The first chapter provides an informed glimpse into the historical perspective of palaeoprimatological, palaeontological, geological and archaeological studies i the Siwaliks with a particular emphasis on Northwestern India. The second chapter incorporates the first hand information on the geology, geomorphology and general aspects of the Haritalyangar area and evaluates in general the Siwalik environment of pre-human and human era.
