Book Antiproton Production in 14 6 Ater Dot GeV

Download or read book Antiproton Production in 14 6 Ater Dot GeV written by and published by . This book was released on 1990 with total page 4 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Preliminary data are presented for the production of antiprotons and other charged particles produced in minimum bias and central Si + Al and Si + Au collisions measured using the E802 spectrometer at the Brookhaven Alternating Gradient Synchrotron. The antiproton data presented cover the range of transverse momentum from 0.3 to 1.2 GeV/c and lab rapidities from 0.9 to 1.7. The extracted rapidity densities, transverse mass slopes, and particle ratios from minimum bias and central Si + A collisions are compared to those measured in p + p and p + A collisions.

Book Strange Particle and Antiproton Production in S Nucleus Collisions at 200 GeV

Download or read book Strange Particle and Antiproton Production in S Nucleus Collisions at 200 GeV written by and published by . This book was released on 1994 with total page 6 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Central S+S, S+Ag and S+Au collisions at 200 GeV/nucleon were studied in experiment NA35 at the CERN SPS. Recent results on strange particle production as well as the preliminary results on antiproton production are presented and discussed. Enhanced strangeness production relative to the pion and antiproton yields is observed in nucleus-nucleus collisions relative to p-p and p-A. Microscopic string models fail to consistently describe the available set of data.

Book Proton Production from Si Au Collisions at 14 5 A

Download or read book Proton Production from Si Au Collisions at 14 5 A written by and published by . This book was released on 1988 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recent results are presented from the study of central Si+Au .-->. p+X, Si+Au .-->. .pi./sup +-/+X, and Si+Cu .-->. p+X at 14.5 A/center dot/GeV. The distribution of protons in rapidity indicates that many target protons are found above 0.5 units. The variation of the slope parameter in rapidity is consistent with a thermal source of protons at the geometric center-of-mass rapidity. 4 refs., 4 figs.

Book Antiproton Production at 0 Degrees for Si A and Au A Collisions at the AGS

Download or read book Antiproton Production at 0 Degrees for Si A and Au A Collisions at the AGS written by and published by . This book was released on 1994 with total page 10 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We present results on antiproton production obtained in the AGS experiments E858 and preliminary results of E878. The yields of antiprotons in Si + A collisions are shown to sale with number of first collisions. The rapidity distributions for all targets (Au, Cu and Al) and both beams (si at 14.6 GeV/c and A at 11. GeV/c) have gaussian shapes peaking at y{sub NN} and with similar standard deviations. From E878 we report a difference in the shape of the antiproton rapidity distributions obtained from two samples of the data populated with central and peripheral events respectively. In A induced reactions the A dependence of the antiproton yields is small.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ladies and Gentlemen, dear colleagues, Welcome in Bodrum to the NASion Hot and Dense Nuclear Matter! Welcome also to Mrs. Governor Dr. Lale AYTAMAN. We are very honored, that you, Governor of the Mugla-State, came here to greet us. We are particularly grateful to you that you offered help and assured us to do everything that we can enjoy two safe weeks in Bodrum, in this wonderful area of your country. I have chosen Bodrum as the place for our NASI because I like this historic region where many cultures meet (e. g. , Oriental and European (Greek, Roman) culture) and where you find numerous places which played a role in ancient science and in early Christianity- I mention Milet (Thales) and Ephesus (Apostle Paulus), both of which are close by. Our NASI will exhibit the most recent developments in high energy heavy ion physics. The meeting is both a school and a conference: A school, because there are very many advanced students, who frequently are themselves already top researchers, attending the lectures of distinguished scientists and leading researchers. It is also a conference because new material, new results of this exciting and wonderful field - our field - high energy heavy ion physics will be presented. It is the topic of hot and dense nuclear matter, which we are focusing on.

Book Centrality and Collision System Dependence of Antiproton Production from P A to Au Au Collisions at AGS Energies

Download or read book Centrality and Collision System Dependence of Antiproton Production from P A to Au Au Collisions at AGS Energies written by and published by . This book was released on 1997 with total page 6 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Antiproton production in heavy ion collisions reflects subtle interplay between initial production and absorption by nucleons. Because the AGS energies (10--20 A·GeV/c) are close to the antiproton production threshold, antiproton may be sensitive to cooperative processes such as QGP and hadronic multi-step processes. On the other hand, antiproton has been proposed as a probe of baryon density due to large N{anti N} annihilation cross sections. Cascade models predict the maximum baryon density reaches about 10 times the normal nucleus density in central Au+Au collisions, where the strong antiproton absorption is expected. In this paper, the authors show systematic studies of antiproton production from p+A to Au+Au collisions.

Book Strangeness Production in Si Au Interactions at 14 6 GeV

Download or read book Strangeness Production in Si Au Interactions at 14 6 GeV written by and published by . This book was released on 1989 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Production of strange particles in proton-proton interactions is systematically suppressed relative to the production of non-strange particles. A first order goal of experiments on strangeness production in nucleus-nucleus collisions is to find out if strangeness is suppressed in a way similar to the p-p interactions or whether the nuclear environment changes the behaviour. This paper investigates this possibility. 13 refs., 1 tab.

Book Multiple Collision Effects on the Antiproton Production by High Energy Proton 100 GeV 1000 GeV

Download or read book Multiple Collision Effects on the Antiproton Production by High Energy Proton 100 GeV 1000 GeV written by and published by . This book was released on 1987 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Antiproton production rates which take into account multiple collision are calculated using a simple model. Methods to reduce capture of the produced antiprotons by the target are discussed, including geometry of target and the use of a high intensity laser. Antiproton production increases substantially above 150 GeV proton incident energy. The yield increases almost linearly with incident energy, alleviating space charge problems in the high current accelerator that produces large amounts of antiprotons.
