These committees number in all two hundred active, intelligent, well known citizens, recommended to as, with but few exceptions, by the presi dent judges of the judicial districts in which they were appointed, and they have already greatly aided as in our work, especially in the counties which our General Agent, during the past year, was, for want of time, unable to reach.
