Download or read book Anguilla 2023 second Round Supplementary Report written by Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes and published by . This book was released on 2023-07-19 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes is a multilateral framework for tax transparency and information sharing, within which over 160 jurisdictions participate on an equal footing. The Global Forum monitors and peer reviews the implementation of international standard of exchange of information on request (EOIR) and automatic exchange of information. The EOIR provides for international exchange on request of foreseeably relevant information for the administration or enforcement of the domestic tax laws of a requesting party. All Global Forum members have agreed to have their implementation of the EOIR standard be assessed by peer review. In addition, non-members that are relevant to the Global Forum's work are also subject to review. The legal and regulatory framework of each jurisdiction is assessed as is the implementation of the EOIR framework in practice. The final result is a rating for each of the essential elements and an overall rating. The first round of reviews was conducted from 2010 to 2016. The Global Forum has agreed that all members and relevant non-members should be subject to a second round of review starting in 2016, to ensure continued compliance with and implementation of the EOIR standard. Whereas the first round of reviews was generally conducted as separate reviews for Phase 1 (review of the legal framework) and Phase 2 (review of EOIR in practice), the EOIR reviews commencing in 2016 combine both Phase 1 and Phase 2 aspects into one review. Final review reports are published and reviewed jurisdictions are expected to follow up on any recommendations made. The ultimate goal is to help jurisdictions to effectively implement the international standards of transparency and exchange of information for tax purposes

Book Tropical Fish Otoliths Information for Assessment Management and Ecology

Download or read book Tropical Fish Otoliths Information for Assessment Management and Ecology written by Bridget S. Green and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-08-07 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Techniques and theory for processing otoliths from tropical marine fish have developed only recently due to an historic misconception that these organisms could not be aged. Otoliths are the most commonly used structures from which daily, seasonal or annual records of a fish’s environmental history are inferred, and are also used as indicators of migration patterns, home range, spatial distribution, stock structure and life history events. A large proportion of projects undertaken on tropical marine organisms involve removal and processing of calcified structures such as otoliths, statoliths or vertebrae to retrieve biological, biochemical or genetic information. Current techniques and principles have evolved rapidly and are under constant modification and these differ among laboratories, and more particularly among species and within life history stages. Tropical fish otoliths: Information for assessment, management and ecology is a comprehensive description of the current status of knowledge about otoliths in the tropics. This book has contributions from leading experts in the field, encompassing a tropical perspective on daily and annual ageing in fish and invertebrates, microchemistry, interpreting otolith microstructure and using it to back-calculate life history events, and includes a treatise on the significance of validating periodicity in otoliths.

Book Black Money and Tax Havens

Download or read book Black Money and Tax Havens written by R Vaidyanathan and published by Penguin Random House India Private Limited. This book was released on 2023-10-23 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Just how much black money is there in India? Estimates vary from 10 per cent to 20 per cent of our GDP. Conservatively, Rs 15 lakh crore (10 per cent of Rs 150 lakh crore, our GDP in 2016-17). As for Indian money in tax havens around the world? Around Rs 65 lakh crore. Truly astounding figures. Black money or kala dhan is a topic that has elicited much debate in recent times. This has been mostly marked by mudslinging and name-calling, and the discussions that have ensued often have no basis in fact. While most people have a hazy notion of black money, only a few understand it in its entirety. The issue of tax havens is perhaps even more misunderstood. Most people fail to see the connection between tax havens and black money. Black Money and Tax Havens is the first work that discusses both of these issues in depth and offers a 360-degree view to the reader. In this work, R. Vaidyanathan provides the reader with a brief overview of black money-its generation, its estimates and how and why it is spirited away to tax havens. He also lays bare the danger that is posed to world financial well-being on account of the lack of political will to tackle these issues. A unique and timely work, this book packs in much information in an accessible manner.

Book Advances in Marine and Freshwater Monitoring to support Aquatic Ecosystem Conservation and Restoration

Download or read book Advances in Marine and Freshwater Monitoring to support Aquatic Ecosystem Conservation and Restoration written by Elisabetta Manea and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2023-11-13 with total page 253 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Conserving and restoring freshwater and marine ecosystems are priorities addressed by several European and global conservation initiatives. Many management and conservation initiatives have been put in place to support the achievement of declared national and global conservation and sustainability goals. Nonetheless, the extent to which all these initiatives can provide lasting positive effects on conservation and restoration targets is often impaired/limited by the lack of robust baseline data and systematic monitoring, which in turn are constrained by the limited number of long-term monitoring programs and limited dedicated funding. This collection underlines the importance of monitoring in times of global change and shifting baselines and the urgency of boosting conservation strategies to ensure progression towards meeting global conservation objectives. Emphasis is given also to the socio-ecological contexts and dimensions of conservation efforts, and the potential of societal engagement in monitoring practices - a key enabling factor to turn conservation initiatives into practical actions and ecosystem protection.
