Book Anomalies dentaires nombre d origine syndromique

Download or read book Anomalies dentaires nombre d origine syndromique written by Emeric Portelli and published by . This book was released on 2014 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

This book was released on 2016 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Medical Traditions written by Alain Touwaide and published by de Gruyter. This book was released on 2021-12-31 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Medical traditions encapsulate the knowledge of life, health, nutrition, diseases and their treatment patiently assembled by populations over a long period of time in the past, carefully handed down through generations, and subsequently recorded in writing and preserved in books now scattered in libraries across the world. Rarely the object of a specific study, they are approached here as a field in its own right. The present essay explores such key topics as the impact of tradition approach on medical historiography, the relation between written documents and practice, and the transmission of knowledge across time and cultures with its possible modifications and their processes and causes. Though based on a decade-long close scrutiny of the Greek medical tradition, it establishes parallels with other traditions, and invites not only to do comparative study, but also to apply to other traditions the approach proposed here. By laying down the foundations for a fresh analysis of ancient medical knowledge as a discipline, Medical Traditions - Exploring the Field will be a reference for any scholar interested in the medical record of the past, be it for the sake of history or for renewed applications in present day.

Book Death Emotion and Childhood in Premodern Europe

Download or read book Death Emotion and Childhood in Premodern Europe written by Katie Barclay and published by Palgrave Macmillan. This book was released on 2017-02-13 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book draws on original material and approaches from the developing fields of the history of emotions and childhood studies and brings together scholars from history, literature and cultural studies, to reappraise how the early modern world reacted to the deaths of children. Child death was the great equaliser of the early modern period, affecting people of all ages and conditions. It is well recognised that the deaths of children struck at the heart of early modern families, yet less known is the variety of ways that not only parents, but siblings, communities and even nations, responded to childhood death. The contributors to this volume ask what emotional responses to child death tell us about childhood and the place of children in society. Placing children and their voices at the heart of this investigation, they track how emotional norms, values, and practices shifted across the fifteenth to nineteenth centuries through different religious, legal and national traditions. This collection demonstrates that child death was not just a family matter, but integral to how communities and societies defined themselves. Book Health for all Children

Download or read book Health for all Children written by David M B Hall and published by OUP Oxford. This book was released on 2006-09-07 with total page 423 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since publication of the fourth edition of this highly successful book, there have been a number of Government initiatives, reports and policies on how the health of children can best be protected and promoted. This revised fourth edition incorporates recent material on the National Service Framework, 'Every Child Matters', the public health report 'Choosing Health', and the Children Act. It has also been informed by new research on a variety of topics including Sure Start, obesity, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and language acquisition. Health for all Children 4/e (revised) continues the themes of previous editions, in particular highlighting the growing evidence that behavioural problems and educational failure are not inevitable, and can be prevented. Thus the role of screening for developmental problems, while not ignored, is set in the context of what can be done to promote language development, reading, and enthusiasm for learning. Changes made to the fourth edition, and continued in this revised edition, include dealing with the health care needs of children of school age as well as pre-school children. It also outlines the needs of special groups of children, including those who are vulnerable or disabled and those living in unusual circumstances. The legislative framework is outlined and hallmarks of good practice described. Promoting children's health is a key focus, with updated information on nutrition and injury prevention, and emphasis on the importance of parent education and support, language, and literacy skills, with a review of behavioural management programmes for parents. It also describes the duties laid on PCTs with regard to education and social services support. This established and successful book continues to be essential reading for all health professionals who work with children, whether in the community or at the receiving end of referrals. It will also provide vital background knowledge for those charged with the responsibility of planning, commissioning and monitoring. This revised fourth edition provides the most up to date evidence in a rapidly changing field.
