Book Anharmonic Properties Of High tc Cuprates Proceedings Of The International Workshop

Download or read book Anharmonic Properties Of High tc Cuprates Proceedings Of The International Workshop written by Dragan Mihailovic and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1995-06-29 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume deals with an important aspect of the physics of high-temperature superconductors. In recent years a wealth of experimental and theoretical work has accumulated on the subject of anharmonicity in connection to either superconductivity or lattice properties of superconducting oxides. The papers, by leading experts, are the proceedings of the first workshop dedicated to dealing with these issues.

Book Models and Phenomenology for Conventional and High temperature Superconductivity

Download or read book Models and Phenomenology for Conventional and High temperature Superconductivity written by Giuseppe Iadonisi and published by IOS Press. This book was released on 1998 with total page 606 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The search for microscopic models to explain the many superconducting substances has introduced seminal concepts and techniques in many-body physics and in statistical mechanics. The complexity of the high-temperature superconductors has required a remarkable refinement of experimental techniques in order to allow a reliable characterization of the samples, and is partly the reason why so many different microscopic models have so far been proposed. This Enrico Fermi Course on Superconductivity was provided an up-to date presentation of selected experimental and theoretical theories on the (so called) conventional superconductivity and on the high temperature superconductivity. The attention was focused on those reliable measurements which are expected to provide the theory with key constraints, viz: Raman and Infrared Spectroscopy, Nuclear Spin Resonance, Angular Resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy, transport measurements, Josephson effect. The lectures devoted to the overview of the BCS theory and to the discussion of minimal models and of the crossover from BCS to Bose-Einstein condensation may be particularly useful. The remaining part of the program was shared between phonon and non-phonon based mechanisms. On the one hand, special emphasis has been devoted to the breakdown of the Migdal theorem and to polaronic theories. On the other, the book contains an overview of strongly correlated electron theories, including magnetic interactions. A survey of the physics of vortices completes the theoretical part of the lectures.

Book Electronic Properties and Mechanisms of High Tc Superconductors

Download or read book Electronic Properties and Mechanisms of High Tc Superconductors written by Tamio Oguchi and published by North Holland. This book was released on 1992 with total page 466 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Workshop took place after the International Conference on Materials and Mechanisms of Superconductivity - High Temperature Superconductors III (Kanazawa, 22-27 July 1991) and attracted some of the most distingusihed participants from that major event. From the conference some key areas were selected and discussed at the workshop in great detail. These include cuprate superconductors and a new class of high-T c M x C 60 . The investigation of the similarity and dissimilarity between the properties of both superconductors may lead to an understanding of the mechanism of high-T c superconductivity. Papers on the superconducting properties of the cuprate oxides related to the flux-lines and their dynamics are also included. This carefully edited volume is therefore a very readable account of some of the most important aspects of high-T c superconductivity as seen by the leading authorities in 1991. It can be highly recommended for its originality as well as its archival value.

Book High Tc Copper Oxide Superconductors and Related Novel Materials

Download or read book High Tc Copper Oxide Superconductors and Related Novel Materials written by Annette Bussmann-Holder and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-03-24 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Authored by many of the world's leading experts on high-Tc superconductivity, this volume presents a panorama of ongoing research in the field, as well as insights into related multifunctional materials. The contributions cover many different and complementary aspects of the physics and materials challenges, with an emphasis on superconducting materials that have emerged since the discovery of the cuprate superconductors, for example pnictides, MgB2, H2S and other hydrides. Special attention is also paid to interface superconductivity. In addition to superconductors, the volume also addresses materials related to polar and multifunctional ground states, another class of materials that owes its discovery to Prof. Müller's ground-breaking research on SrTiO3.

Book Phonon Scattering in Condensed Matter VII

Download or read book Phonon Scattering in Condensed Matter VII written by Michael Meissner and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 543 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains the proceedings of the Seventh International Conference on Phonon Scattering in Condensed Matter held August 3-7, 1992, at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, USA. The preceding conferences were held at: St. Maxime and Paris (France) 1972, Nottingham (UK) 1975, Providence (USA) 1979, Stuttgart (Germany) 1983, Urbana (USA) 1986, and Heidelberg (Germany) 1989. The Heidelberg conference was held jointly with the Third International Con ference on Phonon Physics. The next conference, to be held in August, 1995, in Sapporo, Japan, and hosted by Professor T. Nakayama and his colleagues, will also be such a joint conference. This conference was attended by 227 scientists from 27 countries, and covered all aspects of phonon scattering in condensed matter, ranging from the more traditional topics of thermal conductivity, Kapitza resistance, and ballistic phonon propagation to the recently added topics, such as electron-phonon interaction in high-T c superconductors, the use of phonons in particle detection, and phonons in confined geometries. The 207 papers arranged in 11 chapters in this volume are a cross section of the present activities in the quite obviously vibrant field of phonons and their interactions.
