Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gail Thomas and Jean Castelow, a daughter and her mama, completed this book using nature photographs taken at or near their home near beautiful Lake Seminole, near Donalsonville, Georgia. We dedicate this book to all storm victims in Seminole County, Ga. Also, our surrounding counties, Mexico Beach and Panama City, Florida. We hope you know that God sent his son, Jesus, to die for us and resurrected him to sit at his right side and take us to Heaven when we die if we will accept him as our Savior and give our lives to him. His Holy Spirit can guide us and help us each day on our earthly journey. People can see Jesus in our hearts on earth, and we can pray for healing and comfort anytime and receive his strength and power. Gail and her mama love Jesus, which is reflected in the poetry book. The Bible speaks of angels as messengers who are sent by God to help us at times in our lives. Our prayer is that you will be encouraged, healed, and inspired by this book, and always comforted, knowing God's angels are with your every day. Love and Prayers,

Book The Book of Treasure Spirits

Download or read book The Book of Treasure Spirits written by Elias Ashmole and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE BOOK OF TREASURE SPIRITS Conjurations of Goetic spirits, old gods, demons and fairies are all part of a rich heritage of the magical search for treasure trove. During the Middle Ages and Renaissance the British Monarchy gave out licenses to people seeking treasure in an effort to control such practices, and this is one reason why so many grimoires are full of conjurations and charms to help the magician find treasure. Published here for the first time, from a long-ignored mid-seventeenth century manuscript in the British Library (Sloane MS 3824), is the conjuration said to have been performed at the request of King Edward IV, with other rites to reveal treasure, to have treasure brought from the sea, and to cause thieves to bring back stolen goods. Conjurations to call any type of spirit are also included, recorded by the noted alchemist and collector Elias Ashmole, as is an extract on conjuration practices from the Heptameron, transcribed into English for practical use by a working group of magicians, before its first English publication by Robert Turner in 1655. These conjurations demonstrate the influence of earlier classic grimoires and sources, with components drawn from the Goetia, the Heptameron, and Reginald Scot's Discoverie of Witchcraft. The material includes spirit contracts for Agares, Padiel and Vassago, as well as techniques like lead plates for binding, and summoning into a glass of water, which hark back to the defixiones of Hellenistic Greece and the demonic magic of the Biblical world. This material forms part of a corpus of conjurations all written in the same hand and style of evocation, linking Goetic spirits and treasure spirits with the archangels and planetary intelligences (in Sloane MS 3825), and demon kings and Enochian hierarchies (in Sloane MS 3821), making it a unique bridge of style and content between what are often falsely seen as diverse threads of Renaissance magic. About the Author David Rankine is an occult scholar and author of more than 20 books on the subject of magic, the western esoteric traditions, folklore and mythology. Since the 1970's he has been researching and exploring magical and spiritual practices throughout history; a journey which has taken him from ancient Sumeria, Babylonia and Egypt through Greece, Rome and Britain through the middle ages and rennaisance and the modern Western Mystery Traditions. With Stephen Skinner he has produced works such as The Veritable Key of Solomon and the Goetia of Dr Rudd, both highly regarded groundbreaking works which make available previously unpublished source materials for the first time.

Book excerpt: The story of the unsung hero of the world of spirits, wine, and beer and an invention as ancient and important as the wheel—the humble barrel. Without the barrel, we would have no bourbon, no oak-aged chardonnay, no barrel-aged stouts . . . and no tabasco sauce, either. From its first use by the Ancient Egyptians, the barrel has left an unmistakable imprint on human history. The Romans used it in all corners of their vast empire, and explorers could not have charted the globe or opened up trade routes without them to store their food and water. And in all its thousands of years of use, the barrel’s basic design has barely changed at all—a testament to its sheer and simple perfection. Cask Strength is more than a history book. In it, Mike Gerrard, an award-winning travel and drinks writer, investigates the making, buying, and selling of barrels and details how drinks like wine, tequila, rum, cognac, and others are enhanced by specific kinds of barrel production. Modern distillers, brewers, and wine-makers continue to use them in new, creative ways—with the barrel providing up to 60-70% of their flavors. Gerrard’s expertise and palpable passion for beverages will ignite the curiosities of booze fans and history buffs alike as Cask Strength traces the simple splendor of the barrel.

Book The Evolution Angel

Download or read book The Evolution Angel written by Todd Michael and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2008-09-04 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I asked him, “Are you the angel of death? You must be to keep showing up at these times.” He paused and said, “Let’s just say you can think of me as an ‘Evolution Angel.’” Todd Michael was the medical director of a level-three trauma center when he had his own brush with death before being saved by the voice of an angel. In this collection of true stories from the emergency room, Dr. Michael relates his experiences with dying patients and angels that invariably attend this critical rite of passage. Eventually he began communicating with an angel who was sent to aid us in our human evolution. Evolution, as Dr. Michael describes it in The Evolution Angel, is a “quantum leap, a jump to a completely new and higher level of being.” What exactly is that higher level of being, and how do we achieve it? The Evolution Angel provides fascinating lessons, wisdom, and insight into turning our human journey into one where we can not only communicate with the spirit world but also access this otherworldly wisdom in our lives at any moment. Inspirational, poignant, and wise, The Evolution Angel is a guide for everyone who wants to learn about the purpose of our lives, how to live at the highest level, and what happens to the soul after we die.

Book The Soul of Design

Download or read book The Soul of Design written by Robert Austin and published by Stanford University Press. This book was released on 2012-09-05 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What makes the Apple iPhone cool? Bang & Olufsen and Samsung's televisions beautiful? Any of a wide variety of products and services special? The answer is not simply functionality or technology, for competitors' products are often as good. The Soul of Design explores the uncanny power of some products to grab and hold attention—to create desire. To understand what sets a product apart in this way, authors Lee Devin and Robert Austin push past personal taste and individual response to adopt a more conceptual approach. They carefully explore the hypothesis that there is something within a "special" product that makes it—well, special. They argue that this je ne sais quoi arises from "plot"—the shape that emerges as a product or service arouses and then fulfills expectations. Marketing a special product is, then, a matter of helping its audience perceive its plot and comprehend its qualities. Devin and Austin provide keys to understanding why some products and services stand out in a crowd and how the companies that make them create these hits. Part One of the book introduces the authors' definition of plot in this context; Part Two breaks down the components needed to build a plot; Part Three describes what makes a plot coherent; Part Four takes on the challenges of making coherent products and services attractive to consumers. Part Four also presents detailed casework, which shows how innovators and makers have successfully brought special products to market. Readers will come away with a sensible and clear approach to conceiving of artful products and services. This book will help managers and designers think about engaging with plot, taking aesthetic factors into account to provide consumers with more special things.

Book The Judeo Persian Poet Emr n and his Book of Treasure

Download or read book The Judeo Persian Poet Emr n and his Book of Treasure written by David Yeroushalmi and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2021-10-11 with total page 471 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the course of their long history on Iranian soil the Jews of Iran have produced a large body of literature which has been little studied and published. This volume deals with one of the most prominent Jewish poets of Iran, known as 'Emrānī (1454-1536 C.E.). The book consists of three parts. The first part studies 'Emrānī's time, life and work and analyzes in depth the poet's last major work entitled Ganj-nāme (The Book of Treasure). Ganj-nāme, which is closely modeled after compositions of classical Persian literature, is 'Emrānī's versified commentary of the ethical tractate of the Mishnah commonly known as Pirqey Abot (“The Chapters of the Fathers”). The second part of the book offers the English translation, annotation and source study of Ganj-nāme. The third and last part of the book provides a critical edition of Ganj-nāme.
