Book excerpt: Actuellement, les fabricants sont soumis à une pression économique importante et à une concurrence internationale accrue due à la globalisation des marchés. Pour réussir, les fabricants doivent être capables de répondre rapidement aux changements de la demande en adaptant leurs systèmes de production. Cette adaptation aux changements peut être réalisée à travers multiples reconfigurations du système de production.Les travaux présentés dans ce mémoire portent sur l'élaboration des méthodes de recherche opérationnelle permettant d'accompagner le décideur lors de la reconfiguration d'une ligne de transfert ou d'assemblage. Ce problème apparaît lorsqu'un nouveau produit doit être fabriqué par une ligne existante ou lorsqu'il y a eu des changements dans les caractéristiques du produit. Par conséquent, il devient nécessaire de modifier la configuration du système de production tout en minimisant les coûts induits. Ces coûts sont évalués différemment pour les systèmes automatisésou manuels. Dans le premier cas, qui correspond au cas des lignes de transfert, pour limiter les investissements, il est souhaitable de réutiliser au maximum les équipements existants à condition que les contraintes techniques et technologiques soient respectées. Dans le cas des lignes manuelles qui sont représentées dans notre étude par les lignes d'assemblage, l'objectif est de minimiser les coûts liés à l'apprentissage des opérateurs causés par la réaffectation de leurs tâches.Les méthodes de résolution exactes basées sur la modélisation mathématique et la programmation linéaire en nombre mixtes ainsi qu'une méthode de type goal programming sont développées dans ce travail pour argumenter la prise de décisions lors de la reconfiguration des lignes de production. Les méthodes proposées ont été testées avec succès sur des échantillons de problèmes proches des cas industriels et ont montré leur efficacité.

Book excerpt: L'objectif de la thèse est de créer et développer de nouvelles méthodes de résolution efficaces des problèmes combinatoires en configuration des lignes de fabrication. Deux problèmes ont été particulièrement étudiés: le problème d'équilibrage et de choix d'équipement pour des lignes dédiées et le problème de minimisation des coûts de changements de séries pour des lignes multi-produits. Une solution du premier problème consiste en une affectation admissible des ressources à un nombre de stations à déterminer de sorte que le coût total soit minimal. Afin de résoudre ce problème, nous l'avons réduit au problème de partition d'ensemble et l'avons résolu par des heuristiques gloutonnes et une méthode exacte de génération de contraintes. Les expérimentations sur différentes instances ont montré que la nouvelle approche de résolution surclasse les approches antérieures de la littérature en termes de qualité de solution et de temps de calcul. Pour le second problème deux critères sont considérés lexicographiquement : la minimisation du nombre de stations et la minimisation du coût de changement de séries. Nous avons examiné successivement les cas d'exécution parallèle et séquentielle des opérations. Des solutions approchées ont été trouvées par des heuristiques gloutonnes. Ensuite, nous avons proposé deux modèles de programmation linéaire en nombres entiers (PLNE) afin de trouver le nombre de stations minimal et ensuite d'obtenir le coût de changement de séries minimal. Les résultats des expérimentations sur ces nouveaux problèmes se sont avérés prometteurs à la fois en termes de qualité de solution et de temps de calcul.

En effet, de la conception du système à son fonctionnement performant, de nombreux problèmes, difficiles à résoudre, se posent à tous les niveaux. L'objet de cette thèse est la résolution des problèmes combinatoires de nature académique, avec certains aspects pratiques pour leur utilisation dans les ateliers de production : l'agencement des équipements en fonction des flux et l'ordonnancement, ... Une première partie est consacrée plus particulièrement à l'utilisation des hypergraphes sont la représentation des problèmes liés à la gestion des outils sur une machine à commande numérique (NC-machine) et à l'agencement des machines sur une ou plusieurs lignes. Suite à cette représentation, nous avons proposé une méthode générique pour la représentation des hypergraphes. Une étude détaillée a été faite pour le choix approprié des paramètres de la méthode dont l'adaptation a donné de bons résultats pour la gestion des outils et l'agencement. La deuxième partie consiste à ajouter, pour des travaux existants, des modules permettant d'améliorer la qualité des solutions ou de réduire le temps de calcul. Nous avons proposé pour les méthodes d'amélioration itératives (recuit simulé, recherche tabou, ...) des systèmes de voisinage guidés qui tiennent compte des caractéristiques du critère à optimiser dans le cas d'un problème de flow-shop (chaîne de montage), l'adaptation de Pecos-Solver, langage de programmation par contraintes, pour le problème de job-shop (atelier généralisé) et l'utilisation combinée des méthodes d'ordonnancement et de la simulation à événements discrets dans le cas d'un problème de job-shop sans attente (atelier généralisé a flux continu de type traitement de surface HSP).

Book excerpt: Les travaux de cette thèse concernent la conception et l'optimisation de lignes de transfert reconfigurables. L'objectif principal est de concevoir une ligne d'usinage à moindre coût tout en respectant les contraintes techniques, technologiques et économiques du problème. Le problème d'optimisation correspondant est un problème d'équilibrage de lignes d'usinage sujet à des contraintes spécifiques. Il consiste à affecter les opérations aux stations de travail en minimisant les coûts d'installation. En plus des contraintes habituelles de ce type de problème, à savoir, les contraintes de précédence, d'inclusion et d'exclusion, nous avons dû considérer des contraintes d'accessibilité. De plus, la spécificité principale des lignes reconfigurables par rapport aux lignes de transfert dédiées, vient de la réalisation en série des opérations. Celle-ci rend souvent nécessaire la mise en place de stations équipées de plusieurs centres d'usinage travaillant en parallèle pour obtenir les volumes de production souhaités. Enfin, l'utilisation d'une tête d'usinage mono-broche induit la prise en compte de temps inter-opératoire de déplacements et de changement d'outils qui dépendent de la séquence d'opérations. Dans un premier temps, nous avons proposé une modélisation mathématique du problème à l'aide d'un programme linéaire en nombres mixtes. Nous avons aussi développé des méthodes de calcul de bornes inférieures ainsi qu'une procédure de prétraitement. Cependant, les contraintes additionnelles rendent la résolution du problème d'équilibrage plus difficile que dans le cas des lignes dédiées, et l'approche proposée ne permet généralement pas de résoudre des instances de taille industrielle. Pour répondre à ce besoin, nous avons donc développé plusieurs méthodes de résolution approchées du problème en nous inspirant de métaheuristiques efficaces sur des problèmes d'optimisation combinatoire.

Book excerpt: The generalized area of multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) can be defined as the body of methods and procedures by which the concern for multiple conflicting criteria can be formally incorporated into the analytical process. MCDM consists mostly of two branches, multiple criteria optimization and multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA). While MCDA is typically concerned with multiple criteria problems that have a small number of alternatives often in an environment of uncertainty (location of an airport, type of drug rehabilitation program), multiple criteria optimization is typically directed at problems formulated within a mathematical programming framework, but with a stack of objectives instead of just one (river basin management, engineering component design, product distribution). It is about the most modern treatment of multiple criteria optimization that this book is concerned. I look at this book as a nicely organized and well-rounded presentation of what I view as ”new wave” topics in multiple criteria optimization. Looking back to the origins of MCDM, most people agree that it was not until about the early 1970s that multiple criteria optimization c- gealed as a field. At this time, and for about the following fifteen years, the focus was on theories of multiple objective linear programming that subsume conventional (single criterion) linear programming, algorithms for characterizing the efficient set, theoretical vector-maximum dev- opments, and interactive procedures.
