Very few of us, in proportion, can afford to travel in more than one or two countries, or three, or four; and we cannot expect to see all that is worth seeing, even in them. Give us something concise, in not-too-small type, simple, practical and good-humored - where we can easily find what we want to know, and avoid finding the ten thousand things that we don't want to know. Tell us how to see the best things in the least space of time and at the least expenditure of money; and inform us, among other things, how much time and money ought to be consumed in making the best short rounds."
