Book excerpt: The Teachings of The Order of Christian Mystics expound an all-inclusive Cosmic Philosophy. COMING WORLD CHANGES A rational summary of the many recent prophecies as to world cataclysms, the value of such prophecies, and the scientific and philosophic principles underlying such cyclic changes in the earth's surface. Not a pessimistic, hopeless and fear-producing volume, but presenting the underlying principles of the changes, and a definite remedy for shortening "the days of tribulation." What but the dawn of the new Age of Light, the great Aquarian Age, when the Sign of the Son of Man shall reign in heaven; when the ancient priesthood shall be gathered from the Four Winds again to receive the an-cient wisdom of the Spiritual Sun direct from its Infinite Source and give it forth that its rays of Divine Truth may again illumine the minds and warm the hearts of mankind. All spiritual prophecies have two aspects: individual and collective. They are first fulfilled in the individual hearts and lives of the few who can grasp their inner meaning, and then, as such individuals become more and more numerous, they make it possible for the prophecies to be fulfilled for a whole nation, a Race and finally for all mankind. Thus far only individually has this spiritual realization prophesied by the angelic host been fulfilled. For mankind has never yet collectively realized its common origin in the Divine, and hence its essential spiritual brotherhood. Only the realization of this brotherhood can bring about the peace and good-will so long promised by the heavenly host." Contents -Prophecies of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and many others. -Geological Consider-ations, the scientific aspect. -The Philosophy of Planetary Changes such as sank Atlantis, etc. -The King of the World and the predicted Asiatic invasion of Europe. -The Heart of the World. The relation of America to world conditions. -The Battle of Armageddon. Psychic factors in the World War, etc. -The Remedy. Based on scientific psychological principles.

Book When Were You Born

Download or read book When Were You Born written by Cheiro and published by Cosimo, Inc.. This book was released on 2007-04-01 with total page 133 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: He was the Jeane Dixon of the early 20th century, psychic advisor to world-famous names in politics, entertainment, and royalty. But he lied about his own name, calling himself-when not answering to "Cheiro"-"Count Louis Hamon" though he was of rather more humble origin. So it's your call: Can trust him to accurately assess your character based solely on the month of your birth? In this book, first published in 1912, he "reveals": . which birth month is known for producing people who are "excellent in diplomacy," who "dazzle their listeners by their wit and brilliancy" . which month sees the arrival of those "inclined to become wrapped up in themselves and their own ideas" . when "very lonely" people are born . which month produces "good literary critics" . and more. Irish occultist Cheiro-aka WILLIAM JOHN WARNER (1866-1936)-wrote a number of books, including Palmistry for All and Cheiro's Guide to the Hand. Among his famous followers were Mark Twain and Oscar Wilde.

Book Innovative Approaches to EU Multilevel Implementation

Download or read book Innovative Approaches to EU Multilevel Implementation written by Eva Thomann and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-10-23 with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Multi-level governance systems like the European Union (EU) calibrate integration with member state discretion in order to implement common, yet context-sensitive solutions to shared policy problems. Research on implementation in the EU typically focuses on legal compliance with EU policy. However, this focus gives us an incomplete picture of EU implementation, its diversity and practice. The contributions of this collection represent a shift toward a more performance-oriented perspective on EU implementation as problem-solving. They approach implementation fundamentally as a process of interpretation of superordinate law by actors who are embedded within multiple contexts arising from the coexistence of dynamics of Europeanization, on the one hand, and what has been termed ‘domestication’, on the other. Moving beyond legal compliance, the contributions provide new evidence on the diversity of domestic responses to EU policy, the roles and motivations of actors implementing EU policy, and the ‘black box’ of EU law in action and its enforcement. By reassessing the relative importance of EU policy and domestic factors and actors for the outcomes of EU implementation, the results give insight into on the nuanced interplay between Europeanization and domestication forces, useful for both EU researchers and practitioners. The chapters originally published as a special issue in the Journal of European Public Policy.

Book The Pacific Alliance in a World of Preferential Trade Agreements

Download or read book The Pacific Alliance in a World of Preferential Trade Agreements written by Pierre Sauvé and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-06-29 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume focuses on one of the most innovative deep integration constructs, The Pacific Alliance, which aims at expanding the frontiers of trade and investment governance in Latin America. It draws on a conference held at Externado University in Bogota, Colombia, in November 2015, bringing together leading scholars, practitioners and officers of public, regional and international organisations interested in a critical analysis of the Alliance, its distinctiveness and likely future directions. The volume features contributions from the multi-disciplinary lens of law, political science and economics. The Pacific Alliance, comprising Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, aims through a participatory and consensual manner to promote the free circulation of goods, services, capital and persons among its members, and to secure deep economic integration through collaboration across a broader set of policy areas than typically obtains in more traditional preferential trade agreements. This volume is of interest to policy makers and staff of international organizations involved in trade and investment negotiations, international economic governance in general as well as faculty, researchers and graduate students of these topics and of international political economy and comparative regionalism.

Book Instruments of Land Policy

Download or read book Instruments of Land Policy written by Jean-David Gerber and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-01-17 with total page 354 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In dealing with scarce land, planners often need to interact with, and sometimes confront, property right-holders to address complex property rights situations. To reinforce their position in situations of rivalrous land uses, planners can strategically use and combine different policy instruments in addition to standard land use plans. Effectively steering spatial development requires a keen understanding of these instruments of land policy. This book not only presents how such instruments function, it additionally examines how public authorities strategically manage the scarcity of land, either increasing or decreasing it, to promote a more sparing use of resources. It presents 13 instruments of land policy in specific national contexts and discusses them from the perspectives of other countries. Through the use of concrete examples, the book reveals how instruments of land policy are used strategically in different policy contexts.
