Book excerpt: Is it your aim to grow in God? "Let it grow, as a small flame grows into a fire" (2 Timothy 1:6, NCV). Is your soul prospering in the Lord? The apostle John wishes his readers: "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers" (3 John 2). Your spiritual growth is a choice. Soulzer fortifies every Christian who is truly fond of progressing in Christlike character by imitating Him even when no one is watching. To become "a man after God's own heart" -- Detach yourself from the "evil desires" of the world After this self-denial - "sanctify the Lord God in your hearts" "As you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him" By God's "power we live and move and exist" "Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you" Realize the Lord by feeling His "presence" with you Become "a temple of God" as "the Spirit of God dwells in you" And let the people around you taste "the fruit of the Spirit" Keep on "growing into the whole measure of all the fullness of Christ" and Continue your soul soldiering "until Christ is formed in you." Jesus said, "I have conquered the world!" (John 16:33, NRSV). A Christian is a lifelong fighter. "Everyone who has been fathered by God conquers the world. This is the conquering power that has conquered the world: our faith" (1 John 5:4, NET). "Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us" (Romans 8:37). "Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ" (2 Corinthians 2:14). As "the victory is from the Lord" (Proverbs 21:31, NET) you need to "fight against sin" (Hebrews 12:4, BBE), and keep on conquering the D-evil. This is a conquerable combat. You can certainly accomplish a victory over sin for "He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4). Practice Christliness and become a Christ at heart!

Book The Hijacked Mind There is a major war for the human soul

Download or read book The Hijacked Mind There is a major war for the human soul written by Matthew Simmons and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-11-14 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE WORLD IS HIJACKED, AND MANY IN THE BODY OF CHRIST ARE HIJACKED! We are in a very real war, a war between Jesus Christ and the anti-Christ, a war between the flesh and the Spirit. Look at this supernatural war: People have been scarred by Satan, serial deception, and the surgeons of sin. People are mingled in lifestyles of pantheism, paganism, an exploding satanism, black cat-smooching, crystal-rubbing, and chicken bone-massaging witchcraft, transgenderism, serial fornication, homosexuality, and public schools teach the gender-confusion curriculum. People are involved in corruption in the government that defies description, state-supported and recreational murder (abortion), back-handed and pistol-whipped addictions, and perpetual, pathological hatred and racism. Law, philosophy, poetry, positive thinking, and psychology cannot change you! Shelley, Keats, Bryon, and Shakespeare cannot change you! You cannot legislate morality, immorality, and virtue. Law will not stop murder, adultery, stealing, rape, child sex trafficking, and government corruption (the least government is the best government), but Christ can do that! Jesus is the answer! The only solution is a blood transfusion from the veins of the Lamb of God. This book retards the deliverance ministry, which is the “sneeze,” “cough,” and “vomit” movement. People are conjuring up, coughing up, and vomiting up Charismatic spirits and looking like utter fools, satanically manifesting like godless pagans, sacrificing themselves to totem poles, a vomiting and manifesting machine—the Manifesting Ministry Movement. The Hijacked Mind retards the hyper-grace movement. If you teach a grace that forgives sin but does not produce repentance, you are preaching from satanic literature. Grace, without repentance, is paganism. The love of God without the wrath of God is Satan’s theology. Love without law produces a secular humanist, and law without love produces a Pharisee. The Hijacked Mind retards atheism. Atheists are mastered by primates, and neo-pagans and environmentalists are anointed by birds, bugs, and bureaucrats. The Hijacked Mind shares the truth of Christ and the absolute existence of Christ. This book shares the biblical truths about heaven and hell, and if you do not believe in heaven or hell, that is because you worship your own back-porch philosophy and think your intellect supersedes the knowledge of God and the truth—this is ignorance on a rampage.

Book Toleration and Understanding in Locke

Download or read book Toleration and Understanding in Locke written by Nicholas Jolley and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2016-12-06 with total page 181 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite recent advances in Locke scholarship, philosophers and political theorists have paid little attention to the relations among his three greatest works: An Essay Concerning Human Understanding, Two Treatises of Government, and Epistola de Tolerantia. As a result our picture of Locke's thought is a curiously fragmented one. Toleration and Understanding in Locke argues that these works are unified by a concern to promote the cause of religious toleration. Making extensive use of Locke's neglected replies to Proast, Nicholas Jolley shows how Locke draws on his epistemological principles to criticize religious persecution - for Locke, since revelation is an object of belief, not knowledge, coercion by the state in religious matters is not morally justified. In this volume Jolley also seeks to show how the Two Treatises of Government and the letters for toleration adopt the same contractualist approach to political theory; Locke argues for toleration from the function of the state where this is determined by the decisions of rational contracting parties. Throughout, attention is paid to demonstrating the range of Locke's arguments for toleration and to defending them, where possible, against recent criticisms. The book includes an account of the development of Locke's views about religious toleration from the beginning to the end of his career; it also includes discussions of his individualism about knowledge and belief, his critique of religious enthusiasm, his commitment to the minimal creed, and his teachings about natural law. Locke emerges as a rather systematic thinker whose arguments are highly relevant to modern debates about religious toleration.

Book Stanislavsky A Life in Letters

Download or read book Stanislavsky A Life in Letters written by Laurence Senelick and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-10-08 with total page 781 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Konstantin Stanislavsky transformed theatre in the West and was indisputably one of the twentieth century’s greatest innovators. His life and work mark some of the most significant artistic and political milestones of that tumultuous century, from the emancipation of the serfs to the Russian Revolution. Little wonder, then, that his correspondence contains gripping exchanges with the famous and infamous of his day: men such as Tolstoy, Chekhov, Trotsky and Stalin, among others. Laurence Senelick, one of the world’s foremost scholars of Russian literature, mines the Moscow archives and the definitive Russian edition of Stanislavsky’s letters, to produce the fullest collection of the letters in any language other than Russian. He sheds new light on this fascinating field. Senelick takes us from the earliest extant letter of an eleven-year-old Konstantin in 1874, through his work as actor, director and actor trainer with the Moscow Art Theatre, to messages written just before his death in 1938 at the age of seventy-five. We discover Stanislavsky as son, brother and father, as lover and husband, as businessman and "internal emigre." He is seen as a wealthy tourist and an impoverished touring actor, a privileged subject of the Tsar and a harried victim of the Bolsheviks. Senelick shares key insights into Stanislavsky's work on such important productions as The Seagull, The Cherry Orchard, Hamlet, Othello, and The Marriage of Figaro. The letters also reveal the steps that led up to the publication of his writings My Life in Art and An Actor’s Work on Himself. This handsome edition is also comprehensively annotated and fully illustrated.
