Download or read book Doped Tin Oxide Gas Sensors written by Shriram Patil and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2013 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Our society requires gas sensors for domestic, automotive, industrial applications due to the implication of gases in environmental control or dangerous emissions. Metal oxide resistive gas sensors are used in monitoring toxic gases as they offer very high sensitivity and relatively long-term stability. To enhance the sensor behavior doped semiconductor oxides material is used. In this context the author's contribution was to use the dopant like cobalt and molybdenum in noble material SnO2, which is the most extensively studied oxide for the sensor application. Its objectives were to develop a smart, mobile gas sensor system with low power consumption. For the synthesis spray Pyrolysis system has been used.To study the sensing characteristics towards detection of different gases and vapors, in air, compatible gas sensing systems were used. The author has investigated the influence of synthesis temperature, concentrations of precursor and dopant materials on gas sensing behavior in terms of the sensitivity, selectivity, response and recovery times. This book will help, who work on synthesis of thin films, especially using spray pyrolysis technique and the gas sensing characteristics.

Book Sensors Chemical and Biochemical Sensors

Download or read book Sensors Chemical and Biochemical Sensors written by Joachim Hesse and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2008-11-20 with total page 734 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'Sensors' is the first self-contained series to deal with the whole area of sensors. It describes general aspects, technical and physical fundamentals, construction, function, applications and developments of the various types of sensors. This is the first of two volumes focusing on chemical and biochemical sensors providing definitions, typical examples of chemical and biochemical sensors and historical remarks. It describes chemical sensor technologies and interdisciplinary tasks in the design of chemical sensors. The major part consists of a description of basic sensors. They include electrolyte sensors, solid electrolyte sensors, electronic conductivity and capacitance sensors, field effect sensors, calorimetric sensors, optochemical sensors, and mass sensitive sensors. This volume is an indispensable reference work for both specialists and newcomers, researchers and developers.

Book Antimony Doped Tin Oxide ATO Transparent Conductor

Download or read book Antimony Doped Tin Oxide ATO Transparent Conductor written by Appasaheb Babar and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2013 with total page 180 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Antimony doped tin oxide (ATO) thin films exhibit interesting properties in different field's of science and technology, such as low temperature electrochemical combustion of organic pollutants, ozone production and organic electro-synthesis. Being transparent to visible light while simultaneously possessing a relatively high electron concentration and mobility makes ATO as a key material in the field of TCOs, this has been focus of intensified study due to its technological importance as a solar energy material (i.e. energy generation and energy savings), thermal and environmental stability, low cost and easy fabrication. Usually SnO2 is doped with Sb because the substitution of Sn4+ by Sb5+ leads to a donor center very close to the conduction band. Thus ATO exhibits interesting properties, which arise from the coexistence of oxygen vacancies with antimony doping. Recently, SnO2 matrix doped materials is attracting great attention for their potential application as one of the ITO substitution.

Book Semiconducting Metal Oxides for Gas Sensing

Download or read book Semiconducting Metal Oxides for Gas Sensing written by Yonghui Deng and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-08-23 with total page 402 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The second edition of this book focuses on the synthesis, design, and application of semiconducting metal oxides as gas sensing materials, including the gas sensing mechanism, and modification methods for sensing materials, while also providing a comprehensive introduction to semiconductor gas sensing devices. As an essential part of IoT (Internet of things), gas sensors have shown great significance and promising prospects. Therefore, studies on functional mesoporous metal oxides, one of the most important gas sensing materials based on their unique Knudsen diffusion behavior and tailored pore structure, have increasingly attracted attention from various disciplines. The book offers a valuable reference guide to metal oxide gas sensing materials for undergraduate and graduate students alike. It will also benefit all researchers who are involved in synthesis and gas sensing of metal oxides nanomaterials with relevant frontier theories and concepts. Engineers working on research and development of semiconductor gas sensors will also find some new ideas for sensor design.
