Like most goats, Jayna, Bumsie, and Pep’s greatest fear is being eaten for dinner by the legendary chupacabra—it’s common knowledge that goats are a chupacabra’s favorite food! One night, tired of living in fear, the impetuous goats whip out their trusty candelabra and head off to find the beast and scare it away before it can find them. Little do they know that candelabras are the chupacabra’s third-favorite food . . . and he isn’t about to stop there. This chupacabra has quite the appetite, and the goats are in for a big surprise!

Book Moth Butterfly Ta Da

Download or read book Moth Butterfly Ta Da written by Dev Petty and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2021-06-08 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Metamorphosis brings astonishing and exciting changes to a pair of caterpillar friends, who take pride in being the same--and different. Two caterpillar friends love what they have in common--lots of legs and a talent for chewing leaves into funny shapes. And when it's time to build cocoons, they hang theirs side by side. "Happy metamorphosis," says an older, more knowledgeable butterfly. And it is a happy metamorphosis indeed--for when the two emerge from their cocoons, they can fly! But so much else has changed--as one is now a moth, who flies by night, and the other is a butterfly, who flies by day. How will things work now? Fortunately some things never change--like true friends figuring out a way to be together, and happily flying into the sunset and sunrise.

Book Are You Working Too Much

Download or read book Are You Working Too Much written by Julieta Aranda and published by . This book was released on 2011 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Let's be clear about something: it is infuriating that most interesting artists are perfectly capable of functioning in at least two or three professions that are, unlike art, respected by society in terms of compensation and general usefulness. Furthermore, when the flexibility, certainty, and freedom promised by being part of a critical outside are considered as extensions of recent advances in economic exploitation, does the field of art then become the uncritical, complicit inside of something far more compelling? e-flux journal Series edited by Julieta Aranda, Brian Kuan Wood, Anton Vidokle Contributors Franco "Bifo" Berardi, Keti Chukhrov, Diedrich Diederichsen, Antke Engel, Liam Gillick, Tom Holert, Lars Bang Larsen, Marion von Osten, Precarious Workers Brigade, Irit Rogoff, and Hito Steyerl

Book Supercommunity

    Book Details:
  • Author : E-Flux
  • Publisher : Verso Books
  • Release : 2017-12-05
  • ISBN : 1786633574
  • Pages : 480 pages

Download or read book Supercommunity written by E-Flux and published by Verso Books. This book was released on 2017-12-05 with total page 480 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Leading artists, theorists, and writers exhume the dystopian and utopian futures contained within the present “I am the supercommunity, and you are only starting to recognize me. I grew out of something that used to be humanity. Some have compared me to angry crowds in public squares; others compare me to wind and atmosphere, or to software.” Invited to exhibit at the 56th Venice Biennale, e-flux journal produced a single issue over a four-month span, publishing an article a day both online and on site from Venice. In essays, poems, short stories, and plays, artists and theorists trace the negative collective that is the subject of contemporary life, in which art, the internet, and globalization have shed their utopian guises but persist as naked power, in the face of apocalyptic ecological disaster and against the claims of the social commons. “I convert care to cruelty, and cruelty back to care. I convert political desires to economic flows and data, and then I convert them back again. I convert revolutions to revelations. I don’t want security, I want to leave, and then disperse myself everywhere and all the time.”

  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 180 pages

Download or read book Seeing the Centre written by Alison French and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 180 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Albert Namatjira was a member of the Aranda people of Central Australia (now referred to as the Western Aranda or Arrernte language group). Following the success of his first solo exhibition in Melbourne in 1938, Namatjira became increasingly famous, with popular reproductions of his works being hung in countless Australian homes. The first prominent Indigenous artist to achieve household recognition in a modern idiom, Namatjira subsequently became a tragic figure set against the background of assimilation debates and entangled aesthetic prejudices of the time. His art became virtually ignored by the mainstream of the Australian art world. This book, especially commissioned by the Gordon Darling Foundation and the National Gallery for the centenary of Namatjira's birth, redresses this neglect.

Book The Railroad and the Art of Place

Download or read book The Railroad and the Art of Place written by David Kahler and published by Center for Railroad Photography & Arts. This book was released on 2016 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the late 1980s, David Kahler was deeply inspired by seeing an exhibition of O. Winston Link photographs. He soon began making annual trips to the West Virginia and eastern Kentucky coalfields, destinations that strongly resonated with his own aesthetic of "place." Armed with a used Leica M6 and gritty Tri-X film, he and his wife made six week-long trips in the dead of winter to photograph trains along the Pocahontas Division of the Norfolk Southern Railway. Nearly one hundred images edited from this body of work form the core of The Railroad and the Art of Place, along with a selection of earlier Pennsylvania Railroad steam-era photographs that reflect Kahler's interest in the railroad landscape from an early age. Also included are three essays by Kahler, Scott Lothes, and Jeff Brouws, discussing the personal motivations, historical context, and aesthetic development behind the photography. With funding for printing provided by the Kahler Family Charitable Fund, all sales will go to support the Center's work.

Book Pamphlet Architecture 27 Tooling

Download or read book Pamphlet Architecture 27 Tooling written by Benjamin Aranda and published by Princeton Architectural Press. This book was released on 2006 with total page 104 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We all know that today's architectural design has moved from the sketchpad to the screen - the era of the Mayline and the drafting board now seems downright Paleolithic - but techniques for using the computer not just as a tool for rendering but as a generative instrument remain woefully unexplored. The technologically progressive young firm Aranda/Lasch illustrates how advanced computational methods and algorithmic codes can be used to foster architectural design. "Tooling" explores patterns generated by computer codes that in turn create an organizational template assembling projects. By openly sharing these codes, the authors seek to foster further investigation into their methods, allowing other architects to model and evolve more critical and insightful geometries and patterns.

Book excerpt: If all things in the world can be considered as sources of aesthetic experience, then art no longer holds a privileged position. Rather, art comes between the subject and the world, and any aesthetic discourse used to legitimize art must also necessarily serve to undermine it. Following his recent books Art Power and The Communist Postscript, in Going Public Boris Groys looks to escape entrenched aesthetic and sociological understandings of art--which always assume the position of the spectator, of the consumer. Let us instead consider art from the position of the producer, who does not ask what it looks like or where it comes from, but why it exists in the first place. Boris Groys is Professor at New York University and Senior Research Fellow at the Academy of Design, Karlsruhe. He is the author of many books, including The Total Art of Stalinism, Ilya Kabakov: The Man Who Flew into Space from His Apartment, Art Power, The Communist Postscript, History Becomes Form: Moscow Conceptualism. e-flux journal Series edited by Julieta Aranda, Brian Kuan Wood, Anton Vidokle
