Book excerpt: Dans le cadre du Traité d'Interdiction Complète des Essais nucléaires, les infrasons sont une des méthodes permettant de détecter les explosions nucléaires. Celles-ci doivent être distinguées des sources naturelles d'infrasons telles que les rentrées atmosphériques de météorites. Afin de modéliser une météorite comme source infrasonore, des simulations volumes finis de l'écoulement hypersonique sont portées en champ suffisamment lointain afin de satisfaire les hypothèses de l'acoustique. Elles sont ensuite couplées à une méthode de tracé de rayons non linéaire afin de propager la signature dans l'atmosphère jusqu'au sol. En gaz parfait, cette approche permet de valider les modèles théoriques basés sur des hypothèses simplificatrices. Les simulations plus réalistes en gaz réels à l'équilibre thermochimique montrent une forte modification du champ proche mais ont une influence modérée sur la signature acoustique au sol. Les résultats numériques sont comparés à des enregistrements infrasonores et sismiques dans le cadre de la météorite de Carancas (Pérou, 2007), largement documentée. Cette confrontation met en évidence un accord raisonnable sur les spectres des signaux mais une surestimation importante de la surpression simulée pour les récepteurs les plus proches du cratère d'impact. Cette étude nous a également permis de proposer une nouvelle trajectoire de rentrée de la météorite et d'identifier l'une des arrivées enregistrées comme liée au bang sonique.
