Download or read book Application of Dynamic Programming to Optimal Shutdown Control written by M. Ash and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 27 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The digital computer algorithm produced by the methods of dynamic programming, generates optimal reactor shutdown programs that (i) minimize the postshutdown xenon concentration maximum, or that (ii) minimize the xenon concentration itself at a given postshutdown time. Such shutdown programs are found to consist of pulsing the reactor at specified intervals. The number and duration of the pulses depend on the parameters involved, especially the magnitude of the flux constraints, and the constraints on the xenon override reactivity available in a given fuel loading. Download or read book Optimal Shutdown Control of Nuclear Reactors by Milton Ash written by and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1966-01-01 with total page 186 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, we study theoretical and practical aspects of computing methods for mathematical modelling of nonlinear systems. A number of computing techniques are considered, such as methods of operator approximation with any given accuracy; operator interpolation techniques including a non-Lagrange interpolation; methods of system representation subject to constraints associated with concepts of causality, memory and stationarity; methods of system representation with an accuracy that is the best within a given class of models; methods of covariance matrix estimation;methods for low-rank matrix approximations; hybrid methods based on a combination of iterative procedures and best operator approximation; andmethods for information compression and filtering under condition that a filter model should satisfy restrictions associated with causality and different types of memory. As a result, the book represents a blend of new methods in general computational analysis, and specific, but also generic, techniques for study of systems theory ant its particularbranches, such as optimal filtering and information compression.- Best operator approximation,- Non-Lagrange interpolation,- Generic Karhunen-Loeve transform- Generalised low-rank matrix approximation- Optimal data compression- Optimal nonlinear filtering

Download or read book Principles of Combinatorics written by Berge and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 1971-04-20 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Berge's Principles of Combinatorics is now an acknowledged classic work of the field. Complementary to his previous books, Berge's introduction deals largely with enumeration. The choice of topics is balanced, the presentation elegant, and the text can be followed by anyone with an interest in the subject with only a little algebra required as a background. Some topics were here described for the first time, including Robinston-Shensted theorum, the Eden-Schutzenberger theorum, and facts connecting Young diagrams, trees, and the symmetric group.
