read book New Earth Histories written by Alison Bashford and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2023-11-06 with total page 392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A kaleidoscopic rethinking of how we come to know the earth. This book brings the history of the geosciences and world cosmologies together, exploring many traditions, including Chinese, Pacific, Islamic, South and Southeast Asian conceptions of the earth’s origin and makeup. Together the chapters ask: How have different ideas about the sacred, animate, and earthly changed modern environmental sciences? How have different world traditions understood human and geological origins? How does the inclusion of multiple cosmologies change the meaning of the Anthropocene and the global climate crisis? By carefully examining these questions, New Earth Histories sets an ambitious agenda for how we think about the earth. The chapters consider debates about the age and structure of the earth, how humans and earth systems interact, and how empire has been conceived in multiple traditions. The methods the authors deploy are diverse—from cultural history and visual and material studies to ethnography, geography, and Indigenous studies—and the effect is to highlight how earth knowledge emerged from historically specific situations. New Earth Histories provides both a framework for studying science at a global scale and fascinating examples to educate as well as inspire future work. Essential reading for students and scholars of earth science history, environmental humanities, history of science and religion, and science and empire.

Book What Is Art Education

Download or read book What Is Art Education written by jan jagodzinski and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-12-27 with total page 327 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This edited book gathers seven established art educators-educator artists who address art education from the philosophical position of Deleuze and Guattari. This book raises questions as to where the future of art and its education might be heading if the focus on art was to be repositioned along Deleuze and Guattari’s philosophy of immanence. The chapters are speculative as they query what is ‘thinking’ in the art process. There is an attempt to project other forms of what art can ‘do,’ and the curriculum that can emerge when a student-centered problematic is explored along such lines.

Book Artists in Offices

  • Author : Judith E. Adler
  • Publisher : Routledge
  • Release : 2017-09-08
  • ISBN : 1351318942
  • Pages : 165 pages

Download or read book Artists in Offices written by Judith E. Adler and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-09-08 with total page 165 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Universities have become important sources of patronage and professional artistic preparation. With the growing academization of art instruction, young artists are increasingly socialized in bureaucratic settings, and mature artists find themselves working as organizational employees in an academic setting. As these artists lose the social marginality and independence associated with an earlier, more individual aesthetic production, much cultural mythology about work in the arts becomes obsolete. This classic ethnography, based on fieldwork and interviews carried out at the California Institute of the Arts in the 1980s, analyzes the day-to-day life of an organization devoted to work in the arts. It charts the rise and demise of a particular academic art "scene," an occupational utopian community that recruited its members by promising them an ideal work setting. Now available in paperback, it offers insight into the worlds of art and education, and how they interact in particular settings. The nature of career experience in the arts, in particular its temporal structure, makes these occupations particularly receptive to utopian thought. The occupational utopia that served as a recruitment myth for the particular organization under scrutiny is examined for what it reveals about the otherwise unexpressed impulses of the work world.

Book Artists and the Practice of Agriculture

Download or read book Artists and the Practice of Agriculture written by Silvia Bottinelli and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2023-07-31 with total page 285 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Artists and the Practice of Agriculture maps out examples of artistic practices that engage with the aesthetics and politics of gathering food, growing edible and medicinal plants, and interacting with non-human collaborators. In the hands of contemporary artists, farming and foraging become forms of visual and material language that convey personal and political meanings. This book provides a critical analysis of artistic practices that model alternative food systems. It presents rich academic insights as well as 16 conversations with practicing artists. The volume addresses pressing issues, such as the interconnectedness of human and other-than-human beings, the weight of industrial agriculture, the legacy of colonialism, and the promise of place-based and embodied pedagogies. Through participatory projects, the artists discussed here reflect on the links between past histories, present challenges, and future solutions for the food sovereignty of local and networked communities. The book is an easy-to-navigate resource for readers interested in food studies, visual and material cultures, contemporary art, ecocriticism, and the environmental humanities.
