Book Stochastic PDE s and Kolmogorov Equations in Infinite Dimensions

Download or read book Stochastic PDE s and Kolmogorov Equations in Infinite Dimensions written by N.V. Krylov and published by Springer. This book was released on 2006-11-15 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Kolmogorov equations are second order parabolic equations with a finite or an infinite number of variables. They are deeply connected with stochastic differential equations in finite or infinite dimensional spaces. They arise in many fields as Mathematical Physics, Chemistry and Mathematical Finance. These equations can be studied both by probabilistic and by analytic methods, using such tools as Gaussian measures, Dirichlet Forms, and stochastic calculus. The following courses have been delivered: N.V. Krylov presented Kolmogorov equations coming from finite-dimensional equations, giving existence, uniqueness and regularity results. M. Röckner has presented an approach to Kolmogorov equations in infinite dimensions, based on an LP-analysis of the corresponding diffusion operators with respect to suitably chosen measures. J. Zabczyk started from classical results of L. Gross, on the heat equation in infinite dimension, and discussed some recent results.

Book Probabilistic Models for Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations

Download or read book Probabilistic Models for Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations written by Denis Talay and published by Springer. This book was released on 2006-11-13 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The lecture courses of the CIME Summer School on Probabilistic Models for Nonlinear PDE's and their Numerical Applications (April 1995) had a three-fold emphasis: first, on the weak convergence of stochastic integrals; second, on the probabilistic interpretation and the particle approximation of equations coming from Physics (conservation laws, Boltzmann-like and Navier-Stokes equations); third, on the modelling of networks by interacting particle systems. This book, collecting the notes of these courses, will be useful to probabilists working on stochastic particle methods and on the approximation of SPDEs, in particular, to PhD students and young researchers.

Book Real and Stochastic Analysis

Download or read book Real and Stochastic Analysis written by M. M. Rao and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 411 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As in the case of the two previous volumes published in 1986 and 1997, the purpose of this monograph is to focus the interplay between real (functional) analysis and stochastic analysis show their mutual benefits and advance the subjects. The presentation of each article, given as a chapter, is in a research-expository style covering the respective topics in depth. In fact, most of the details are included so that each work is essentially self contained and thus will be of use both for advanced graduate students and other researchers interested in the areas considered. Moreover, numerous new problems for future research are suggested in each chapter. The presented articles contain a substantial number of new results as well as unified and simplified accounts of previously known ones. A large part of the material cov ered is on stochastic differential equations on various structures, together with some applications. Although Brownian motion plays a key role, (semi-) martingale theory is important for a considerable extent. Moreover, noncommutative analysis and probabil ity have a prominent role in some chapters, with new ideas and results. A more detailed outline of each of the articles appears in the introduction and outline to assist readers in selecting and starting their work. All chapters have been reviewed.

Book General Stochastic Measures

Download or read book General Stochastic Measures written by Vadym M. Radchenko and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2022-09-21 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is devoted to the study of stochastic measures (SMs). An SM is a sigma-additive in probability random function, defined on a sigma-algebra of sets. SMs can be generated by the increments of random processes from many important classes such as square-integrable martingales and fractional Brownian motion, as well as alpha-stable processes. SMs include many well-known stochastic integrators as partial cases. General Stochastic Measures provides a comprehensive theoretical overview of SMs, including the basic properties of the integrals of real functions with respect to SMs. A number of results concerning the Besov regularity of SMs are presented, along with equations driven by SMs, types of solution approximation and the averaging principle. Integrals in the Hilbert space and symmetric integrals of random functions are also addressed. The results from this book are applicable to a wide range of stochastic processes, making it a useful reference text for researchers and postgraduate or postdoctoral students who specialize in stochastic analysis.

Book Stochastic Partial Differential Equations in Infinite Dimensional Spaces

Download or read book Stochastic Partial Differential Equations in Infinite Dimensional Spaces written by Michel Métivier and published by Springer. This book was released on 1988-10 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While this book was being printed, the news of Michel Métivier's premature death arrived at the Scuola Normale Superiore. The present book originated from a series of lectures Michel Métivier held at the Scuola Normale during the years 1986 and 1987. The subject of these lectures was the analysis of weak solutions to stochastic partial equations, a topic that requires a deep knowledge of nonlinear functional analysis and probability. A vast literature, involving a number of applications to various scientific fields is devoted to this problem and many different approaches have been developed. In his lectures Métivier gave a new treatment of the subject, which unifies the theory and provides several new results. The power of his new approach has not yet been fully exploited and would certainly have led him to further interesting developments. For this reason, besides the invaluable enthusiasm in life he was able to communicate to everybody, his recent premature departure is even more painful.

Book Numerical Solution of Stochastic Differential Equations with Jumps in Finance

Download or read book Numerical Solution of Stochastic Differential Equations with Jumps in Finance written by Eckhard Platen and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2010-07-23 with total page 868 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In financial and actuarial modeling and other areas of application, stochastic differential equations with jumps have been employed to describe the dynamics of various state variables. The numerical solution of such equations is more complex than that of those only driven by Wiener processes, described in Kloeden & Platen: Numerical Solution of Stochastic Differential Equations (1992). The present monograph builds on the above-mentioned work and provides an introduction to stochastic differential equations with jumps, in both theory and application, emphasizing the numerical methods needed to solve such equations. It presents many new results on higher-order methods for scenario and Monte Carlo simulation, including implicit, predictor corrector, extrapolation, Markov chain and variance reduction methods, stressing the importance of their numerical stability. Furthermore, it includes chapters on exact simulation, estimation and filtering. Besides serving as a basic text on quantitative methods, it offers ready access to a large number of potential research problems in an area that is widely applicable and rapidly expanding. Finance is chosen as the area of application because much of the recent research on stochastic numerical methods has been driven by challenges in quantitative finance. Moreover, the volume introduces readers to the modern benchmark approach that provides a general framework for modeling in finance and insurance beyond the standard risk-neutral approach. It requires undergraduate background in mathematical or quantitative methods, is accessible to a broad readership, including those who are only seeking numerical recipes, and includes exercises that help the reader develop a deeper understanding of the underlying mathematics.

Book Stochastic Differential Equations and Processes

Download or read book Stochastic Differential Equations and Processes written by Mounir Zili and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-09-24 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Selected papers submitted by participants of the international Conference “Stochastic Analysis and Applied Probability 2010” ( www.saap2010.org ) make up the basis of this volume. The SAAP 2010 was held in Tunisia, from 7-9 October, 2010, and was organized by the “Applied Mathematics & Mathematical Physics” research unit of the preparatory institute to the military academies of Sousse (Tunisia), chaired by Mounir Zili. The papers cover theoretical, numerical and applied aspects of stochastic processes and stochastic differential equations. The study of such topic is motivated in part by the need to model, understand, forecast and control the behavior of many natural phenomena that evolve in time in a random way. Such phenomena appear in the fields of finance, telecommunications, economics, biology, geology, demography, physics, chemistry, signal processing and modern control theory, to mention just a few. As this book emphasizes the importance of numerical and theoretical studies of the stochastic differential equations and stochastic processes, it will be useful for a wide spectrum of researchers in applied probability, stochastic numerical and theoretical analysis and statistics, as well as for graduate students. To make it more complete and accessible for graduate students, practitioners and researchers, the editors Mounir Zili and Daria Filatova have included a survey dedicated to the basic concepts of numerical analysis of the stochastic differential equations, written by Henri Schurz.
